They have wine, beer, mixers, liquors, sodas, juices, drink toppers, etc. If you are planning a party and need anything for a great bar; this is the place to come shopping! They even have a small cheese section to go with the wine. They have cups, glasses, mugs, bottle openers, and so much more! They have a fridge section with cold beers as well as shelves upon shelves of room temp. beers. They have traditional beers, craft beers and even some unique beers from around the world. In the liquor aisle, I noticed they have all sorts of olives (stuffed, not stuffed, spicy, etc.) for drinks and they have other drink toppers too. When checking out, if you write a google review they even offer a 5% off right at that moment. So yes, I wrote a google review for them to save that 5%! The guys working were friendly and helpful. It is close to my house and has a decent selection. I like my IPA beers, but every time I go in there I shop for what I want in the cold fridge. I look for $8-9 selections of ipa. We were heading home down 270 and realized we had forgotten to stop and get some items for 4th of July weekend. So as usual, I pulled out my phone and searched with my handy Yelp App to see what the closest liquor store was. Not to far away was Friar Tuck Beverage. I have never been to one of their locations before, but we decided since it was the closest to give it a try. I was extremely surprised when walking though the door of the size and inventory of this place. So much to choose from. I was approached immediately and directed to the location of the item we were interested in. Needless to say with the selection of drinks, we left with 5 different items when we went in for one. Make that 7, I forgot that we grabbed up some small test items at the register. The next time we are looking for some weekend beverages, we will definitely be back. read more

I went to Dierbergs the other day to find some mixers with a friend. I just assumed they would have what I was looking for because I was look for basic drink mixers. They did not. I was kind of disappointed but remembered there was a Friar Tucks around the corner and figured they had to have have I was looking for. Like I expected, they had it. But that's not what so great about this place; they have everything! I'm not kidding. Every beer, wine, and hard liquor known to man! Some of the generic brand stuff might be cheaper at Schnucks or something but this place had an amazing selection. I spent so much time looking at their massive beer and wine selection. If you love exploring new beers, you have to check this place out. They have opened my eyes to so many new brands. I will be back to try them and use them as my adventurous alcohol provider! I'm not ashamed to admit that when I stepped into Friar Tuck's for the first time, I stopped frozen in the doorway for a second, taking it all in, and then clapped my hands, bounced on my toes, and squealed with excitement. And I'm not the only one who feels that way - the guy working behind the counter responded by saying, "I know, right? It's like Toys R Us for grownups!" This place has the best beer selection I've found in St. Louis. I'd gone to Lucas Liquor before and it was great, but they don't hold a candle to the Friar. (Also, who the heck wants to drive that far down Manchester for anything?!) I was looking for three particular (somewhat obscure) beers, and not only did they have them, reasonably priced - but they had them in two different sizes! The guy working there was friendly and helpful but not overly hovering; he gave us a few minutes to wander up and down and marvel before asking if we were looking for something specific. When I told him, he knew right away (1) that they had the beers (2) in stock and (3) exactly where to find them. He also made a recommendation for me to try, based on those three beer choices; and he pointed out their "make-your-own-sixpack" wall as well. As a bonus: Every beer place that's at all decent carries a few brews from Rogue (out of Newport, Oregon); but usually the same few: Dead Guy Ale, Shakespeare Stout, sometimes Mocha Porter and usually the fancy Imperial Stout and maybe American Amber. This place had a large selection of Rogue beers, and they were obviously familiar with the brewery and many of their offerings. That gets bonus points from me because Rogue is my favorite brewer and I miss having access to their crazy-huge selection of experimental beers. Obviously they had a huge liquor selection, too, but we didn't even bother looking - this time. They also have a great section of supplies for home brewers, which impressed me. Gravois Bluffs is kind of a road trip for people who live in the City or on the east side, but I like the movie theater there and go with my South County friend from time to time. Now I can use those trips to stock up on booze for a great price and without paying the ridiculously high Illinois liquor taxes. I love you, Friar Tuck! read more

Welcome to Alcohol Heaven. Local, international brew. You name it they have it. (For the most part) They even carry all of the things you need to make your own beer. Great customer service too. I talked to 3 different workers about different brews. Not only did they know what I was talking about and where it was, but they had good suggestions. I was looking for a few supplies to make birthday cake shots (recipe: cake vodka, whipped cream vodka, chocolate liqueur, milk, whipped cream, and sprinkles. OMG! Even though I don't drink, this is my fave place. They have those cane sugar sodas like the ones served at Sugarfire Smokehouse. Excel & Ski are the brand names. They have a wide selection of liquer (sp?). I came here last month trying to find chocolate liquer(sp?) for a flourless chocolate recipe. If you can't find it at Wal-Mart or at small liquor shops, come here. Friendly & helpful staff. They also have wine accoutrements as well. read more

