Thank you so much to Friar Tux for taking care of us! Generally I have no issues with anything from Friar Tux. Everyone is always super nice and welcoming. Prices seem pretty fair. I booked my pick up for Weds before the Wedding on Monday. Everything else was going great until they gave me a size 38 pants even though I wear a size 30. TRYNA MAKE ME LOOK LIKE THE NUTTY PROFESSOR OVER HERE. Y'ALL HAD 1 MONTH TO GET THIS ALL DONE?! It's ok I'm sure someone was having a long day. I did double check the sizing and numbers but it all looked normal on the piece of paper. Maybe somewhere somebody messed up. Luckily they were able to hem a new pair of pants right there in 10 minutes. Overall, it's really not the biggest deal but glad they were able to find a solution fast. I used to work in hospitality and customer service so I completely understand things happen. Would have been nice if I got some kind of discount or something for it though. Moral of the story: Make sure you try on everything before you leave. Good thing I tried it on because if it was wrong when I was in SD that would have been horrible. read more

Whether you have an appointment or not, you will most likely be seen within 10 minutes. We didn't have an appointment, but it is best to have one to avoid a wait. You first check in on the iPad at the entrance, and then you'll be called when it's your turn. The process is very quick and from start to finish, should take about 1/2 hour. Of all the weekend wedding errand stops made this past Friday-Sunday, our walk-in with Jackson Harris was among the most memorable. In keeping with tradition, I was flying blind as to the kind of suit I wanted to purchase for our upcoming garden themed wedding as I knew only that; 1) on the brides end, there would be an outfit change and 2) brown would be the optimal suit color. From the getgo, I really appreciated Jackson's calm, cool, & collected nature. He made tactfully excellent suggestions in response to concerns that popped up throughout the process (i.e., keeping with an atraditional look, groomsmen suit rental v. Purchase options, & flattering groomsmen tie options). Even more impressive than that was Jackson's emotional intelligence, quickly calibrating to my fiancé and my humors to the point where it felt like 3 friends shooting the $#it together. Julian was great to work with! I made an appointment online and was looking for a suit for graduation pictures and also one to reuse for other occasions. He allowed me to try on all the colors of suits that I wanted to and found the right fit for me! It also helped that I knew my sizing and how I like my suits to fit, so I knew whether to size down or up. Since they had my sizing in store, I was told that my suit would be altered and ready within a week's time! Also, as a woman who likes to wear men's suits, Julian was so chill and made me feel like any other customer! There was also a student discount which was a pleasant surprise and Julian made sure that all the sales and specials online were price matched to what he sold to me in store. Friar Tux is everything it promises to be. As a man who's never worn a tux (and absolutely needed one for a choir performance), the staff here explained it all to me and ensured I would fit the choir's dress code exactly. They measure quickly and accurately here, so much so that I only had to try on a couple different pieces before finding the perfect fit. The rental prices are pretty good, but the purchase prices are (in my opinion) even better. It's high-quality stuff and I really recommend shopping here for any tux-related needs. Even if you come in without scheduling an appointment, you won't be waiting long, especially if it's a slower day. They're also very trans-friendly, as I found out during my first time at the store! I'm a member of the MenAlive chorus, but never get clocked as a man due to my appearance. You usually need an appointment to do anything at a tux shop. However... Half an hour before we were supposed to leave our hotel to go to my son's wedding, he called me and said,"I know I said I was going to provide all the bow ties for all the men in the wedding, but somehow I came up one short." So I had to scramble. The first thing I did was to open Yelp to find a "Tux Shop near me" and "Open Now". Friar Tux was just 10 minutes away. I rushed over there, found a parking space not too far away, and dashed into the shop. Of course there were other customers in there, waiting for their appointments. I stood sheepishly by the register as the salesmen tended to their customers. When one of them came to the register, he kindly asked what I needed. I told him that I only needed a black bow tie. He was quick and efficient. He wrapped up the transaction he was working on, thanked that customer, and then pulled a bow tie out of the drawer for me. I was actually out of the store in only a few minutes. The price was fair and the service excellent! read more

