This review for Fresno Flight Training is a long long overdue. I met Marty early June 2022 on a Sunday afternoon. I have been reading reviews about all the FLight schools in the Fresno Clovis area and something struck me about Fresno Flight training, everyone kept talking about this Marty guy! I grabbed my 12-year-old son and drag him out there and walked in the front door and just as you would imagine, there was Marty! I knew it was him before he introduced himself. Next thing I knew he had my son and I in his training room, telling us all about what it takes to become a private pilot and what differentiates his school for many others across the nation. Before we left that day, I ended up on a discovery flight while my son road around the airport with Marty on the golf cart. It was a great day and I was hooked. Now a lot has happened since then but fast forward almost 14 months. This past Thursday, July 20 I passed my private pilot check ride and achieved a lifelong goal of becoming a pilot. Just this morning I took my dad out for an almost 2 hour flight over Millerton and Pineflat Lakes. I could go on and on about Marty, his wife, Susie, and all the instructors and people I have met at Fresno Flight training not to mention truly excellent and comfortable facilities and a fleet of well-maintained and safe training aircraft. Truly a wonderful place with great people , an incredible community to be a part of. I am just a normal late 40 -year-old guy who is married with a few kids. If I can do this, anyone can do it. If you're reading this review it's because you have also had this interest and maybe for a very long time. I encourage you to head out to Fresno, Flight Training, and introduce yourself to Marty and Susie. You will not be disappointed. Like Warren Miller used to say in his ski videos " if you don't do it this year, you will be one year older when you do". Upon posting the above review, I read the three negative reviews from the 3 past employees. So I would like to add this, their reviews and comments are preposterous, and mostly outright lies! I know who each of these characters are and the issue is not with Marty and the flight school it lies with them. While they may be "professional pilots"having done the schooling and training, they are children! All three of them! Immature, irresponsible, unappreciative, and mostly entitled children! I know how they are treated, I know that they were paid all winter when the weather conditions did not allow for flying. I'm embarrassed for them as they're going to have some tough times ahead if they really expect to have their asses, kissed by their employer. Think about the responsibility of running a Flight school, sending instructors in their early 20s up in airplanes with people of zero aviation experience. The fact is, if rules are not followed, if details are not paid attention to, people will die! I am an employer myself, and cannot imagine the responsibilities of running a school like this. Regarding the cost, aviation is not cheap! Everything is more expensive today than it was just a few years ago, big shock! But I guess if mom and dad have been paying for your training or you are a student loans, you wouldn't know that at 23 years old. Honestly, the last place I would ever want to go cheap is my flight training. I enthusiastically recommend anyone and everyone who has any interest whatsoever in aviation to go out and meet The people at FFT. Go find out for yourself. I have done all of my flight training so far with this school, and I almost got to my private pilot check ride but other things got in the way of that. Besides, that is not a reflection on the flight instructors here because they were amazing! Particularly Alex, he was able to get me from zero hours to check ride ready within under three months! As long as you keep up with your end of work, he will get you fully ready for a life in aviation! read more

Took my son there today for a discovery flight for his 10th birthday, and my wife and I were more than impressed. The owners were very nice, and everyone was so excited to have our son there. I wrote a review quite a long time ago in support of this flight school. There are many ways to earn your pilot certificates for those who seek a PPL for recreation or those who seek Commercial Multi-Engine for career oriented customers. During my time here I was employed as the Chief Flight Instructor for two years and am currently employed with a major airline. These are my current credentials: Gold Seal CFI, CFII, IGI, UAS, ATP MEL with two jet type ratings, Commercial ASEL, Part 135 and part 121 experience, Bachelor Aviation Science with minor in Meteorology, graduated Summa Cum Laude with 4.0 GPA. I am updating this review to address the negative comments written by instructors who were let go due to operational circumstances so that future students can rest assured that this flight school is a safe, efficient, and viable place to earn your flight certificates whether you are seeking a PPL for recreational or commercial purposes. My responsibilities included the development of the syllabus, scheduling of maintenance, overseeing instructor proficiency, scheduling, record keeping, flight check outs, quickbooks, etc. Safety is above all at all times and I have never worked for an aviation employer that does not live by this mentality. I can say however that the aviation industry has changed dramatically since 20 years ago. In the current age, many instructors are under 30 years old, some who cannot stand teaching or cannot remember what it was like to be new. Marty (owner) will not maintain employment with individuals who demonstrate a poor attitude or disregard for the learning process. Attitude is everything and Fresno Flight Training does it's very best to employ instructors who are positive, patient, and competent. Flight instruction is expensive... everywhere... be on high alert for cheap instruction that seems like the best deal..... I urge you. There are reasons why it is cheap. As the student you deserve quality instructors who are positive and care about your new adventure. I have a private pilot certificate with instrument rating and I wanted to see what it was like flying a complex aircraft with variable pitch propeller and retractable landing gear. I contacted the Marty Bevill of Fresno Flight Training, Inc. and he explained his background and philosophy and the aircraft he had available. I really liked the ground school time: I had already read the relevant chapters of the Jeppeson Instrument/Commercial Book and the FAA Airplane Flying Handbook before starting but there still were some aspects of how the systems worked that baffled me. All my questions got answered by Marty's ground schooling and he stressed understanding the aspects of the systems that were most important for me to learn. He didn't focus on memorizing rules of thumb or Regulations but rather he stressed the "how" and the "why". To support this type of learning he prepares his own visual aids which were quite good! Overall, his ground schooling was the best by far of any flight schools I have attended. We did our training flights in his Piper Arrow PA-28R-180. It has completely upgraded avionics and including brand new round gauges, a Garmin 530W GPS and a 3 axis autopilot. Some instructors prefer to minimize the use of automation, but Marty encouraged me to get as much situational awareness out of my iPad and the cockpit automation system as possible. I'll be coming back very soon for more complex aircraft training, my biennial flight review, and to train to become a better IFR pilot. read more
