The things I've ordered most are almonds, walnuts, pecans, dried apricots, mango, prunes, brazil nuts, cashews. Pretty much any whole food they sell is excellent. Whatever nuts you can buy in high end supermarkets like Whole Foods are awful compared to this, and often rancid (you don't realize until you've had actual good quality). Even when I buy almonds at farmers markets or the most high end boutique organic shop in LA, I always find occasional bitter almonds. I have honestly never had a bitter almond from here, which is kind of amazing because I've gone through huge amounts of them over the years. Especially if you know how to soak/sprout nuts and seeds (Nourishing Traditions style), these are the best tasting nuts and seeds you can eat. What made me think of these guys at the moment is I found a small oil press I want to buy so I can press my own nut and seed oils at home. The stuff supermarkets (and even most gourmet shops) sell is awful and too refined to be nutritious. For the quantity of nuts and seeds I will need, this would be my supplier.

We purchased our tickets months in advance and planned to attend with another couple. Unfortunately, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer and is now undergoing chemotherapy. Given the circumstances, the other couple reached out to the organizers to explain our situation and ask if a refund for two of the four tickets would be possible. Rather than directly answering the refund request or showing any understanding of the situation, they ignored the question entirely and simply responded that the tickets could be resold if desired. He also mentioned returning the money during a difficult time, which made it even more disappointing that they did not address our request directly or offer any meaningful assistance. They did not offer an alternative solution, such as allowing us to attend a future event when my wife is feeling better. We understand that businesses have policies, and we weren't expecting special treatment. We were simply hoping for a little compassion and a straightforward response during an incredibly difficult time for our family. Being told to resell the tickets instead of receiving a direct answer or a reasonable alternative felt dismissive and impersonal. Unfortunately, we were unable to sell the tickets, and they are now going to waste. This is especially disappointing because October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. For an event centered around food, community, and the farm-to-table experience, we expected a more thoughtful response. Unfortunately, this interaction left us extremely disappointed in how Sage Hill Ranch Gardens handles customers facing unexpected and serious medical circumstances.

After a thorough inspection, they confirmed that a new heater was required. (our aging heater was not starting and it was leaking water badly) What I really appreciate is the fact that they took the time to discuss several options for a replacement. They asked how we used the spa, how frequently, etc... then gave us a few options from a basic replacement to a higher quality unit with all the bells and whistles. At NO TIME did they try to "up-sell"us into a more expensive unit. In reality it was the opposite. After discussing how we use our spa, he learned that we NEVER use the heater to heat our pool and only use it to heat the spa. With this info, coupled with the fact that we were likely going to be moving within a year or two, he suggested a smaller heater that was sized for spa-heating only. This saved us over $600 on the unit. The honesty and integrity of CCC Pool service just one of their strengths. Add to this, their highly skilled tech team, and their singular focus on customer service. I wish that I new about CCC Pool Service years ago! If you have any pool or spa needs, I highly recommend CCC Pool Service. They are the best in the business and they will treat you fairly with the utmost of integrity.

I'm always suspicious of businesses with a straight 5 star rating on Yelp. After my experience with Eastman I can see how they've earned their high rating. This is a mom & pop business. Geoff and his wife (Anna) own it and run it with kindness, decency and warmth. Their yard workman, Alberto, is lovely to deal with too. Alberto cheerfully helped me finish shoveling my soil mix into bags for me, I'm a regular at Costco. Love the place. Eastman Soil Amendments is even a BETTER deal than Costco for their potting soil mix. Bonus Tips: 1) Bring a roll of plastic garbage bags to shovel your soil into. They'll kindly lend you a shovel and buckets you can fit your bags into. 2) Double your plastic bags. Even if you think they're sturdy. Trust me on this. 3) DON''T overload your bags of soil. Trust me on this one too. 4) Bring more garbage bags than you think you'll need. 5) Bring some form of music to keep you company while you load your bags.
