Besides, that is not a reflection on the flight instructors here because they were amazing! Particularly Alex, he was able to get me from zero hours to check ride ready within under three months! As long as you keep up with your end of work, he will get you fully ready for a life in aviation!

This review for Fresno Flight Training is a long long overdue. I met Marty early June 2022 on a…read moreSunday afternoon. I have been reading reviews about all the FLight schools in the Fresno Clovis area and something struck me about Fresno Flight training, everyone kept talking about this Marty guy! I grabbed my 12-year-old son and drag him out there and walked in the front door and just as you would imagine, there was Marty! I knew it was him before he introduced himself. Next thing I knew he had my son and I in his training room, telling us all about what it takes to become a private pilot and what differentiates his school for many others across the nation. Before we left that day, I ended up on a discovery flight while my son road around the airport with Marty on the golf cart. It was a great day and I was hooked. Now a lot has happened since then but fast forward almost 14 months. This past Thursday, July 20 I passed my private pilot check ride and achieved a lifelong goal of becoming a pilot. Just this morning I took my dad out for an almost 2 hour flight over Millerton and Pineflat Lakes. I could go on and on about Marty, his wife, Susie, and all the instructors and people I have met at Fresno Flight training not to mention truly excellent and comfortable facilities and a fleet of well-maintained and safe training aircraft. Truly a wonderful place with great people , an incredible community to be a part of. I am just a normal late 40 -year-old guy who is married with a few kids. If I can do this, anyone can do it. If you're reading this review it's because you have also had this interest and maybe for a very long time. I encourage you to head out to Fresno, Flight Training, and introduce yourself to Marty and Susie. You will not be disappointed. Like Warren Miller used to say in his ski videos " if you don't do it this year, you will be one year older when you do". Upon posting the above review, I read the three negative reviews from the 3 past employees. So I would like to add this, their reviews and comments are preposterous, and mostly outright lies! I know who each of these characters are and the issue is not with Marty and the flight school it lies with them. While they may be "professional pilots"having done the schooling and training, they are children! All three of them! Immature, irresponsible, unappreciative, and mostly entitled children! I know how they are treated, I know that they were paid all winter when the weather conditions did not allow for flying. I'm embarrassed for them as they're going to have some tough times ahead if they really expect to have their asses, kissed by their employer. Think about the responsibility of running a Flight school, sending instructors in their early 20s up in airplanes with people of zero aviation experience. The fact is, if rules are not followed, if details are not paid attention to, people will die! I am an employer myself, and cannot imagine the responsibilities of running a school like this. Regarding the cost, aviation is not cheap! Everything is more expensive today than it was just a few years ago, big shock! But I guess if mom and dad have been paying for your training or you are a student loans, you wouldn't know that at 23 years old. Honestly, the last place I would ever want to go cheap is my flight training. I enthusiastically recommend anyone and everyone who has any interest whatsoever in aviation to go out and meet The people at FFT. Go find out for yourself. And feel free to message me directly through this app. I would be pleased to discuss any of this with anyone. And as for the past disgruntled punk employees, grow up!

Okay so after a while of not flying, about 2 years it was really hard to get myself to a school and…read moredo my flight review. Their responsiveness on Facebook and their help to find an AME in the area is what got me there Yesterday! First let me start off by saying they got an amazing Lobby, clean bathroom, delicious snacks and drinks and a very professional environment, Bakersfield Municipal airport is a very small airport but the facility is a hidden Gem for General aviation pilots at least. in General interested people in aviation often hesitate to contact a school or just walk in and check it out due to the rumor of high cost and difficulty of flying, if you are one of those, Please talk to them because I wasn't exactly loaded when I got my pilot license, you pay as you go and it will get done, once you are a pilot no one can take that away from you(well unless you really go above and beyond to ask the FAA for it lol). I honestly think if you really want to you anyone that is working can afford flying if you prioritize it over lets say a brand new car every 3 or 5 years. Now speaking of the instructors. Ask for Drew Yoder if you go there. He is such a great instructor that he will make you want to come back next day instead of next lesson whenever that is. Trust me i went through a few instructors before I got my License and I think once you get instruction from Drew you won't go through anyone else. Makes it feel so easy to fly, after 2 years of not flying i really felt i didn't know anything. At the end of the flying hour, It felt like there was never an interruption in my flying. I was flying at night , landing smoothly on a plane i only flew once before in an airport i literally never flew to. I think this sums it up as a first review, i decided to start this on yelp for them because i noticed there is no yelp reviews and they really deserve it over there!

They fly Cherokee 140s which are much more comfortable than the standard Cessna 152s used at many schools, and keep them in really good condition. The area in general is wide open for training and the nearest control tower field is 10 minutes away, with many more good airfields to the North for solo cross country and night flying. When it came time for the checkride the instructors all helped out, scheduling the DAR, helping me prep to meet the standards, stage checking along the way (which was very good prep for facing the examiner at the end) and polishing up all my rough spots. And the big bonus - they never locked down during the Covid scare, so there is literally no waiting list. Will hopefully be going back for my commercial license in the future.
