UPDATE!! I caught a flight and tracked my belongs down. Everything but one item was there, crushed boxes, broken pictures, but I was FINALLY able to get my things with the help of the local police. Ladies and gentlemen I will post pictures of what I took and if you see your things call the authorities in the respective counties and get your belongings at either of these locations because who knows when you will get your stuff. I also believe things are in another place, but I don't have that address. In the Decatur location there are about 4 units I didn't get pictures of that had things in them. If 0 stars was possible, I would! I want to warn the public that this company under quoted me and movers that came to disassemble my belongings said it would be at least another $1,000!!! Mind you, they DID NOT bring tools to take a part any furniture, they had me call their bosses and try to work around this crazy extra charge! THEN the movers told me this "happens all the time" and they're the ones getting yelled at! (I cancelled their service and told them to leave) At this point, they still have my $500 deposit and have not yet refunded me, although there was no service complete! I have left numerous voicemails (every single number I've called does not get answered) This is extremely unprofessional and difficult during such an already stressful time! They don't seem to care that this is an outrageous jump in cost when my salesman told me he 'overestimated' number of boxes/size/etc. I'm extremely unhappy and will continue to reach out in every way that I can! At this point I just want to warn the public of such a terrible job on their part and to keep researching; this is not the company you want to use! The most unprofessional company I have ever used in my life. When they will speak to you over the phone, they won't let you know their hidden charges. Then they will literally rip you up and they don't accept cards either because of their unprofessionalism. They are well aware what kind of worst service they provide to their customers. They will ask you to transfer money in advance through zelle, and later in cash. They broke my furniture and I put my claim for insurance and now they are not even answering their phone. Working with them was not less than a nightmare for me. They over charged me also. I have decided to move to the court against them. This is the same company you can look up under "Adept Moving and Storage". Read the eight 1 star reviews on that Yelp page to get the full picture. They changed their name to continue to scam people, but it is the same two people running the scam, Taylor and Brian. We signed up for them to help us move from Tennessee to Virginia not knowing any better. First, they low ball you on the quote, and tell you they can have the move done within 3 days. Next, you will find your stuff doesn't arrive until 3 weeks later. They give you the run around every time you call, telling you to call Taylor, then call Brian, until you are wondering if you will ever get your stuff. As many others have mentioned under Adept Moving and Storage, before you can get your stuff they will demand twice as much money in cash. They GET NO STARS DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY My items were picked up from uhaul in Morrow GA on Tuesday Aug 18t, 2020. I found Fresh Start Moving through a card uhaul gave me with a website listing moving companies. I paid a deposit in June and was told a certain amount was due at pick up and the remainder due at drop off. The driver told my sister I went over units cubic and I'd have to pay an additional 1401 . My items are supposed to arrive here in Austin Texas no earlier than tomorrow Aug 21st and no later than Saturday Aug 22nd. BRIAN and TAYLOR count your days. Taylor called me on Wednesday stating he'd have to consult upper management to do something about the price and he'd call me back in an hour .He never called. Today is Wednesday, I've been calling and emailing each Atlanta based google voice number and the 800 number listed on the website and my invoice . BUYER BEWARE! I feel so dumb for not reading reviews before I accepted this moving company. I have the same story as everyone here. No response. Price increase after truck was loaded. Shattered a box of antique glassware and have had no communication regarding the insurance claim. Last time I've heard from these people was July 31st. My requested delivery date was July 25th. We are now Five weeks past that. And this morning I have realized that they have re-deposited the check I gave them at pickup after changing the check number! I have essentially paid these people $2600 to STEAL MY THINGS. Filed a police report for the check fraud, DOT complaint, BBB complaint, and now I feel like I need to contact a lawyer. read more

Do NOT use this morning company. My move was from GA to NH. I had a horrible experience and have had to pay 1000.00 home owners deductible due to their mishandling of my belongings! 1. Inventory Estimate doubled when belongings were put on truck. 2. I was told that I needed to provide 50% deposit when belongings were picked up and then when my belongings were on the truck they told me I had to provide 70%. 3. A week later than I was told to be delivered. 4. Movers told me they would be there between 5:30-6:00 am and got here at 10:00 am. 5. 