I ordered a custom birthday cake for my daughter's 4th birthday party and the entire experience was 5+ stars. For a busy mom, it was so convenient to be able to order online within a few minutes. The service was incredible and I'm so happy to have found Frenchys Cake Designs! My daughter and all guests loved the cake. The design was beautiful and it was also delicious. Many thanks to Frenchy and his team for creating my bday/Glow Up party cake on time, affordably, and working diligently to realize my vision. The collaborative design process was enjoyable, with Frenchy bringing some great ideas to the table. It was definitely invaluable to have a safe space to discuss the importance / history behind the commission without any judgment, and with fullest support and celebration. The final product needed a few adjustments to accommodate fulfilling my vision within the limited dimensions (I asked for a sizeable amount of design work on a smaller cake), but in the end everyone was very impressed at first sight and tore up their slice. The yellow sponge was hands down the group favorite component of the cake; it was very moist, and stayed so for a few days after the party. Those who got down with the frosting and sugar work liked both. Nearly everyone wanted more of the peanut butter buttercream filling instead of the layers being separate with half pb filling / half chocolate fondant (this was one adjustment I wasn't crazy about). But everyone left happy and most even texted the next day to say again how much they enjoyed the cake. I'd personally highly recommend coordinating delivery since - for me - the pick up location and process negatively impacted the overall experience. But the core take away I hope to convey is that Frenchy and his team are managing to executive on a very high and competitive level within their industry at a price which you'd be extremely hard pressed to beat.

I took a gamble using BakeStreet.com (a service that matches customers with cake artists for custom cakes) for such an important event - my very first Baby Shower and so happy that it paid off. I could not have been matched with a better bakery, and from start to finish the experience was PERFECT. From listening to my concept, suggesting creative touches, and expertly executing my vision - I was blown away. The cake artists kept in touch throughout the process and, because of this, I felt confident and pretty stress-free the entire time. Another plus is he literally has about 25+ flavors of cake and cake filling that you can choose from! This includes classic flavors like lemon and red velvet, and less traditional ones like butter beer and maple bacon! It was SO HARD to decide -- but this is always a good "problem" to have! We went with chocolate + s'mores and vanilla + strawberry shortcake. At our travel themed baby shower this past weekend everyone thought our luggage/globe cake was a prop because it looked SO GOOD. --Almost too good to eat. ALMOST! Once we sliced into it and tasted it, the deliciousness sealed the deal that it was the perfect bakery/baker for this event and any future events we have going forward. I truly could not be happier and am so grateful to him for lending his talent to create such a masterpiece for our special day. Thank you times a million!

I was in search to get a cake for my BFFs birthday and I am happy I stumbled upon Frenchys Cake Designs. The process was so smooth. I inquired on the website and I got a response right away. We went through the date I wanted to have the cake done to the flavor and the design. I must say there are definitely A LOT of flavors to choose from and making up my mind was the hardest thing lol. Once the date came, I was given pictures and videos of the final product and I went to pick up the cake and my BFF loved it! She was so taken away by the creativity and so was I. She also said that she loved the taste as well! Overall I would recommend. Frenchy answered all questions that I had and he definitely gained a permanent customer!

Often, when you order a cake, I feel like Like you have to compromise taste or the design. But not with French! This is my third time ordering from him and he never disappoints. He makes beautiful cakes that are delicious as well. His prices are very reasonable and he gives you a quote before you decide to order. He's super sweet and both him and his wife are adorable. His cakes are American style so he charges by the size of the cake rather than by the pound. I usually order the 8 inch round and there's always more than enough to go around. Just make sure you have a big knife because the cakes are usually tall lol.

This is a double barrel drip cake. The flavor was vanilla and I believe there was chocolate cake swirls inside. This cake was really really good. This is my second time ordering here and it was pretty amazing. The cake also had white chocolate macaroons and Wafers dipped in white chocolate. I love that Frenchy was very creative to come up with this idea. Some of drips were a little long and not as consistent but you know what I really did love the taste of the cake and that was the key here. My tips would be keep the cake refrigerated! Very important. We took this to a bbq and it was melting away lol. I would definitely recommend his cakes as they are actually pretty good the flavors are unique and he's always up for a challenge of design your unique cake.

