Paid $12 for a 6 pack of beer that expired in 2023. Brought them up north to our brand new cottage -celebrating we all opened them up and they exploded every where. I kept one can to show the expiration date at the return counter - immediately was told it's not his product didn't even give me a chance to speak. I know exactly where I grabbed them from in the store. Showed him the can and video of the beer exploding and he responded we're not gonna argue about this and closed the door in my face. Why would I drive 3 hours home with opened beer cans. Absolutely rude I will never go back to this store and I just started shopping here. Been there about 3 times and this is my last. What a waste of time I even had my 2 babies with me. I'll stick with Meijer Kroger and Costco read more

Love this market...well I guess. Maybe I'm over reacting, but, when I came in just to see what I would order since there is a recall on Romaine lettuce (4/21/18) what would I get??? So I proceed to the del counter. There are 2 customers both being waited on by 2 ladies. One customer was done and she left, sooooo, I'm next Right? Yea, but when is it gonna be My turn? I look at the items to decide and notice that no one said we'll be with you and I guess that's because no one would. After a couple minutes of just standing, I left. I frequent this store enough and have had no incidents, but th his was totally unacceptable to me. I left the store and I made sure they watched me leaving, turning around to make sure they saw me. I can't even give this store one star. It is totally disgusting, the prices here are ridiculous, most, if not all the food (including pre-packaged) foods are expired or about to expire. I usually don't shop here unless I'm running in for one or two things. This day I was tired and decided to shop here because it is closer to my house. I purchase collard greens, which where molded when I got home and separated them. I also purchased two boxes of Nabisco vanilla wafers for $5.99 each! Outrages!!! I checked the expiration date which read 6/2023. I figured I would buy them because they should still be fresh. They were the worse vanilla wafers ever. They were all sick together and I could not separate them without crumbling them. You really have to check the expiration dates here. Personally I think they change the expiration dates. I did purchase other items too and I was NOT pleased with any of them. I will never run in this store again, not even for one item. The state needs to come in and shut this disgusting store down! I've recently moved to the area, and I'm not a fan of this store. I've stopped in because it's on the way home, quick and convenient. The prices for some things- like spices, or boxed cereal are reasonable. I'm grossed out with the quality of the produce and the filth of this store. They recently re-paved the whole parking lot when the inside should be remodeled and cleaned. The freezer section of veggies is out in the open, not even behind cooler doors, and when I bought my first frozen bag of veggies here, got home and they looked like they had been frozen for years. I also gave this store a second chance and ran in quickly after work to grab an onion. I think there were maybe 8-12 red onions out and they were all badly damaged and looked old. I left and decided I'd drve down to Kroger. Gross. read more

This was going to be my first 1 Star review but there are some redeeming factors to take into account. It's odd. You'd think in the aftermath of worst economic downturn in 70 years that people would actually be fighting for their jobs. Other than one or two exceptions most of the employees here are about as happy to see you as cancer. There is some kind of issue that are on these peoples mind. I'll tell you one thing, it's not pleasing the customer. Pointing out behavior might cost somebody their job so I will refrain from it. I usually blame management on issues like this mostly but in this case Eastpointe is lucky that Spartan Stores took over this now defunct Farmer Jack. Pros: Thank God and Spartan for taking this spot over. Local place to get more name brands and a higher quality than Aldi. Supports local economy. Cons: Prices are not that good. Specials are not that good. You (the customer) seem to be a burden to some employees (not all) Management could learn to make things nicer to work there and have some kind of training on how to serve customers. 1.75 Stars read more

I only come here when I need something quick, because it's on my way home from work. It's a bit dirty and needs to be updated. The bottle machines usually have a few broken at a time. And the produce is a skimpy selection, and not very high quality. And the employees are actively unfriendly. I prefer other stores for my normal grocery shopping. But I will stop in here for those quick 1 or 2 items when necessary. read more

I give it 5 stars because of the few things I go there for and their associated prices. They sell what I refer to as honest chicken. I always get their boneless skinless chicken breast on sale, as low as $1.59/lb. As far as I can tell their breasts are not "enhanced": with any chicken broth, which makes it rubbery and awful. They recently had drumsticks for 39c/lb in 10 lb bags, a great price. You will not find chicken like their's at that price anywhere. They often have ground sirloin or chuck for great prices, too. When they sell Dei Fratelli tomato products 28oz for a buck a can, I back up the truck. I always check the web page for their sales but you always need to clear cache to get the current page. The web developer should have that coded. One odd thing happened one day. There was a woman that poked holes in the plastic for the chicken and would sniff the chicken to see if it satisfied her freshness indicator. Must have a very picky sniffer because she poked several holes before she got one she liked. I would have liked to smack her in the head to get her right but thought better of it. Stupid. They do have good prices and their produce is fresh. Good variety of frozen packaged fish. Don't be hatin' now without really giving it a chance. I'm the kind of guy that knows prices for most everything because I look for deals on pretty much everything I buy - search and review. I don't NEED to do that by any means but if I can get something I like for a price I like, why not. And Fresh Choice lets me do that. A pretty wide variety of meats offered here, generally fresh, do your diligence and check the packaging and the meat within. I shop here usually for meats because of their selection and overly reasonable pricing. It's not the cleanest of places but the shelves are always stocked and front faced (labels are visible for products and brought to the front of the shelves to appear full). I usually stop in if I need an item or two that I can't find at other stores in the area. The workers have always been friendly and helpful in my experiences, I've asked the butchers for recipe suggestions have asked stockers where items are on a few separate occasions, never seem to be bothered by it. Stopped in today, was busy but grabbed what I needed and was in and out in about 10 minutes. read more