98% of my belongings were RUINED! I had all new furniture and only one piece arrived the way it left, not to mention my washer and dryer being broken, I am having to replace all of it. I asked what they would do and they said nothing file the insurance claim and then stopped responding to me at all. 6. The insurance company they provided works ONLY through email...you cannot talk to anyone. Once providing all the documentation I was told I would know 'something' within 60-90 days - via email of course. Still haven't heard a peep from them 45 days later. I have since given up and contacting my homeowners insurance. Bottom line: This company only cares about getting your money and doesn't care at all about your belongings. They lease their trucks and sub out the moving to other companies...who care even less. I wish I had read these reviews before contracting with these dishonest people. I did look at the DOT page and they listed 2 complaints this year for being late, so I figured that would be a good rating. My daughter had to move from Georgia to Kentucky for her work. Our arrangements for a DIY move fell apart at the last minute. So I found Fresh Start Moving on-line. Kate, who I contracted with, was pleasant enough. Even though I thought we had a good estimate of the volume of her goods, the pick-up crew found a way to pack the truck such that there was half-again as much capacity as the estimate. Payment was $600+ more than what I was led to believe. Also, we were supposed to receive a copy of the invoice, the pick-up crew kept the paperwork. And, the pick-up crew stated that her move would be in Ky in 2 days...15 days later, her goods arrived. I tried calling the company at the numbers I had repeatedly (2 to 4 times a day), and received no response, sometimes they picked up and hung up. Finally spoke to Tim. He was somewhat apologetic for not answering my calls but was not able to answer my question of delivery, nor did he return my calls when he said he would. Tim said her goods would be delivered the upcoming Saturday or Sunday. Fresh Start was a no show. Finally we received a call that my daughters goods would arrive on Wednesday or Thursday. Of course it was Thursday. A lone driver stopped outside her apartment complex in an 18 wheel truck and stated he couldn't negotiate the parking area and we would have to pay more to complete the move. One more rip-off/theft. I even had to help the driver move the couch and chair to keep them from being damaged, although I noticed the couch did have damage as we brought it inside her apartment. The driver had someone from the company named Taylor on the phone, I asked him who he was, he said a manager. I told him he was late, he denied, actually yelling at me. Sadly, many of her dishes were broken, to include a cup collection which she had assembled while studying in Europe. Her desk was broken, her desk chair missing. Her kitchen/pub table looked like it had been drug around on its edges. Her kitchen/pub chairs were missing. Only half of her papa-san chair arrived, the base and futon missing. An antique floor lamp her now deceased grandfather had given her was missing. A box of designer brand coats, a box of designer brand shoes and boots, and a box of designer brand hand-bags and purses is missing. I'd like to file for the insurance but I don't know how. My friends used this company at the beginning of September. Of course their stuff never got delivered. They were yanked around by this company just like everyone else. If you are still looking for your things, it is most likely in the uhaul facility in Decatur, GA or Norcross, GA. They also have a storage facility in Doraville, GA called Self Storage. Call the "owner" Tim from an unsolicited number and ask him to tell you where your things are and go pick it up yourself if you are able to. They hired their own movers and rented a uhaul and showed up with officers to make sure everything went smoothly. They finally have their things. Some items were broken or damaged. THE WORST MOVINF EXPERIENCE EVER, DON'T RECCOMEND AT ALL. PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS FRAUDULENT COMPANY. THEY PROBABLY PAID FOR THEIR 5 STAR REVIEWS ON OTHER SITES. I had a friend move from Florida to VA, they said her stuff would be in within a week (21 day limit though per contract), things didn't arrive for almost a month! When the movers got here, it was 2 men in a damn uhaul. They held her things hostage for 2 hours in my driveway until she paid them another 3k, and they would not accept credit or card. RED FLAG. They begin unloading stuff and you can tell these men are not professional movers, asking the men in the household for help. Upon unloading, there was over 5k in damages to her bedroom suite, over 20 missing boxes, an entire missing jewelry box containing her deceased mother's jewlrey. Each box was damaged and falling apart. Roaches were found in the boxes we received from whatever wharehouse her things were stored. We also ended up with numerous items that did not belong to her. After working through and trying to locate her belongings the only thing we have recovered is her jewlrey box and tbis is from our own means. She tried and tried to get into contact with your company to which you've ignored her. Today was the first day she was able to make contact and you call her a cunt and a bitch??? So unprofessional. They told me that I had way more stuff than the estimate and would not be able to tell me how much until it was loaded on the truck. At that point, what was I to do??? Still wonder if they would have unloaded it if I said NO not paying that, so unload it!!!! My stuff did make it to its destination with two to three missing boxes, missing ladder and other pieces, and broken items. The final crew was late by 5 or so hours and I had to call them to see when they were coming. They lied and had a "manager" call me at 9:30 pm to harass me into accepting the delivery so late..... they finished just before midnight. There's more but what's the point.