Delicious is not even enough of a description to explain how wonderful all 3 tiers tasted! It was a super hard decision to choose the flavors that my husband and I wish we could have had cupcakes to enjoy all the favors. I have to mention that everything on my cake was edible. I still cant believe the artistry and amazing work this man does! If you were to choose Frenchy to bake anything at all for you it will be the best decision of your life. Especially when it comes to a wedding cake and something that will provide one of the most important and special memories in your life you have to choose carefully and wisely. Beautiful 65th Birthday Cake! I am so excited to be writing this review. I found Frenchy's via Yelp and was astonished by all the amazing reviews. I contacted him via his website and received a call back in less than 24 hours. He was so kind and answered every question I had. I had a 3 tier- 3 flavor cake made for my mother-in-laws birthday. WOWOWOWOWOWOW.... they cake was a piece of art, absolutely beautiful. But the best part was the flavors. The carrot cake was absolutely exquisite and everyone talked about it for days! Frenchy is so awesome! He created the perfect grooms cake for my wedding. An absolute master at his craft! I was set on having the BCS Championship Trophy created for my fiance. He went to the University of Alabama. They are the current reigning National Champs. I gave Frenchy a picture of the trophy, as well as what I wanted the base of the trophy to say. I know it was not easy making this cake because of the weight of the proportions- Wide base and wide top of cake, narrowing down. BUT HE DID IT! Cake even had to be transported to our venue via a van, to makes sure the cake was securely transported. I contacted many bakeries in NYC. Most of them wanted over $1000 for this cake to be created. My budget was $500. And Frenchy met me at my budget. He was also such a pleasure to work with. Down to earth, positive, incredible energy and responsive! Five Starts for an amazing experience and an amazing cake!

We called up Frenchys looking for a last minute birthday cake for my sister, it wasn't just any birthday cake though... we wanted a Lavender Earl Grey cake (nearly impossible to find)... Frenchys delivered the most stunning and special cake for her and she was so surprised. Not only did it look beautiful it tasted amazing! The flavors were incredible and all the flowers were edible! Amazing! Highly recommend. I wanted a 50th birthday cake and they provided one that was better and prettier than what I had I mind. They were courteous and timely. Where do I start? Frenchy is such a genuine person, I will always turn to him for any cakes needed out of my family or friends. The cake ordered for my boyfriend's birthday was INSANE and unreal that it killed me to even cut through and eat it. Don't make the mistake of turning to a bakery when a baker like Frenchy lives in nyc. Thank you soooo much!! The night was a huge success because of this unbelievable cake. P.s. It's one year later and I would not think of getting a birthday cake for my son anywhere other than Frenchy's. Once again, Frenchy came through with not only a spectacular cake, but with cupcakes as well for my son's two birthday celebrations. See photos that Frenchy sent to me. My son loves vanilla cakes so unfortunately he did not get to sample the famous chocolate cake, but all of his cakes are made from scratch, incredibly delicious, moist, and very fresh according to my son and his friends. They also keep for a week in the fridge, that's how fresh and well made they are. It's always a pleasure to speak with Frenchy, and to discuss cake design and flavors. He is a true culinary artist. I ordered a cake for my wedding. What I ended up getting was a cake that looked like a menstruating vagina...not at all what was shown as a sample. Never again. It wasn't cheap either. I could have had a cheaper prettier cake. read more

I was looking for a cake for my 40th birthday party and decided to take my chances and hire someone from online solely based on reviews. I saw all the positive Yelp reviews for Frenchys then visited his Instagram page. All the reviews were consistent in terms of his professionalism, being responsive, and delivering a quality product which not only looked good, but tasted good. From our first phone call, I was confident that I had made the right choice. I told him my vision for the cake and the next day he sent me all the different flavors he had available. This is not your traditional chocolate or vanilla offerings. He has a large selection of flavors to choose from which made it difficult, albeit a good problem to have. I chose the cupcakes in 2 different flavors and opted for a carrot cake on top. Seriously....the CARROT CAKE....is to die for (well that may just happen after how much cake I ate lol). Hands down the best carrot cake I have ever had, and multiple people at the party said the same thing. Trust the reviews....Frenchys is the real deal. I will not hesitate to get all my cakes from Frenchys in the future...this will definitely be my go to place for birthdays or any special occasion or if I just want another carrot cake :) read more

I bought a Basket of Flowers cake from Frenchy for my boss's birthday. When my boss walked into the office she smiled and said 'Thank You for remembering my birthday'. She then glanced at my desk and politely asked where was her birthday cake. Quite coyly, I smiled and turned my head towards the Basket of Flowers. To say she was blown away, is an understatement. Her exact words were 'OMG, its real! I thought it was fake flowers! OMG I can't believe its real. I can eat it? OMG!' I'm not even sure how to start! Frenchy's cake surpassed my expectations a million times. The looks, the details, the flavors, absolutely perfect! For my husband's is 40th Birthday, I wanted a cake that captures his love for photography & comic books super heroes. This cake certainly did. This guy is legendary amazing tasty and different varieties of flavors but we didn't receive one of the flavor we asked for in 3 tier cake for baby shower we ask for blue velvet cake we got redvelvet for a Royal blue prince baby shower and bottom tier was supposed to be a vanilla cake with dulce de leche filling dominican style, I think we got vanilla custard filling really let down my family is obsessed with dulce de leche no where to be found inside but it looked extravagant elegant and I wouldn't change the look I will always use frenchy incredible human being great guy read more

