I was going to eat in my car once, but homeless people kept knocking on my window asking for money. This only happens at the Gadsden store. The Attalla and Glencoe stores don't have the homeless problem. Those stores are also cleaner. If you have time...drive to one of those stores.

That being said, this location is still really good. It may appear a little scary on the outside, they could definitely use a remodel including a dab of paint, and once you get inside it has the look and feel of a place that could use an overhaul. But, I would put this out there, this is the grocery store equivalent of a dive bar. Produce section isn't enormous, but they have everything you would need and the prices are upwards of 1/2 that of the other local places. Typical grocery store items through the middle, canned foods, boxed foods, etc, you know what you'll find in a grocery store. Where these guys really shine is their meat department. Great quality and really good prices. Always able to find some good options for cooking for the week. Highly recommend this place if you are anywhere in the area .... especially for their meat. Side note, if you are looking for bakery, this location is a little limited on their offerings (compared to the other two that I've been at).

A roll that is in almost every other Publix, not carried here. What a joke!!! 2 days before thanksgiving and no Publix broccoli casserole, is this no longer carried at this location???? Again a joke of a Publix!!! Can I get a container of mascarpone cheese at this Publix, hell no!!! Walmart had plenty!! This place only gets worse and worse every single year!!!! Either shut it down or make it a real Publix!!!! Shame on Publix!!!

Publix has become the leading name in the supermarket field here in the southeast. Once you…read moreexperience a Publix supermarket yourself, I am confident that you will understand how Publix has become such an iconic supermarket brand and has developed such a loyal customer base down here in the southeast. This particular Publix is located in the Shoppes at Rainbow Landing. They have a huge parking lot. The inside is bright and cheerful and this ambiance makes shopping more enjoyable. Publix has created a solid reputation by offering incredible customer service, great BOGO (buy one, get one free) deals, and we cannot forget their subs, which are affectionately known as "Pub Subs." Coming from New Jersey, a state known for their great subs, in a way, it hurts me to state that a supermarket has some of the best subs in the area. But it is also a 100% true statement. Publix subs are very good. My go-to sub is probably their Italian sub, which is truly a tasty offering. I also enjoy their roast beef and cheese sub. I would definitely recommend upgrading it by using Boar's Head meat. It is definitely worth the small upcharge. It is great to see Publix expanding beyond the boundaries of their home state of Florida and spreading throughout the southeast. Not only am I happy about it, but I am confident that the communities where Publix opens a location are very grateful for a Publix opening by them. I would definitely recommend this particular Publix location or any Publix location for that matter and I give it five stars.

As far as this location, nothing really stands out to differentiate them as above par or below par from other Walmart locations. Tons of parking, like you will find everywhere else. Huge store packed with shoppers like you will find anywhere else. Staff has always been friendly and accommodating. Prices are what you would expect to find at any other location. So this review is pretty standard, except I can say that I learned something new at this Walmart last Saturday. As we were walking with our items towards the Garden Center to check out, we were asked by an associate it we were ready to check out. I thought she was the check out person in Garden and was going to go back with us and take care of us. Nope! She was actually a mobile check out clerk. She had a buggy and a scanner and if we were paying via card, was able to check us out, bag our stuff and print a receipt. Pretty cool process actually. If you are used to Walmart then you will be familiar with this place. No issues and will continue to use for our shopping needs.

You have to generally donate a quarter for a buggy. The store does get crowded and the lines at check-out are long. The cashiers get you out quickly. You have to purchase bags, or they will give you cardboard boxes, and bag your own groceries. They once you load your car.....you have to take your buggy back or your out a quarter. In all fairness I don't think I realized that this was a food store, not sure I knew what it was, but I wasn't thinking food store. This place is really pretty cool. They have incredible prices on all sorts of regular household food items. Breads, produce, frozen food, canned food to name a few items, They also have household items like tp, paper towels, paper plates, charcoal, beer (some ciders I've never seen). Everything is at extreme discounted prices, and the seasonal items look like they get cheaper as you get further into that particular season so they can clear things out for the next items they need to get out. Note, they do have some brand items, but a lot of the things they sell are not specific brand names you will be familiar with. That being said, one example, the Salsa flavored tortilla chips, were they Doritos, no. Were they just as fresh and just as good, absolutely, but at about 1/2 the price. Will they be the solution for all your shopping needs, probably not. Could they cut a chunk off of your weekly shopping trip tab, yes! I will be checking these guys out more often.