This is my go-to place when I am looking for new beer to try or I need to find a less common bourbon. Prices are frequently lower than larger chain stores and selection is definitely better. I really appreciate how they have embraced St. Louis' craft beer scene and continue to import other beers from out of state too. I'll keep coming back for sure. read more

Maybe purchase a cold 4 pack of wine coolers or some beer and sneak them into the theater!! Its like the WalMart of the liquor store world! It is almost wrong to have this much alcohol in one place. It is bright, open and has spacious aisles. I have been to other, so-called giant liquor stores, they were cramped, seemed dirty and some left feeling in need of a scrubbing with a bar of Lava after I left. Best to avoid those areas of town I suppose. This place is so clean and bright and pretty. They have the best selection of Italian Moscato and German Riesling I have ever seen. For those who think fine wine comes in a screw on top (NOT), you have plenty yo choose from as well as for the boxed wine aficionado, you can buy all the not-so classy or fine wine your trailer park heart desires. As well as more wine cooler variations than I knew existed. I can not stand beer, if I want to eat wheat, barley or what have you, I'll have a salad. But, dude.....if I were a beer drinker I'd go broke here. Heck, I could go broke entrancing my self with the variations on the wines I enjoy. If you come in with your kids, true drunkard, your young up and coming alcoholic can enjoy quite the selection of bottled pop. I do love me a bottled Coke or Fitz's Orange Creme. They have an excellent selection, but with that selection comes and an increase in price. I like the fact that if I am looking for something specific they are usually a good go to, but I have to want it pretty bad before I cough up the dough. Closest thing to booze heaven I can find out here in STL. Wide selection of Wine, Beer, and Liquor. Beer selection is pretty good. Have a nice mix of overseas beers as well as local brews. Some of the beers are a little on the pricey side as well as the liquor. Great place to find some new beers to try. read more

HORRIBLE treatment from Management and Corporate. We pre-ordered a keg for a party as we do every month. When we went to pick it up they informed us they had forgotten to order it. They were very unapologetic, did not offer any solution or discount to remedy their error. I called the Corporate Office and was told to gp shop at one of their competitors from now on!!!!!!!!!! I have never been treated so rudely and they were the ones who left us in a bind 2 hrs before our party without a keg!!!!! If I could I would rate them ZERO stars. read more

I don't disagree with many of the comments in the reviews but there are a few things about the place that only make me a casual visitor. On more than one occasion I have asked about a wine - only to be told that "I'm the beer guy" - so not much interest from them in assisting. The variety and selection are great - but I have noticed that wines such as Sauvignon Blanc which are usually a very young wine - and currently selling the 2012-2014 vintages.. However a few of the SB's at Friar are 2010 - which is way too old for a SB wine. Nice Try Friar on that one. Like I said many good things about the place - but be aware the staff can be snotty and going the the motions - which you won't run into at a smaller wine shop - and they do sell old wines - for wines which are best served young read more

I recently had a very unsatisfactory experience at the Fenton Friar Tuck. I had earlier purchased a Brewer's Best (BB) home brew equipment kit, plus a BB igredients kit for American Pale Ale. Cost for both was in excess of $ 125.00. I followed all directions to a T but after 72 hours there was no fermentation. Evidently the yeast packet in the ingredients box was dead. I returned to the store and explained my situation to the store manager. He called someone on the phone (their brew guru?) and he told me to wait another 2 days to sure and then add another packet of yeast. I assumed that they would give me another packet of yeast to replace the defective packet but I was wrong. The manager said I would have to buy it and also said, "well, I just can't give product away." That comment really got me P.O. Their customer service was terrible. After waiting 2 additional days and still no fermentation, I decided to go to St. Louis Wine & Beer Making. Their workers were very knowlegeable and recommended that I pitch the yeast again to try and save my batch. I purchase a packet of Wyeast. It was refrigerated, unlike at Friar Tuck where the yeast is just on their shelves, even though it says to store between 40* - 50* F. The Wyeast worked great and I had fermentation very quickly. I used to purchase beer all the time at Friar Tuck and that is where I saw the home brew equipment. Now after their terrible customer service I will not buy anything from them again. They have lost a long term customer over 1 package of yeast. I hope my experience is not typical but if it is, I predict they won't around very long. read more
