I used Fresh Start Moving for a recent move, and I was happy with their service. I interviewed several different moving companies to get quotes, and I was most impressed with John's presentation. He appeared at my home on-time, and he wore a company uniform. He is the owner of the company, and he was always very quick in replying to my many questions that I sent via email and text. He offered many helpful suggestions about where to find furniture blankets and other types of moving supplies. His company's website also had helpful moving tips and labels for boxes. Unlike some of the other companies I interviewed, he took the time to plan with me the timeline for the move, the pieces that needed to be moved and where they needed to go, the number of movers that would be needed, and the specific driving trips they'd take. He also discussed the coverage options that were available. He explained the coverage options that I could purchase outside of his company. I appreciated his candor and honesty when he gave me my quote. He said he predicted his quote would not be the lowest or the highest of the other quotes I received. He was correct. I compared his quote with the other quotes, and his seemed the most detailed and realistic. Some other companies gave lower quotes but included less hours. I felt those were not realistic quotes. John was upfront with me about how long he thought the move would take. He said it was possible the move could take less time but that he wanted me to at least be prepared for a worst-case scenario. I thought that approach was helpful and realistic. His crew arrived at my home on the date of my move on-time. They were efficient and friendly. Most importantly, they shrink-wrapped and taped all pieces of furniture to try to ensure that items would not be damaged in transit. Although John does not do the actual moving, he did appear at my home to drop off an item to the crew. I was happy with that because I saw that he was personally invested in the job. Further, he was always courteous and responsive in all of our communications, even after the move was over. In the end, the move took less time than the worst-case scenario, which was a plus. Still, I am glad he quoted the higher time amount, because that prepared me ahead of time for a possible worst-case scenario. He does accept credit cards, which was helpful. Not all of the companies I met with accepted credit. He charges a 3% fee for credit card transactions, which I found to be in-line with what the competitors I interviewed charged for credit. I asked for a receipt and he quickly emailed it to me. He did not charge me for mileage/travel time, which was nice. Some of the other companies I met with were going to charge me for mileage. He even accepted a coupon that I found after I had booked his company for the move. Overall, I certainly will consider using John's company again for my next move. We hired Fresh Start Moving Services for a large move after comparing them to many large and small competitors. The experience start to finish was awesome. John, the owner and his staff were very professional and nice to work with. They were not the least expensive out of the 4 estimates received and not the highest either. During the sales process, we found John to be the most professional, thorough, flexible and responsive out of all the competition who came out to provide estimates.
