I want to keep my favorite spot a secret but this place is incredibly good…read more They serve breakfast all day Very decent wine menu Food is consistenly (really) good, arrives fast and hot. If service is a bit slow, give them a break, place is often crowded with tables constantly turning, but they never rush you. When weather permits, there's a nice patio. I keep reading "friendly service". I'd say actually it's a bit brusque. It's midwestern friendly, the blank face kind that's waiting to make sure you're not a jerk, or let you know they don't put up with them. But the service is excellent They should give up the counter seating for customers and call it "kitchen view" imho ha I don't want to say this for fear they raise prices, but very affordable. Tip them well. I've gone all around the menu and the only items I personally don't return to are the flatbreads, just not my thing. I opt instead for their sandwiches, salmon tacos, breakfast items, soups. It's all very good. Thanks, Brew!

Stumbling upon Brew In The Village we were impressed by their offering, both food/drink and…read moreservice. A friend and I had brunch/lunch here and the menu is a curated selection of tasty bites. I had the BREWschetta and it really hit the spot that I was looking for in a small bite. In particular, the balsamic was delicious! I also had two sour beers (cans) and they were local and great. We had the pleasure of sitting outside in the nice weather and the patio was lively! This place seems to get a lot of attention and rightfully so. On top of it, the staff was attentive the entire time. Out the door we didn't break the bank and left content. I certainly encourage you to give Brew a try if you have never been!

Unprofessional staff & irresponsible service…read more My father owned and managed a bar his entire life, and I now have worked in/around alcohol service going on 3 years, and never have I experienced a more egregious over-service and mishandling of the situation by security staff. As an avid night-lifer in the QC, there are a number of stops you make in a successful night-out--Kil's typically being in high rotation. While out with some pals, there was a patron who could barely stand and stumbled into their outdoor seating area. He was sitting there, quietly, presumably sobering up a bit to handle himself better. I can only imagine that another customer notified security of his state because two security staff came over to him. Instead of checking coherency, offering some water, asking his name or if he was here with anyone or had a safe route home, they flirted with the line of harassment and made a scene while telling him to leave. He got up, clearly disheveled and starting vomiting while walking away. The staff laughed and drew more attention. I was with a friend who is a bartender at another local establishment and she spoke up at their terrible choice of actions, and they dismissed her, said she had no experience, and told her, "he's probably underage anyway, so," and that it wasn't their job to keep people safe. SO who let this guy in?? not checking IDs now are we? Every job I've held that deals with alcohol service requires completion of a course pertaining to the legal obligations an employee/agent of a licensed establishment: most interestingly enough, Iowa's Dram Shop Law would hold their staff (and the License holder) liable for any & all damages caused by an over-served customer. Personally, I read this as: taking care of your customers is covering you own ass anyways, so might as well do it. I have 0 tolerance for drunk belligerency -- totally in favor of kicking those types of people out ASAP. This was simply not the case.

I have eaten here a handful of times over the years. Every time I do, I remember how good the food…read moreis and wonder why I don't eat here more often. It looks like a typical sports bar/restaurant. What sets it apart is the quality of the food. With our most recent visit, we went at an off-peak time between lunch and dinner. The place was relatively empty. Service was timely. For an appetizer, we had fried pickles. These looked like they were cut, battered, and fried in-house and were good. For my entree, I had the Zombie Invasion Burger. They advertise it as possibly the best burger on the planet. I don't know if I would endorse it being the best on the planet, but it's definitely one of the better burgers I have had. It's a gourmet-type burger, pairing sweet with some zing. The fries were standouts as well. They weren't particularly fancy, but they were well seasoned (just salt and pepper) and based on the quality, I am guessing they were cut in-house and fried to order. My wife had a Mediterranean salad, which she liked. I did not try any of it, but I have had a salad there before (Plantation Salad) and thought it was pretty darned good. For dessert, I had the cheesecake. This was good. It wasn't necessarily great, but I left happy. Overall, the food here is really good and the prices are appropriate.

this place is awful, the service was terrible. There was no kind of organization. Everyone was running around like it was their first day. I am never one to complain. i am a server myself. But I am beyond disgusted. Our food was mediocre at best and still was 80 dollars. Yea never coming here ever again.
