Bacon Mac and cheese tater tots

Fast! Tasty! Quite filling! Nothing is cheap in Disney but can't complain about the size of this serving.

*Great Vegetarian find at Disney World!* The Friar's Nook in Magic Kingdom is a quick service restaurant featuring hot dogs and tots. The vegan bratwurst was served in a flavorful pretzel bun with fried tater tots (which were greasy but in a good way!) The brat had a snap like a real sausage and was great topped with sauerkraut ketchup and mustard (all optional). Only down side was the wait, which was about 20 minutes. On the side I requested the cheese sauce as I split it with my vegan wife and I am not.

Mac and cheese with tots, bratwurst, and Buffalo chicken tots. All delicious! Needs more seating, I can't imagine how insane it would be to get a table if the parks were full!

Over rated and lack luster food options at best! The service staff is great but the quality and options depletes all positives

At the time of my visit, it was open fairly late for walk up orders for those seeking a bite to eat later in the evening. Mobile order through the My Disney Experience (MDE) app was also available, but only up until an hour before the official closing time of the establishment. Seats were available for patrons to dine inside and right outside. However, since P and J is located on the Fort Wilderness Resort, there are several picnic/outdoor areas throughout the property for diners to take their food on the go to enjoy. Located on the end of the property that is closest to the Seven Seas Lagoon, P and J Southern Takeout can easily be accessed by resort/campground guests through the internal bus system, golf cart (there's parking right outside the establishment), or by walking (though it may be a long walk depending on where your lodging is situated). Guests not staying at Fort Wilderness could probably stop by P and J Southern Takeout, especially those coming from Magic Kingdom by the resort/campground's private boat. The drop off is a very short walk from the boat dock and no one was verifying whether one was a guest of Fort Wilderness or not. My hubby and I ordered dinner at P and J Southern Takeout to try the food on the resort, and it definitely didn't disappoint. We went for what seemed to be their specialized items - BBQ Ribs and Fried Chicken meal (though they do have much more on the menu that align with the typical WDW quick service offerings). For a quick service meal and for the price, our food was fantastic! This could have easily passed for some of the more expensive table service choices at the parks, specifically at Magic Kingdom. Both the ribs and chicken were tender and juicy. The fried chicken was crispy and not oily and the BBQ ribs coupled with the BBQ sauce were absolute perfection. The sides were overly generous in size. We tried the Mashed Potatoes with gravy (delicious!), Cowboy Beans (my favorite out of all of the sides we selected and complemented the rest of the meal perfectly), and Mac & Cheese. The cornbread was also phenomenal. It was my on the go breakfast for the next two days. We were happy to take our food back to our cabin and have leftovers to munch on throughout the rest of our stay. We ordered through mobile order on the MDE app and our order was promptly ready at the time specified. Cast Members at P and J Southern Takeout were friendly and welcoming. Overall good experience. We would definitely make it a point to dine with them again when on property (or visiting Magic Kingdom and looking for a break from the park).

The convenience that it is on the campgrounds is the benefit, and if your starving they have decent extended hours. If you have the app, it's most convenient to order online. Our first experience with breakfast was awful. The lady at the register was so sweet but their computer systems weren't working so the manager had to come out and reboot the register. They do have some seating inside, but it is limited due to Covid. The bounty breakfast is Served with Eggs, French Toast Sticks, Bacon, Sausage, Potato Barrels, and a Biscuit. The eggs were runny the bacon was extremely thin, the potato barrels were tater tots (can't mess those up) and the French toast sticks are doused in sugar. The next day, we gambled here for breakfast again (we didn't prep our camper for breakfast meals). This time we ordered the Mickey waffles that came with either sausage or bacon. This was a much better option, but unfortunately they placed our order in the wrong window and someone took our food so we had to re-wait again for our food ... frustrating. For a Disney restaurant they do not have it together.

I sadly just realized that I have never reviewed Freddy's. I have been here so often that I…read moreassumed that I already had! Time to fix that oversight. Now this review has nothing to do with that my father's name was Freddy and that my mother's favorite treat was frozen custard. But those little tidbits of information don't hurt. The warm feeling that I get when I eat frozen custard reminiscent of enjoying it on the boardwalk with my mom is renewed at Freddy's not because of the ambience of the restaurant, but because of that same delicious taste that my mind still seems to remember from long ago that I have not found anywhere else before this. But I digress. Freddy's may look like your typical fast food restaurant, but it is anything but. I already loved it for the burgers, the french fries with their wonderful sauce, and of course, the custard but now they have a salad as well. Really fresh greens with my favorite burger on top as a garnish. Low-carb great taste and totally filling. But not so filling as to not leave room for that wonderful custard. On this particular visit, I did run into an issue which I will not lower my rating because of, but want people aware of so it does not happen to them. If you have a coupon for a discounted custard, and they ring in any other item after that, it will restore the custard to the full price on their register. I did not notice that and paid the full price. The manager did give me a card for a free custard next visit so they certainly took responsibility but just wanted people aware to keep an eye on that. In defense of the staff, I don't think they noticed either that it had occurred, so I did not allow that to detract from my impression of five star service from their pleasant, friendly and attentive staff Of course the custard is a star. It comes in all sorts of different ways to serve it. I tend to usually be a purist indeed, as a soft serve, but sometimes their specials are so exciting that I cannot resist. I have never tasted any of them that I did not find awesome. Their steakburgers should not be left as an afterthought. These are not like other fast food burgers; the meat is actually very tasty and because there's not any "proprietary" seasonings on it I even order an extra one so that I can sit outside with my puppy and she can enjoy it. It is small enough to not be unhealthy for her and big enough to be a satisfying snack. Its fat content does not make her ill like the typical fast food burger would. I personally like the fries and find the sauces to be quite good. Prices are more than reasonable and they have hours that make them convenient whenever you're hungry or craving that custard fix. I am a Freddy's fan and wish they would open one closer to where I live in Miami.

The resturant inside was very clean, and the employees working behind the counter were very nonchalant. I ended up ordering their grilled chicken sandwich combo with their famous skinny fries. My mom got the Freddy's Original double combo with a Turtle milkshake and onion rings. The sandwich portion was big. The chicken was very juicy and tasted alright. The fries, however, were not seasoned. I had to get a salt and pepper packet to season them. At that point, they were very good, tasty, and crispy! Overall, the meal was okay. It was nothing spectacular but also nothing terrible either. As for my mom, she wasn't very impressed with her hamburger. She said the portion size was good, but she would describe the hamburger itself as "lacy." She said it was okay, but since it took us 27 minutes to get here, she said Culver's was better in quality and closer. She was underwhelmed by the onion rings. She said it was more of the fried breading and barely any onion inside. However, she did enjoy her milkshake, but struggled to suck it up through the straw. It was enjoyable to try a new establishment, but it was just a mid experience for me.
