Buffalo Salad with Chicken
Dario S.

Came to this location located at the south west corner of Hwy 7 and Weston Rd for lunch as I was in the plaza running an errand. This plaza has many great lunch spots but decided on Freshii as I wanted something healthy. Menu consists of salads, wraps, bowls, soups, burritos, smoothies, juices and frozen yogurt. I decided on the Buffalo Salad with chicken add on which was made up of spinach and romaine, tomatoes, aged cheddar, carrots, celery, blue cheese, buffalo sauce and of course chicken. The salad was real great. It was very fresh and hit the spot. The location looked very clean and the staff was courteous and efficient.

Was excited to finally be able to try Freshii since I was in Vaughan and don't have one near me. Totally disappointed. From service to food. Only the decor is great. My first time here and the menu is rotating on the screen so I can't see it all. I asked the woman at the counter for a menu. She pointed to the screen. I said yes, but it's rotating so I can't see it all. She handed me a three sided tabletop brochure that had three different menu items on it. The line was getting long behind me so I ordered the chilli salad off the picture which had avocado on it. That plus a drink and tax was $12.14. Wow! Expensive for fast food but I thought ok, there's avocado. Watched my salad being made behind the glass. Watery chili. Romaine lettuce. 7 halves of cherry tomatoes. A spoonful of corn. Spoonful of shredded carrot. A whole handful of green onion which was totally overpowering. And spoonful of cheese. Then she shook the plastic bag the food was in, which totally wilted the lettuce and bruised all the tomatoes. I asked her about the avocado. She said I didn't order it. I said its in the picture. She said, no, extra. I said the young woman at the front desk didn't tell me that she just showed me the picture. The blonde woman who had made my salad pointed behind me to a table along the wall and said next time, check the menu. I was so shocked at the bad customer service I took my food and sat down. I ate the salad. It was ok - not very special. I was very excited about this brand when I read about it. Totally disappointed. And the staff at this location is SO unfriendly that I won't ever come here. And I don't think I'll try another one in Toronto. Too bad. One bad experience made me ai upset, I actually spent these last few minutes posting about it! Thumbs down.

After a long hike we were feeling energized and hungry so Freshii seemed like the ideal place to go for some healthy food. Ordered a green energy juice and a burrito. The juice was just like how I make jt at home and was energizing. The burrito was good but lacked flavour. There was siracha sauce on the table which saved the day. The sign on the door says it's closed Sunday's but it was open. Not sure what happened there.

Steer clear. Bowls half empty and when confronted he said it's "full" even though it's not. 20$ for cardboard tray.

Food is great. I'm guessing it's family owned. Not the greatest vibes from servers/cashiers.

Graceful Vegetarian Restaurant, located inside Splendid China Mall in Scarborough, serves Chinese…read morevegetarian dishes that (in my opinion) are way better than the ones served in similar Chinese vegetarian restaurants that I had been to elsewhere in the GTA. At Graceful, they actually offer dishes that contain no mock meat, such as straight tofu and bean curd varieties with fresh vegetables (as a non-meat eater, I'm not a big fan of mock meats). The food here seems to be a hit with both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The restaurant is easily spottable as there are huge signs and entrances from both outside and inside the mall. The interior is not very big - just one big room, but has a cozy and comfortable ambiance with Chinese decorations. There was a table with take-out snack and dessert items right at the entrance, where you can buy packages of cashew nuts, Chinese cookies, and glutinous rice-based snacks / desserts. Service was very friendly, quick, and much better than the service you'd find at most other Chinese restaurants anywhere else. We were presented with 3 menus: dim sum menu (where you mark the items you want to order yourself with a pencil), special dishes menu (with coloured photos), and the main menu (came in a paper booklet). We ordered a combination of dishes from the dim sum and main menus. DIM SUM - Vegetarian Shiu Mai: Loved it! The texture was very smooth and I could see the pieces of vegetables (maybe carrot, radish, water chestnut, mushrooms) in the shiu mai. - Mock BBQ Eel: We ordered this one just out of curiosity. This was my least favourite item out of the ones we ordered. It came out as cubed pieces of deep-fried gluten, covered in sweet sauce and a bit of sesame seeds. Not a fan of deep-fried stuff, and I didn't like the sweet sauce. It had zero resemblance (both visually and taste-wise) to eel (we didn't expect it to be... just wanted to see how this dish would turn out). - Mock Sliced Abalone Sashimi: This was okay, but it could do without the sauce. I liked the firm texture, just like abalone. It was served with a small dollop of wasabi (not needed, in my opinion). MAIN DISHES - Stir-Fried Tofu, Cabbage, Carrot, and Wood Ear Mushrooms: My absolute favourite dish here! We ordered it because I read another Yelp reviewer wrote that this dish was great, non-greasy, and non-oily. They were correct (thank you)! Glad we got this. The tofu was nice and firm with a chewy texture, and I loved all the vegetables that came with this dish. As a big fan of stir-fried cabbage and wood ear mushrooms, this was an easy win. I liked that it wasn't covered in thick sauce and not oily or greasy. - Egg Whites and Mock Crab Meat on Broccoli: Broccoli was a bit on the soft side, but I liked this dish for the combination of fresh vegs and a huge amount of lean protein (egg whites) on top. It was a big dish, and we got to take home some of the egg whites. - Crispy Egg-Free Noodles with Bean Curd Slices and Bitter Melon: This came with too much thick sauce (although I liked the black pepper), but the parts with the still-crispy noodles were good. The protein was actually called "Mock Beef" in the menu, but it was really bean curd slices. I liked the bitter melon the best in this dish, minus the sauce. Overall, this was a great place for Chinese vegetarian food. There was a wide variety of items to choose from, ranging from dim sum (small dishes) to larger main dishes, and all sorts of cooking styles (steamed, stir-fried, deep fried, soup, hot pot, etc.). In the fried rice section of the menu, it was written that they could make all of the fried rice vegan by omitting the eggs (good option for those who want them to be vegan). The 2 stand-outs of this restaurant were the quality and taste of the dishes (especially the ones with tofu / bean curd and actual vegetables), and the service. The gentleman who worked there (perhaps the manager or owner) really cared about his customers and acted like an owner - greeting us, making sure we were taken care of, giving us extra napkins and utensils when asked, explaining each dish that came out, and said goodbye as we were leaving. I plan on coming back to try some of their other dishes on the menu (still lots to choose from!).