Scuziest grocery store ever. With the most inconsiderate and rude manager/management in town. Pricing was inaccurately shown and when I returned the item I was told that I need to be sure what I am getting. I said the pricing was wrong and then was told that they know how to stock a store. You may know how to stock it but you don't know how to accurately price it nor do you know the first thing about customer service. I feel like I need to shower after shopping here. It's "OK" if you want to run in and get something "non perishable" I mean like a can of something, or a name brand of something, but I won't buy meat there, or really anything frozen. CHECK THE DATES. Even some frozen stuff I've gotten, has freezer burn and may have been thawed, then re-frozen. Also smells funny, like old bleach, or cleaning fluid, but I don't know why it would smell like cleaning, cause the place is iffy, not really a normally clean store, it's as if they are trying to cover up a dead body smell with perfume. it doesn't work read more

ALWAYS check the date on absolutely EVERYTHING!!! Even my coffee for 13.99 was expired. Should have known because it was on sale but I was charged full price. Definitely not a money saver for a store that is not such a "fresh choice". Also, I set my hand held basket down to grab my wallet and the cashier told me that I needed to take everything out of it myself, I usually do but seriously......... Isn't that her job???? The gentleman at the counter where money orders are given AND the girl at the Deli was EXTREMELY rude to my friend today!! She couldnt believe it. She was treated like a dog. She had money thrown at her and rude, disrespectful, condescending language spewed toward her. Very short and dry! I REALLY wish she had another option - rude is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO unnecessary when a person has not even been rude to you! I would NOT recommend this place to anyone who has thin skin OR who minds being treated in a rude and disrespectful manner simply because of the way she was treated. I work next door & im always in the store to get the few things I need for dinner before I go home. The floor staff always looks very unfriendly & there is only 2 cashiers I will deal with. just left the 9 mile and kelly location. three seperate amigo shoppers carts died on me while in the store. I asked employees for help and was told they have no more carts. NOT a single one was plugged in and its NOT the first time. Employees tell me children take the carts out and play with them. THIS IS A LIE. This is what every employee there has been trained to say. I am at this store 3 or 4 times a week and NEVER found the carts plugged in when I get there and NEVER seen a child on them. read more

This store may not look like much it looks kinda small from the outside....But they have everything you need inside and I love the sales they have on meat! I buy all my meat here. You can not get better prices anywhere! The sale prices are great on most of their other itmes as well items. Some of the "normal" prices are a definite no!!..but what store isn't like that? I have found the store to be friendly. I have never had to wait long at all in line! Even though Kroger is right behind my house and i have to go out of my way to drive here...shopping at Fresh Choice saves me TONS of money! This is a terrible place. I went there and they had so many things crammed into the aisle ways that it's difficult to get the cart through. I have balance issues and use a cane due to an illness and accidentally knocked some seasoned salt down. I was picking it up when this clerk told me to not worry about it. I apologized a few times and again offered to pick it up. I was trying to maneuver the cart when the clerk came up and yelled at me and grabbed the cart away from me. She continued to complain loudly how much more work I had caused her and how because of me she couldn't go home early. I have never ever been spoken to that way and never been humiliated and disrespected in such a way. I will never shop there again. read more

I cannot believe what I saw and what happened when the manager was there tonight. First...someone was literally fighting with a customer in the store. I mean I saw a stock man actually assault the customer. I went down the other isle thinking it they were both employees until I saw the customer in the check out line upset and the woman he was helping asked him to go back and get whatever item anyways. I was purchasing a "three limit" item for me and one for my mom who has a hard time walking. I had her "card" and my own. The cashier checked with the female manager and said only a limit of three "to be fair to others". I said they could go to my car, right outside the door and talk to my mother. There were two managers there I believe. They still refused. So I checked out and walked around to another cashier. They refused to ring me up. After seeing the other these other reviews, it makes me recall why I only go there rarely even though I see great deals. A kind woman paid for my order (which the cashier had no choice but to ring up at the sale price.) The woman explained she was a caregiver and understood. I asked her to stop by my car and let my mother thank her, she would not allow me to pay her back. She was seeing this all unfold wish a baby in a stroller. I love the community, only wish the workers were as nice as their customers. I live nearby and it's basically equal distance between Krogers and Fresh Choice. I will go to another Spartan then go in there again. Their meat department used to be good, that has gone downhill as well. Not worth buying their meat even when it's on sale. read more

I had issues with Lydia the manager, whom evidently is the store owner's daughter, she was rude and then lied about telling me and my mom never to come back to the store. Mark, her brother, I believe understands customer relations, had put her on the phone with me, where she proceeded to cover herself by saying she said that was for that day. Really? I have made purchases there before, and was a big fan of their meat sales. Now, that quality has gone downhill, and after seeing their "restroom", I will never purchase any prepared food or meat product there again. Lydia had the gumption to say that I had seemed to have an issue with her, when in fact, she seems to have it with me. Who singles out a customer, with the help of a cashier, to embarrass them? I certainly did not do anything in the store that would cause this kind of reaction from anyone. I was there to help my mother purchase the items she needed, assisting her because Lydia required her to come into the store despite her struggle to walk. read more