Frenchy and I have been friends for as far back as I can remember, I have always known him as a cake designer. This past December I've had the pleasure of having to order (for the first time) a custom made cake for my husband's 25th birthday cake from Frenchy. Professional, Reliability and Delivers! THE CAKE WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! [because that's all you need to know for the review anyway ;) ]. I'm really glad that I decided to go with Frenchy for my friend's birthday cake. From the second I reached out he was extremely helpful and listened to all of my concerns in terms of design and what I wanted the cake to taste like. The cake itself was a chocolate cake with a chocolate Swiss meringue buttercream. The outside, was Frenchy's homemade fondant. Originally, this had been one of my greatest concerns-- as the taste of fondant can have a slight chemical taste to it. The handmade fondant was a little sweet, but still delicious and it surpassed my expectations. The cake also had decorations made out of rice krispies treats (also homemade) and just as delicious without being too overwhelming on the palate. (I still have some of the cake, and it's still delicious days later). I was extremely happy with the design of the cake, and the attention to detail as well. I'm really glad I was able to find Frenchy through yelp, and I will be trying out some of the dessert cakes in the future. Let me start by saying what an incredible experience from start to finish. From the second I called to the delivery everything was smooth as butter. Frenchy and I worked together to create the concept of my 30th birthday. It turned out better than expected and omg was the white chocolate cake delicious! Seriously good, even though I was more into it for the look the cake itself was so moist and the perfect flavor. This will definitely be my go to for custom cakes! This cake was nothing short of amazing! It looked so realistic and was exactly what we wanted. Even the waiter at the restaurant where the graduation party for our daughter was held said he had never seen a cake like that before. Not only did it look amazing but it tasted great too! I just went for a cake tasting for my wedding and wow is all I have to say! So many variations of flavors and the cakes taste so good very fresh. He does not use boxed cake mix he makes the cakes from scratch. Not only that but Frenchy himself is very nice person. I usually order Dominican cake because that was what I grew up eating, and was afraid to try different cakes. Let me tell you if you are Dominican try this place and don't be afraid to taste a different kind of cake. You will be surprised. Also he makes beautiful sugar flowers look so real... This is a double barrel drip cake. The flavor was vanilla and I believe there was chocolate cake swirls inside. This cake was really really good. This is my second time ordering here and it was pretty amazing. Absolutely, hands down the BEST cake I have ordered for any event in NYC. I made plans with Frenchy from 3000 miles away and he was extremely accommodating and helpful in getting our vision transformed into cake. The prices here are decent enough, and the quality isn't that bad. It's not a place I would go out of my way to go to, but it's nice to be nearby if I want to pick up a snack or something similar. The menu is focused on Italian American comfort food, with an emphasis on pizza and pasta. *Mafaldine Alla Vodka: Really good. The pasta was cooked perfectly, with plenty of rich vodka sauce. The chili flakes added a nice little kick. *Angry Roni: A really satisfying pizza with lots of melty cheese and toppings. Service was very friendly and attentive throughout the meal. The ambiance is also nice. There is bar seating, communal tables, and a windowed area at the front of the restaurant that feels like a sunroom.

My Mrs got me a Black Forest cake from here as a birthday surprise and it was ooooohhhh sooooo freaking delicious!!!! We also got an almond torte for later and I can't decide which I love more. So much for any new year resolution. I can't wait to try something else 3/20/16 So I called up to see if he could do a Lego themed birthday cake for my nephew who's big day was on March 17th. He said sure no problem. Man am I glad I called. Cake was delivered by frenchy himself and it was absolutely amazing!!!!! My nephew and the crowd were stunned!!!! They couldn't believe it! They wanted to start taking off the Lego bricks before the party even started. The cake was a hit! Both aesthetically and taste wise. The cake was moist and there wasn't too much frosting inbetween the layers and the Lego bricks were actually chocolate not fondant!!!! Who else do I know that's having a birthday...? I just want to order stuff to see what else he can create! Thank you Frenchy!!!!! 5/10/16 A friend of mine wanted to get a birthday cake for my Mrs and I since our birthdays are a day apart. It was for a little gathering and I recommended frenchy's to him. Sunday evening we arrived at the venue and there was frenchy setting up our cake! He made this magnificent 3 tiered pillow cake!!!! The bottom was chocolate with a ganache filling, the middle vanilla and cream filling and the top was a fruit cake. Was it wrong to suggest we do the cake first? Ordered a cake from here for my grandmothers birthday last year, best cake I've ever had in my life. I didn't hesitate to order again for my birthday. A 4 tier cake. Absolutely beautiful and tasted even better than it looked! Only place I'd ever go for baked goods ! read more