The last time we dined at Graceful was in 2013 at their earlier location!…read more They've retained the same style/ambiance and furnishings INCLUDING superlative service. The interior design is reminiscent of the earlier location. If you're into a quiet, serene atmosphere and polite, considerate fellow patrons, this is the place for you. The food was as memorable as before! I had the freshly shucked corn jjeok (congee) which was a thin congee (always my preference), topped with mock ham. 10/10. Spouse had the mock sharks' fin soup - 10/10. We shared the "Korean style" napa cabbage with several mushrooms and taofu. It was outstanding and thankfully not loaded with cornstarch. 10/10. We splurged on "peanut filled dumplings" which contained minutely-chopped water chestnuts, chopped carrot and mushroom and the lovely crunchy peanuts. TEXTURE WAS SUBLIME and the TASTE outstanding. 10/10. Service: 10/10. Ambiance: 10/10. Highly, highly recommended.

Veggie Paradise specialises in Veg take-out (call ahead), Frozen/Dried meals and ingredients. I write "Veg" 'cause it may be even Vegan, as opposed to just Vegetarian. They also do custom vegan/vegetarian cakes/pastries. This place is run by 2 sisters and their workers. As soon as Sandra heard that I wanted something to eat, she prepped me with an Asian meal - as opposed to their other meals that are more popular amongst gwai-lo. Meal comprised of a soup (looked like Tom Yum, but not sweet/spicy), a separate plate with Rice, Bok Choy (chopped with garlic), & a portion of fermented Mustard Greens with Green Peas (this was medium spicy). The meal was tasty, yet rather homey as it wasn't overly salted. I really felt like I was eating at an aunt's house! This place is located in a rather industrial, catering to Vegans/Vegetarians (or people who just enjoy the occasional veg meal), so just call ahead if you want to order something! The sisters will even offer you a sample if it's available. :)

Found another wonderful vegan place to try with my friend!…read moreWe were extremely pleased with the quality of the food from the kitchen and it did not smell like oil in there at all. The place was not the cleanest and all the condiments were sticky. We were hungry and I was glad to see vegan Vietnamese restaurant so we decided to stay. We ordered papaya salad, vermicelli noodles with vegan pork and banh mi. We got a free cold tea which was a nice touch. The food came pretty quickly. The Banh Mi was small and for me was lacking in ingredients. I was eating mostly bread, just a small amount of meat and veggies were inside. Papaya salad was nothing I would expect. Did not like the sauce and the crushed peanuts on top were stale. The best was the vermicelli bowl. It was flavorful and fresh. The only thing is I would love to have more "meat". Not sure if they were trying to rush with the food before closing but I was a little disappointed with the taste. I would give them a second chance, maybe I just ordered wrong items.

IRating 4.5. had heard of this place from a friend. We were…read morein the neighbourhood so we stopped in for lunch. It is bright, clean and they have a wonderful menu of ALL vegan and gf food. Everything is made in house and nothing is deep fried and no refined sugar used.....so no guilt happy eating. They have an extensive dessert display and I had the peach crumble bar which was yummy! I shared the cauliflower wings with spicy sauce and arancini with cashew "blue" cheeze. Both were tasty and satisfying. I wanted the potato soup with coconut bacon but found it slightly bland and it just tasted like coconut chunks in the soup vs "bacon" flavour(likely seasoning dissolved off in the soup). I had the warrior "taco" which was basically a lettuce wrap. It was very tasty but difficult to eat snd messy. The sun dried tomato flavour was so good. I love lettuce wraps but need to find a clever way of eating it more neatly. Hubby and friend had the chickpea burger with baked sweet potato and regular fries. We all left satisfied and happy

My favourite vegan/vegetarian restaurant so far…read more I appreciate that they use real ingredients and abstain from refined sugars... I ordered the: 1. Falafel bowl: The tzatziki sauce tasted exactly like tzatziki sauce using yogurt etc. The falafels are baked and not deep fried. Con for me was the price - $16 is steep. 2. Pumpkin cheezcake: Absolute must get. I prefer this to regular cheesecake - sweetened with maple syrup. The crust is made from dates and maybe something else. The coconut whip cream is a nice substitute for the regular whip cream. GET THIS. 3. Oat cranberry walnut cookie: Get this - end of story 4. Double chocolate sweet potatoe cookie: This was a bit odd; It was not as satisfying as the oat cranberry walnut cookie. However, I still devoured it. Service: The ladies behind the counter were very helpful, and patient with me. The kitchen seemed a bit slow, given the restaurant was only 20% full. If I'm in Hamilton, I will definitely visit again.
