When I was there, it was not very busy, so I got a table right away. The inside of the restaurant had a classy look to while still maintaining the Japanese aesthetic to it. The menu has so many more choices than I have seen any Japanese restaurant carry. From sushi and donburi bowls to Korean chicken and Fried Nori Tacos I actually had trouble deciding what I wanted because of how much there was to choose from. I ordered the Janjangmyun with the Crazy Boy Sushi Roll. The janjangmyun was fantastic overall. The noodles were great on their own, the caramelized onions were succulent, and the black bean sauce helps make everything in the dish taste exuberant. The sushi roll was fresh, crunchy, meaty and full of flavour. The service was nice, and I liked the waitress that served me. I really look forward to coming back to Noodle Road because I want to try their K-Pop Chicken the next time I come there. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Three stars are based on their fried rice and service. We paid about $45 with tips. Doesn't seem…read morelike much but it was for the quality and quantity of food. Soy garlic = unfortunately, this made me sick afterwards. Chicken was old and chewy. We knew it wasn't fresh because we've had endless amounts of Korean fried chicken at many places in Canada and in Korea. Batter was so thick, as if it was re-battered and refried. The chicken pieces were so tiny that they got lost in the batter. It was also too sweet. If you're not a fan of sweet fried chicken, don't order this. We didn't think soy garlic would be too sweet so we were quite disappointed and didn't want to send food back when many around the world barely have anything to eat. Fried rice = taste was fantastic but the portion was tiny for a plate that cost about $19! I was surprised to have onion and sauce served with it; never had it before but I didn't mind it. It didn't elevate the dish or did anything to it so it could've been left out. Service = good. The hostess was friendly. Ambience = it is small but clean. Nothing much to say about decor but what is most important is that the tables and dishes are clean.

The staff behind the counter were really nice and helpful. We ordered our food at the counter and then got a seat. To drink I got the pearls of jasmine tea and to eat I ordered the Blanchard rice bowl with chicken. My tea was really good, it had a nice smokey flavor with floral undertones. Terrific tea, I tried to chug it all before we had to leave so I didn't miss my flight. The rice bowl had a lot of different toppings and textures, everything was super fresh. The rice on the bottom was a little odd though, as it was soggy. It was described on the menu as coconut sticky rice, but it seemed more soggy and wet than sticky. Other than the rice the dish was very tasty. We had a nice quick lunch here.

I got a Santa Fe salad with grilled chicken and it hit the spot. Ordered it as takeout along with some other salads, a warm bowl, and a quesadilla. The food was made fairly quickly despite there only being one person behind the counter (who was nice and quick with her service). The place was well-lit and clean. The restroom was clean as well (thank goodness because I had to GO!) All in all, a great salad with a vinaigrette that punched nicely to create some dynamic flavors. I would have this again for sure.

So you can imagine how excited I was to find Bry's Filipino Cuisine while we were in Bellingham. It wasn't on our radar, but we looked at a map of where we were staying and not far from our hotel was a place called Bry's Filipino Cuisine just down a few blocks. We called over there, asking if they were dog-friendly and fortunately, they are. They offer outdoor seating right outside the entrance, which worked out perfectly. We visited for lunch and left with leftovers. The portions are huge and it's affordable! I can't remember the last time I had a meal in Bellevue with huge portions from a small business for $20. My partner and I both ordered the combination, which came with a little bit of everything for only $20. There was pork adobo, coconut chicken, grilled pork, lumpia, brussels sprouts, pancit and a large helping of white rice. I even asked the owner if he had bicol express, which he gave me a side of as part of the combo plate! After some chatting, it turns out the owner is from the Bicol region, which is where my mom's side of the family is from. Love it! It's been a long time since I've had some authentic Filipino food - and this hit the spot! The food was incredible, the owner was super friendly and the space outside allowed for our dog to join us. They even have a full bar where they serve cocktails with ube and pandan for a Filipino twist! I will definitely be back whenever I'm in Bellingham.

The second I normally don't like dark meat nor like Smoky stuff so the coconut chicken kind of put me off, but when I tried it, it was a perfect balance. All the food is perfectly seasoned, too. I normally add hot sauce to my food to give it a bit more flavor, but that wasn't needed here. The one thing to keep in mind is that their online menu isn't as updated as their actual menu. For example, the combo meal wasn't listed online, but they had it on the menu in the restaurant so if you want the full selection, you gotta be in person instead of using their online menu.
