If I could give 3.5 stars for the job itself, I would. First, the good - he was very responsive during the quote process, sent a good scope of work and contract via email, and used quality paint. He and his helper showed up on time, and were kind, courteous and professional. I really enjoyed chatting with both of them. The price quoted was fair and reasonable. In writing, Larry said that he'd be spraying the kitchen cabinet doors, which I preferred to brushing; however, there was no sprayer used for my kitchen. I let it go because the doors were not showing brush strokes but wanted to note because the job was not done as described. My second concern relates to attention to detail during the painting process. Some touch ups are to be expected (though, see below), but there was a level of sloppiness that I didn't expect from a pro. Primarily, they used spray primer along the base of the cabinets, which has left white spots along the moulding and in some spots, on the hardwood floors. And not taping has left some sloppy lines and paint on things like appliances and the backsplash. But all of this could have been addressed if Larry had come back for the touch up that was promised. I needed about a month between the cabinet painting and the touch up to take care of some personal matters, and Larry was responsive and confirmed the new date. Texts to re-confirm a few days before and on the day of went unanswered, as did a call. After a number of texts, Larry finally responded on July 28, the day after our scheduled appointment, and said he was having car trouble and couldn't get out to my home. I let him know it was fine, and to just keep me posted. I have not heard from him since then (over a month) despite sending additional messages.

We also wanted to get a new countertop, which they do not do, but Luis referred us to someone else who was equally as responsive and efficient. The whole project took under one month from getting a quote to finishing the job. We were very pleased with the process! One thing to note is that while the quote is indeed on the lower end of what is out there, the work might not be considered absolute perfection. (e.g. paint might be a touch uneven in some areas; some difficult corners of kitchen have a bit of a rougher cut on the tile but still patched with grout) For me though, it was not an issue because I do still think the job was worth 5 stars for the value. From start to finish, the entire process was professional and as smooth as it could be for a multi room home renovation. The initial consultation process was especially helpful because they work with a great design team where you can really see how the materials will look together. The duo of Renata and Andre both have great ideas from both a function and design perspective but still try to accommodate the budget. They provide visuals before committing to the project and they were flexible enough to change the layout to our liking several times - we could be pretty honest about what we wanted or not. The outcome was pretty exact to the final renderings. We were given regular updates on the progress, any unexpected issues, and how they were being addressed. Traylor was always upfront about timelines and costs, which helped avoid any unpleasant surprises later on. They document every detail in an organized way so it is never unclear. It was a big project for us so, yes of course, we had add-ons and spent more than expected but that was not their pushing but more our choices. Of note, the project was definitely completed on time but we also had a VERY flexible timeline. Still I got the impression they always push forward to stay on track. The craftsmanship was exactly what we had hoped for and we have already gotten compliments on the transformation of our home. Post-renovation, the customer service has remained excellent. When I had a minor issue with a cabinet handle and drawer, they sent their main point person and construction team again to fix it at no additional cost. We removed the wall between the kitchen and the tiny dining room, and Traylor rerouted HVAC, relocated plumbing, updated electrical, and installed cabinets, counters, and new flooring. The transformation has made a huge difference in how we use our home. The quality of the work is solid, especially given the price--which is truly hard to beat. The team was professional, punctual, and respectful throughout the process. They cleaned up daily, which we really appreciated. Renata and Livia were always responsive, and Andre checked in on progress regularly. One of the most impressive parts of the project was how they matched the new kitchen floor to our existing hardwoods. They removed the old kitchen tile and weaved in new boards seamlessly with the dining room flooring--it looks like it was always one room. Several guests have commented on how great it looks. Man was I wrong. After I was happy with my job, the next day all the original tape started to peel off. I would have to redo the whole garage and I didn't have the time to do it. I was referred to Mike and he came by and explained that since the tape was put on 9 years ago it was peeling off with the new mud. His crew fixed the garage in two days. I also had a detached garage 30x40 that needed drywall. He completed that as well. After the job was complete I noticed a small crack that had developed. Mike came by and fixed it. He said that it could have been cracked while the attic was being insulated. Not only did he fix it he found several others that I could not see. He fixed everything. I referred him to one of my neighbors and the next day he brought me some fresh fish from his fishing business. Mike is a standup guy who did a great job with follow up after he was paid. Very good to work with.

Hired them based on YELP reviews as I had been so successful utilizing reviews for many other…read moreservices. So I need to be fair and honest with this so others don't get left with a job half done like I did. The quality of work and care was not there. The first day 3 guys showed and one room was presented as done (the primary). By the end of the week on a job that was quoted as around 3 days, not one entire room was completed, but instead two others started and left. Plastic was laid down on the floors and over our belongings that had been cleared to the center of the rooms. The job was to paint the upstairs hallway and 3 bedrooms with Farrow and Ball paints (which I supplied along with rollers and new buckets). Prior to them showing up, Cullin had called The Paint Shop in Warrenton inquiring about Farrow and Ball paint as they had not used it before. He told me how much to purchase. I bought $2500 worth of paint & primer. The first day he showed up he asked for half payment and a signed contract, which was not discussed prior to his arrival, and this was while the other to guys were prepping the upstairs for the job. There was a lack of communication about this job start to finish or unfinish. It turned out that the very next week Cullin and the two other guys showed up and worked at break neck speed to get out of this project. Upon inspection while everything was still very wet and them "cleaning" I found many items they needed to redo. For the back room they had very little natural light and no proper equipment to effectively see to do a good job in this room. It was admitted by Cullin later that this paint was quite different than Sherwin Williams paint, and now know they should have never accepted this job. I am also concerned with the reviews because Cullin has no idea how to calculate paint and how much for a job! I am left with nearly all the paint! The Paint Shop said it was not their place to tell a "professional" painter how much paint to use for a job. Cullen and his crew did not in fact put two coats down in each room, because if they had, more than a half gallon would be gone and they would have needed the three of them to show up that Tuesday instead of prematurely pulling out of the job on Monday. During this job there was staffing issues where only one guy would show in the late morning leaving at 3 or 4. Additionally these paint cans were brutalized as ladders and so I cannot even resale them. My paint key I provided for all these cans also walked. The closet doors were not completed as the hardware never arrived until after they left the job on Monday. Once we started to put the rooms back, we noticed several areas not even painted and certainly evident that no two coats were used since you can still see the cut-ins. There are a slew of minor other untouched imperfections that real professional painters would not have left. So this is the honest review that should have been posted long before mine. This was not a great value for the $4600 paid not including my $2500 in paint. Also, a proper second coat cannot be obtained that quickly on Monday (read Farrow and Balls directions). You know what they were good at? Caulking and talking on their cellphones.
