Awesome place to grab a bite and beer. Mostly Local food and people too, which is kind of nice.

Definitely a must-visit when in Copenhagen! Honestly, I could have eaten most of my meals at this…read morefood hall and would have been so content. TorvehallerneKBH is in a great location nearby a major subway station and very walkable, and it has a nice combination of indoor & outdoor places, along with a great variety of food for whatever mood you are in for. Plus, there is a wide variety of prices too for any budget. There are various wine/alcohol vendors that let you try samples and have a drink while walking around to the other vendors. We went to a fish vendor and had excellent cooked mussels, raw oysters, and salmon tartare. We also tried a French vendor and tried some delicious duck sandwiches and bread with burrata cheese. You can also buy fresh produce, desserts, and food souvenirs to bring home. TorvehallerneKBH was a highlight of our trip, and I highly recommend coming by!

WHAT A LITTLE GEM! 4.6…read more As we strolled around the area of our hotel, we came across this lovely neighborhood market. Flower stands with freshly cut flowers and an abundance of vegetable crates colored the exterior of the building's grounds. The enclosed building is made from beautiful glass and metal, with the inside feeling open and airy, making it feel a bit like a greenhouse with its natural lighting. We found an assortment of shops offering meats, condiments, pastries, baked goods, coffee, fresh seafood, pastas, prepared salads, sushi, lunch spots, cured meats, nuts, beer, wine, fresh herbs, sandwiches, caviar, ice cream, cheeses, housewares and gift items; quite the assortment here! The only thing that was difficult to find were non-food gifts for our friends that were actually made in Denmark. Most were manufactured overseas. We stopped and had a wonderful lunch at the very popular Hallernes Smørrebrød, seated at their bar. This market is definitely worth a visit.

Great selection of all sorts of ethnic food stuffs. It's a little mind bending to me that this…read morerelatively small shop can pack so many things onto its shelves: middle eastern, african, indian, chinese, filipino....and so on. Now that I've had the chance to go a few times and really look at the shelves, I've realized that the more time I spend in there, the more things I find. It's really a great shop to explore. Part of the fun of this shop is the incredibly wide variety of ethnic foods they carry. (Yes, I think grocery shops are fun...and the more variety the better). These guys seem to have no sign over their door. At first I thought they were just a part of Afghan Marked which has their door at the street corner because their outside veggie stands makes it look like one continuous shop. But they're not! And Kabul, which has their entrance just a few steps further down Reventlowsgade is better part of the strangely conjoined Afghan/Kabul store front. Some random things that I was happy to find here are salt-free 100% peanut butter, Shana brand frozen paranthas, loose and bagged Ahmad teas. Not that you can't get these things at other places, but rarely are you going to find a one-stop shop for them. Frozen seafood selection is also good. Often there are cheap cheap 1 kilo bags of large shell-on tiger shrimp for half the price you would pay anywhere else. Seriously good stuff. The spice and fresh veggie selection is also impressive compared to other CPH ethnic shops.

Are you from Southeast/South Asia?…read more Chance that you can find things you miss from home here. I know I do. I found the well-known bumbu bamboe spice packets here and of course the famous instant noodle product of my country - Indomie. I can't help liking Kabul marked solely for this purpose. What do you do to people who carry the stuff from home eh? That said, Kabul is also providing other stuff too, hence the cramped space. Prepare to squeeze yourself into nothingness when trawling those aisles looking for some exotic stuff from far far away. This place has the things that you probably have read in your recipe book somewhere. Simply said, Kabul marked is my saviour when I'm craving stuff from home the most

So happy we found this place while waiting for our train ride to Sweden…read more Egg wraps are an inventive way to make the wrap keto style. The egg wrap is nicely seasoned and thick enough to hold all of the stuffing in the "burrito". Everything is freshly made right before your eyes. The veggies were crunchy and went well with the egg wrap's taste.

Not sure if this location is open during the stay-in-place order, but Torvehallerne (the market) is…read morestill open for takeaway. I ordered The Duck (burger and chips) and it took a bit over 35 minutes, which I noticed (as I was sitting there) was a bit of a consistent issue. It's not that bad, but it is a bit long of a wait. Just heads up if you're on a timetable, this might be a risk. If you're not, then you're probably safe to order and wander around or shop for a bit. Just ask how long it'll take when you order. Palæo renowned for being the first restaurant chain where you can go 100% paleo. As the name implies, their menu is focused on a paleo diet aka. the Stone Age Diet. Essentially, that means they're avoiding anything that processed or refined, and they're known for being 100% paleo. However, they do have items and options that don't adhere to it. This includes items like beer, coffee, and cheese, and they're all separate things that you must specifically order. It's just a very convenient spot if you're on paleo, lactose-free, or gluten-free diets. They have around 8 locations, and this particular one is a stall in Hall 1 of Torvehallerne Copenhagen market halls. This corner location means they have a lot of little tables suited for parties of one or two as well as counter seating, and during when I was there, there wasn't really anyone competing for seating. Overall, I thought the flavors were pretty great. My favorite thing in The Duck was the perfectly crisp fries and the accompanying sauce. I also liked the duck confit itself, but after a while, I just couldn't get into that bread substitute that was used as the buns. An interesting restaurant and I super appreciated that things are cooked to order as well as certain parts of what I ordered. However, while I was super excited about when I first saw it (something new to try), I just wasn't as enthusiastic about it afterward. In the end, it added to the experience of coming to such a trendy market and is an experience, but just not my cup of tea.