I'm very awkwardly tall and lanky so dealing with any type of clothing that has to be tried on is usually a whole process. Had a great experience in getting my custom fitted suit here. My buddy was getting married and he chose this place because they have stores all over SOCAL. He lives in Glendale so he was able to have the information set in their system so that the groomsmen can visit any other Friars shops in Orange County to get our attire. All the groom had to do was provide us a code that we'd have to give to the in store representatives so that they were able to pull up our file without any issues. I went into the store and waited for a bit to get myself fitted, and the money I walked in, I had to go on my smart phone to check in, but they basically assisted me from start to finish. They helped me put on my coat and were very friendly on getting my size perfectly . Everyone there was a very helpful and had a superb attitude. After getting my suit fitted, I waited for about 2 weeks for them to completed, and when the time came around to pick up, it was a perfect fit. The whole entire rental came out to be around $170. It comes with bowtie, blazer, slacks, dress shirt, and socks (which you keep) and shoes. You don't need to clean them before you return so makes everything a lot more convenient. All I did was walk in and told them my information and dropped it off. In and out, just like how I like where I like my burgers lol Highly recommend for those looking for a place to get rental suit. I went in with my groomsmen in April to get fitted for my wedding in October. The initial experience was pleasant but on our final fitting on Sept 22nd I took my packages to friar tux and opened there only to find my suit pants and vest were not included. I was assured they would see what occurred and would work on getting me a replace suit pants and vest. My groomsmen had other issues that came up, 3 had their exact fits while the other 3 had either ill fitting coats, vests, shirts, pants or a combination of all listed. Again I was reassured that they could have all this fixed and ready along with my missing pieces by Wednesday which was 2 days after our September 22nd fitting. Well Wednesday came and nothing was actually ready and instead was told to come back on the following Wednesday which would now put us at October 1st....3days before the wedding. Aiden and I forget the other associate had very little to offer other than condolences and again promising a quick turnaround. We were contacted on September 29th that most items came in along with my pants and vest. When we all showed up they actually still had the wrong sized pieces but did have my missing suit pieces. We had to ship one groomsman's suit to LA because he had come down 3 times already to friar tux in Costa Mesa with none of his pieces being ready even though we were told each time they were. Another groomsman's shoes were canceled which was weird and again none of the staff could answer why. All in all I was not the only upset customer as when I went on October 1st another customer was complaining about similar issues with his order and the unprofessionalism portrayed by the staff as they kept giving contradictory information about his suit making him waste time. Weddings are already stressful friar tux, be better and don't add to it. I'd like a partial refund for all the time wasted and for making my groomsmen come down each time only to find they had no suits ready. read more

Friar Tux is very accommodating. When I wasn't able to do the final fitting on the initial scheduled day since I was going away on a camping trip, I was able to reschedule with Jennie on the phone. During the final fitting, Jennie was a huge help and very patient in answering my questions and helping me pick out shoe sizes. We went through several shoes before we found the right fit. She also helped guide me in wearing the tuxedo since I had never worn one before. For her exceptional service, I hope Jennie gets a raise or promotion. She was wonderful. If you're not free to return your rentals yourself, you can rely on a friend or family member. I was too busy to be able to return my tuxedo to Friar Tux but my dad was able to return it for me. Nice. My cousin's wedding was fun and I got a lot of compliments about my tuxedo. Bonus: I got to keep the black socks I got from the tuxedo rental. They'll help keep my feet warm in the winter. My husband and son were in a wedding. I left my husband to do the suit ordering. My son is 3 and solidly in a 3T. As we live out of state; we both measured AND told them 3t. As soon as we arrived in California, my husband took him to be fitted. They had to make several trips as everything was too big. I went to the last fitting and was SHOCKED at the size of the suit. We were told that there was none any smaller and the other ring bearer in the party had purchased the smaller size. We had intended on purchasing the suit to begin with but were left to rent. I said, "there has to be something smaller! There is no way this is acceptable" and we were told, "we don't have anything else this will be fine." They did order the next size down for pants (20s) and she assured me that she could hem them to the right length. Again, my husband went down there the next day to pick up the correct pants. As we got him dressed for his uncle's wedding, he looked ridiculous! The vest was too big around and wouldn't stay latched. The vest was safety-pinned together to try to resemble something that fit him. The pants were hemmed too short, and yet the crotch was around his knees. It didn't match the other ring bearer (his cousin) and didn't match the groomsmen either. I find it hard ti believe that Friar Tux doesn't have 2 little suits for two ring bearers that would match.! I am so embarrassed that he looked so oompha-loompa. read more

We loved the convenience of getting fitted by our house at the South Coast Plaza location and picking up/dropping off the suits by our venue in Temecula. The staff at both locations were so nice and so helpful. We rented three suits from them. My husband did a full suit change for the reception. All three looks were phenomenal.
