When placed an order, the server asked if we wanted all food together or as they are prepared. Our request was everything together. First came the Kulcha, five minutes later then paneer, five minutes channa samosa and so on. If weren't asked, we wouldn't have been upset. The Channa Samosa, Paneer, Kulcha and Saag is worthy of the price charged and quantity is too less in our opinion. The quality is the food is perhaps a bit different but other restaurants have similar quality as well. The prices are close to double of what we pay in a full service restaurant as well. The Chole and Saag was under on flavour for a Punjabi restaurant. Very mild and under seasoned. The quantity of Chole and Saag served with Kulcha and Makkai Roti was so less as well.

This spot serves really solid Egyptian food that tastes like it came straight out of someone's home…read morekitchen. I tried a variety of the meats and they were cooked to perfection--tender, flavorful, and well balanced with just the right spices and sauces. Nothing was dry, which made every bite enjoyable. Even though it was busy, the service was quick and very welcoming. The restaurant itself is spotless and clearly well maintained. They also offer traditional desserts like Om Ali, knefe, and rice pudding. If you want a more relaxed café vibe afterward, there's a café in the same parking lot run by the same owners with very comfortable seating and even a prayer room. Overall, a wonderful experience that definitely did not disappoint. I'll absolutely be back.

I remember looking over and thinking, "What is this place that's so full of life?" It was bustling with people and had such a great energy. I had never tried Egyptian food before, but I was feeling a little adventurous. I'm really glad I did. A few dishes were recommended, but I was told the Koshari is beloved in Egypt, so that's what I ordered. Be prepared for a bit of a carb coma, but it's absolutely worth it. It was delicious. The mix of pasta, rice, lentils, chickpeas, and crispy fried onions worked surprisingly well together, especially with the sauces they give you. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Toronto.

We have been to the OG VOI for more than two decades and have been really enjoying the restaurant…read more With the VOI we were very sure that food would be similar. We picked up some vegan chole, vegan eggplant, samosa, and vegan parathas, and tandoori rotis. The Chole and eggplant curries were very disappointing. Especially Chole - it tasted as it was made a novice and not a chef. Chole is such a Punjabi dish, that one is rarely disappointed. The eggplant curry was equally disappointing. It didn't taste as it came from a Punjabi restaurant. The spice level and even seasonings were completely off. The samosas were OK and so was the tandoori rotis. The Aloo Parathas again disappointing. Wondering how can one go wrong in making Parathas? Potatoes stuffed in between two bigger tawa rotis. That's how it tasted. We are not sure we are going back to this location ever again.
