I've been to Frenchie's Modern Nail Care in Charlotte a few times now (probably my 3rd visit), and…read moreit's quickly becoming my go-to spot. I usually book through ClassPass, which makes it an amazing deal, but honestly, I'd come here anyway because the experience is just that good. This time, I had Whitney as my nail tech and she was wonderful. She took her time, was super gentle, and gave me an incredible foot and leg massage--probably the best I've had at a nail salon. Something I really appreciated (and this might sound weird to some) is that Whitney was very quiet. I actually didn't feel like being social during my appointment, and she let me enjoy the service in peace without any pressure to chat. That made the whole experience even more relaxing. The salon itself is always spotless, calm, and quiet. I've never been when it felt busy or chaotic, which makes it feel like a little escape. Between the cleanliness, the vibe, and Whitney's great work, I'll definitely be back again.

After doing research on nail salons that focused on healthy nails & offered Dazzle Dry products, I…read moredecided to make an appointment. On a positive note, something happened on the morning of my appointment that caused me to stop removing my own gel polish. I called & was able to push my appointment time back and add polish removal to my service. I requested polish removal, manicure, Dazzle dry, & a design. Right before the polish removal started, I informed the nail tech that there was only gel polish on my nails. The gel polish was a little stubborn during removal. Imo, the polish just needed to be filed down a little more. The nail tech made the assumption that I had hard gel on my nails. I didn't. She then put a stronger polish removal that was applied the same way nail polish is applied. I had started removing some of my polish before the appt. My left pinky had the least amount of polish, but the same amount of remover was applied to that finger as was applied to fingers with more polish, and she started with my right hand. We'd discussed possibly switching to a gel mani. By the time she made it to my left hand, she was mentioning how my fingers were red, not considering that I'd mentioned the tingling. She thought it was best to stay with Dazzle Dry; not a problem. By the time we were towards the end of polish application, she mentioned that the designs used with Dazzle Dry would be different than the regular designs. I still had nail art as part of my requested service. She decided that my polish color choice didn't need a design. I was given the nail files & lotion used during my appointment. I'm still looking for a new nail salon, unfortunately. After this $80 appointment, I didn't believe Frenchies would be my new nail salon.

Today really stood out to me with my experience and their customer service and really taking their product/work seriously. I picked a bright pink (it was a brand new color) and it looked great but a little while after leaving the salon the color started to turn purple with markings (very odd). I called and told them what happened and sent photos and they said to come back and they would fix it. I arrived about 6:15 and waited, no problem they were busy. When it was my turn everyone was so kind and made sure I liked my new color, checked in and never rushed even though it was past closing and I'm sure everyone wanted to go home. They helped each other and it was a great vibe and teamwork. I am grateful for a place that stands by their product and wants to fix anything that may happen. Highly recommend this place!

I'm not sure if this was because it was a more sheer color and I only had two coats done, or if the bottle they used was straight up the wrong one. The manicure also chipped on day two which I was really bummed about. I would've gone back for a repair, but I was already out of town. Luckily because the color barely showed up on my nails it was hard to tell. I choose this spot because they have a healthcare worker discount which made it cheaper than other places, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Located across from the Charlotte Convention Center on the edge of uptown sits this very well decorated nail salon. They also have a location in South End, though I've never visited that one before. They offer beverages while you're pampered ranging from water to white or red wine. They usually have some pretty interesting things playing on their two large Roku TVs, mostly Netflix. Sometimes they'll have music playing; if they're not busy you can usually request whatever you want to hear! The staff is really cool here. They have a wide variety of nail colors from regular polish, gel polish and SNS. They really take their time when doing your nails and are very knowledgeable about nail health. This is the healthiest my nails have ever looked! One thing I will say is that there's a lot of nail techs rotating in this salon, thankfully when mine left I ended up in the hands of an even better one. It can be a little alarming falling in love with your nail tech and then not seeing their name to select the next time you try to book. I'm not too privy on what the situations are that causes the high turnover rate, I haven't noticed anything amiss. They also validate parking! Just ask the front desk whenever you're checking out for the validation slips. Just make sure you park on the second level of their garage! Not the Whole Foods parking lot.
