Review Visit: April 10th, 2017…read more Aroma = Amora. Aroma backwards is Amora and Amora means 'love' in Spanish. I do love some good coffee, but do I love Aroma? Yes. Aroma was fantastic. When driving to it, it was a bit hard to find due to it being tucked in with a placed called The Green Thumbers, which is a pretty nifty gardening store in itself. So aside from being attached to a gardening store, it is a full-fledged cafe/coffeehouse on it's own. Upon entering, the staff was super nice and struck up a conversation and asked what I was doing today. Told them the boring part of my business reasons for being in the area, but also the fact that I like to try new coffee places while out and about. They offer a large variety of coffees, lattes, frappes, baked goods, sandwiches, salads and more. I ended up just getting a specialty drink called 'The Tuxedo', which was hot espresso and milk with white and dark Mocha added to it. It sounded pretty good and it did not disappoint at all. In their display of baked goods, they had a chocolate peanut butter cookie that was calling my name... or my sweet tooth was calling for it. Either way, I requested that along with my coffee. The barista even offered to warm it up. I tell you, this may be one of the best cookies I have ever had. I've had some of the best across Illinois, especially at Insomnia Cookies, and this place may rival them on the cookie level. The interior is very formal with out being too formal. It felt cozy but modern. Everything was gray/white/black with nice furniture and some wall decor. But the best part? The two stuffed bears in there. One was about 5 feet tall and there was a baby bear on the other side of the chair, holding a coffee cup. You can see them below. They aren't taxidermy bears mind you, but stuffed plush bears from the store it is attached to. This is the second coffeehouse I have been to with bears in it, the first being Thirty-Thirty Coffee Co. in Peoria, IL. Bears and Coffee go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly... maybe? No bear puns yet? That's un-bear-able! Overall, Aroma Coffee is Amora indeed! The coffee was great, the cookie was beyond amazing and getting your photo taken with the bear is an added bonus. Aside from it being a bit hidden so one could easily drive by, it is worth hunting for. The coffee/cookies that is. Not the adorable bears inside.

Would be a 5/5 star if they allowed service animals (it's illegal not to)…read more Though I didn't have a service animal I know many who rely on them so it's upsetting :( many restaurants allow working dogs and even just some dog friends but a cafe attached to a garden doesn't? They were all fresh, nicely sized, delicious, and very reasonably priced. Their homemade bread is REALLY good, and my wife got Egg Salad on white (not made in-house), but also good. Our friends split a delectable selection from their ice cream specialty menu, and I got a scoop of their strawberry ice cream-delicious! Service was excellent, and the vibe is fantastic. Definitely grab lunch...and some sweet treats.

Dead Poet's was another incredible YELP find. Thanks to my fellow Yelpers for your reviews…read more We were in Moline for a concert at The Vibrant so I slept in the morning after. I woke up hungry and ready for a cup of coffee. I was especially pleased to walk in to have a treat and found live music in this great spot. My hubby joined me after his golf game and we sat there enjoying delicious sandwiches and coffee. My only negatives were the service was questionable and the coffees were way too hot. Mine bordered on bitter. The gentleman delivering orders spent too much time going from table to table trying to figure how who the food belonged to. There is a cute patio but we chose to stay in and enjoy the music.

It seemed like all of the wraps had the same pork filling and the wraps were not well-toasted.

I ordered the veggie fajitas and asked them to add chicken, because I wanted all the veggies (mushroom, onion, and green pepper) with my protein, and none of the fajita dishes had all of those veggies. I pointed to the item on the menu and explained what I wanted and why. I also ordered a cocktail. But... what came was a glob of red with shredded chicken and red sauce on top, which doesn't look like fajitas to me. I asked if this was the fajitas, and she said yes. I thought that maybe it was served differently here, and I figured I'd fine the veggies inside somewhere. I now realize (after looking up the menu online) that what I ate was the veggie enchilada meal, because it was potatoes wrapped in tortillas, and there were no or few veggies involved. My cocktail also didn't come, and we were half way through the meal before the wait staff, who was milling around because there were no other tables inside, made eye contact enough for us to ask for our waitress. She apologized, obviously forgot, and brought the cocktail. The potato enchiladas were tasty, but not what I wanted, so I'm disappointed. The service was clearly disappointing. But the setting and the chips and salsa were good. I'd go back for a drink and to sit outside.

Saw this place as we were driving by and got excited. I ordered the club cold and substituted with pepper jack cheese and my wife had a turkey pesto. Mine was amazing! The meat had great taste and plenty of it! Two things that would have been an option to make mine phenomenal was to add avocado which I am sure may be an option but didn't ask and to me instead of piling on the meat I would like to see it layered so it is even throughout entire sandwich. There is so much more for us to try! I can't wait to try the meatball sandwich options!!
