We had previously taken our younger 3 kids off the team due to inexperienced coaching, rapid coach turnover, and bad accounting where our bills were regularly wrong so I'm not sure if the refusal to pay was some sort of retaliation. Now we swim at CAT and have none of these issues with better coaching and better facilities.

We were a little on the fence about hiring a doula since this was our second baby, but we really wanted that holistic, nurturing care that a hospital alone can't always provide -- and Nomarie was exactly what we'd hoped for. I'm not what you'd call a "country granola" type of mom -- I went into this birth fully planning on (and very much wanting!) all the pain relief and medical support. But there's still such an important place for a doula in that environment. Nomarie helped bring warmth, connection, and a truly holistic touch to what could have otherwise felt like a very clinical experience. From the very first meeting, she made us feel comfortable, supported, and truly heard. She took the time to understand our hopes for the birth and was such a calming, confident presence every step of the way. When labor began, Nomarie was our angel -- grounding us through every contraction, guiding my partner on how to support me, and helping us navigate all the twists and turns that came our way. Even when things got complicated after our baby was born, she never left our side. Her steady reassurance and calm energy made us feel safe and less scared during a really overwhelming moment. However, the overall experience with this school was frustrating and poorly handled. First, it is extremely difficult to schedule driving sessions with this school. Getting drives scheduled was unnecessarily complicated and took a lot of back and forth. Another major issue was their record keeping. After one of my son's drives, the instructor accidentally put another student's results on my son's account, showing that he had passed when he actually had not. That is a serious mistake and felt very unprofessional. On his final drive he did pass with a 90%, and the instructor that day was very nice. However, he was never given a certificate or any documentation. The next day I logged into his account and it showed he passed. I called the school to ask what we needed to take him to the DMV and was told we would receive an email and could go to the DMV in three to five days. Eight days later we had still received no email, no certificate, and nothing in the mail, but other parents said the DMV should already have the information, so we went anyway. When we got to the DMV, they had no record at all that my son had completed driver's education. The DMV told me to call the school. When I called, they had to look up his account and gave me a "confirmation number," saying that should work. The DMV told me they cannot use confirmation numbers and the completion was still not in their system. The DMV staff then had to call the school themselves. After several minutes of the DMV speaking with them, the school finally sent the completion information over correctly so my son could proceed. We paid almost $700 for this program, and the amount of confusion, poor communication, and runaround we experienced was unacceptable. I have another child who will need driver's education soon, and after this experience, we will absolutely not be using this school again. I…read morelive in Camas and didn't want to have to make a long trek to an appointment with a new baby. Lo and behold they do house appointments! I'm new to this whole baby thing, and I guess this is a pretty normal service, but I was even more happy to find that out. Jessi came to visit me soon after birth to diagnose tongue tie and helped me get an emergency appointment with Dr Ghaheri for surgery to correct it and got us on the path to breastfeeding. I was nervous about the whole process, but Jessi kept in contact with me throughout the following weeks and helped me through the process. Right how we are 4 days post surgery and already breastfeeding with a nipple shield, and I feel confident that we will be fully breastfeeding soon. I couldn't be happier with Doula My Soul, they are a great support for our family. I plan on trying belly binding as well.
