I had a trip to Springfield coming up and my wife happened to notice that Binny's in Springfield carried a beer that we like but did not know was even available in the U.S. I looked online and found other beers I have not seen at the store in St. Louis so we planned to visit Binny's while in Springfield. All I can say is that I wish I had more trips to Springfield coming up because the beer selection I saw at Binny's was really amazing. I also found the employees extremely helpful and willing to go out of their way to help me find what I was looking for, which is a good thing because I found the beer area overwhelming. Probably once a person learns how the beers are arranged it's easier, but organization system for the beers is not obvious at first glance, however that would be my only complaint. Here's the story....when we were in Italy in 2007 we ate at a fabulous restaurant in Rome. When we inquired as to which wine they would recommend with our meal they suggested a Pinot Grigio. We thought...Yuck, why would we want a watered down wine like that when were in once of the best food and wine cities in the world? They said no no no, this is not like that. You will love it. We did. Back to the states....where can we find this wine?! An internet search led us to The Corkscrew, one of like only three places in the states that carried it. We had a friend pick us up a few bottles, but had never been there ourselves. So onto this weekend, we had to go have a look see. Well the place is chock full of special bottles just like the one we had from Italy (that winery is since changed hands and not the same). Lots of interesting and unusual wines from small wineries. In addition on Fridays they have "Friday @ Five" - wine by the glass 5-8pm. For 5 dollars you get a glass of wine that they are sampling that evening. We tasted two really nice ones this past Friday.

We also ended up finishing a bottle of Jameson by paying for four shots, and got to sign it! (That's a tradition --- finish a Jameson bottle, sign it, and they put it on the wall). We saw the same corgis at buzz bomb-everyine was chills after a few barks He was just fine at Buzz Bomb, where we came from. There were other dogs at Buzz bomb and of course some barking took place then everyone was friends. NO PROBLEMS!! K? Keep that in your back pocket while reading this. Our family decided to go to JPs. Clyde didnt make a sounds the entire time. Multiple people came up to me saying how good of a boy he was being. He was minding his business. This couple with 2 corgis comes in, same people from buzz bomb, and obviously my dog is interested as is theirs. Their dog barked first*****, so mine barked after, duh. So a bartender came up to us (group of 10-12) and said if my dog barked again, we needed to leave. I asked another bartender why because the other couples dog barked first and his response was "well they come in weekly" ahhhh sooo it's okay since they patron there often and we don't as much. Although, their dog started it everytime?? So I was saying goodbye to my family and ANOTHER bartender came up saying we had to leave and don't come back. TRUST!!! We won't!! AFTER clyde and I left, the bartender told my brother in law that he told us to leave 3x which literally did not happen!! He told me the one time and we left. So please!! Roll the footage on that one I would love to see it. The bartender tried fighting my brother in laws dad after nasty comments were made about my niece.

I had purchased a box of wine from the Northender last night right before close getting my change I…read moredidnt realize that I wasnt given a receipt which is no biggie but I use my receipts for the fetch app , after arriving home I opened the box and poured a glass of wine the taste nearly made me sick I checked the box and realized the best buy expired date was 2023 I tried to call them right away but it was approaching closing time so their web page says open at 10:00 am I called every fifteen minutes thinking they might be busy with distributors I am very understanding finally after 12:00 pm I called an talked to the manager Joe I had told him I had tried calling last night and first thing this morning at 10am I asked him what time do they open an he replied when I get here so anyway I explained to him about the bad wine I was willing to just swap it out for an updated box of wine long story short he said wine doesn't go bad I told him I google it an box wine does go bad he then said just bring it in an we will fiqure it out I had thanked him My son went to return it he went to the front door and there was a sign on the door saying drive thru only So he pulled around asked for Joe and a very rude woman said hes here but is helping a customer when the front door has a sign saying drive thru only So my son goes thru the drive thru says how is he with a customer when the front door is locked an she replies it doesn't matter She then proceeds to give my son a $20 dollar bill he then says excuse me it was $23 plus tax she then commented that they googled it which i did that last night an brought it to Joes attention today my son shows her the screen shot from google she then replies the box was open an wasnt full 1 glass was taking out if it an it was dark yellow like the color of urine not ever tasting urine but I seriously bet it taste better then this wine did She rudely slammed the window i have purchased from this liquor store for over 30 years I am just truly shocked how rude an obnoxious the behavior was during this transaction I will never return so that extra 5$ has now cost them....could be in the hundreds so if they want to keep customers they need to treat them with respect.
