My now husband and I found French Romance at a local bridal expo. We we sold right away as her work looked superb above other photographers that were on display that day. She's very straightforward and doesn't sugar coat which was perfect for us as we wanted the raw facts of her work flow. She will give you homework (emails with things to do and not do on the big day) and she is very much involved with your timeline. Why is this a big deal? Well as a bride we want just about everything photographed and due to venue restrictions we weren't given enough time to capture special moments (first look, groom and groomsmen getting ready). Well she put her two cents in to make sure we we captured everything we wanted even though it meant for her to photograph me getting ready at the crack of dawn. At first I thought it was it was weird that I would be ready 4.5 hrs prior to ceremony but let me tell you she was nonstop working her magic and shooting her camera from all angles with special props she brings. For starters, Nadege's photos are beautiful. We used her for our engagement photos & our wedding on 10/29/2011. For our engagement shoot she was professional, creative, kind and fun to work with. We wanted to use our engagement photos as our guest book at our wedding. Nadege showed me a guest book she was working on that she said was designed by her. Awesome! However, a week before the wedding I realized I had not seen a proof of the engagement book that was to be made. We didn't have any special requests, but I'm a detailed person. The guest book was a huge mess. My middle name was spelled wrong (it's Elizabeth) and there were pages in the book we never knew were going to be added. If we had known, we would have asked them to be removed or replaced with something else. Like the family pages. One page for the bride's parents, grandparents (fraternal & maternal) etc. and the same for the groom. We don't know anything about my husband's dad or his family & the whole subject of his father is something we don't ever bring up because it is awful to think about. But here it is plain as day in our wedding guest book. Then the pages for the bridal party. Spaces to fill in the lines for maid of honor, best man, bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girl & ring bearer. Well guess what? There weren't enough lines for our bridal party! We always planned on a maid of honor, matron of honor, two best men, 5 bridesmaids, 5 groomsmen & 2 flower girls. Always. That never changed. Yet the book only had enough lines for 1/2 of the wedding party!! I let Nadege know how the pages needed to be changed & even provided different photos to replace the pages. She informed me that the book was from a template already printed. If we wanted a replacement book, she would charge us $80 and hope that it arrived by the wedding day. Needless to say we were less than thrilled. She then printed STICKERS of our photos to place over the wrong pages (see photos). The stickers were transparent enough to see the empty lines behind them AND they were lifting in the corners! Completely unacceptable. Then came the wedding day. Jessica the assistant photographer was wonderful. Arrived early to scout good spots at the church & was awesome to work with. Nadege arrived 30 min late, rushed thru my prep photos & basically started my wedding day more stressed out than I ever needed to be. She also called me Tiffany for the first 2 hours. My name is Stefanie. How insulting is that?!?! The wedding photos came out great from both Nadege & Jessica. Our wedding book was VERY nice. Hard bound book with thick pages. It's beautiful. But I also had to go over every single page & background myself because the order Nadege had them in didn't makes sense to me at all. Basically, I arranged the album & she had it printed & shipped. First of the angles of the picture were awesome of the bride and groom were awesome. Good angles and good lighting. When it comes to the family most of the pictures were one shoot and people came out with their eyes closed. Those pictures are absolutely ruined. I found Nadege at a bridal show and was originally drawn to her because she was so affordable. Wedding photographers can be SO expensive, but we found a package we liked that included an engagement photo session and booked her. I wasn't terribly pleased with our engagement shoot; we had it done at the beach (our second choice since our first had been rained out) and we had to stare directly into the glaring sun the whole time. My husband is pretty light sensitive, so he was squinting in all the pictures. When Nadege saw the photos, she said she would like to shoot another session for us for free because the first one was pretty bad. We were allowed to keep all the pics from both sessions. Our guest book was a photo album of engagement photos with space to write in the pages, which was also included in the package. The pages are nice and thick. She was wonderful during the wedding; we got lots of shots an she stayed well into the reception. She mailed us four CDs of all our photos within two weeks of the wedding. Our wedding album is beautiful and SO many prints were included in our package. She has an abrasive personality at times, but she gets stuff done. We found nadege at a bridal show in 2010. We had visited various bridal photographers and no one understood what we wanted, when we met with her we explained we wanted a mad men themed engagement photo style at union station in DTLA she started flowing with ideas and understood what we wanted and got us excited for the shoot. The day came and she was sooo much fun, nothing felt fake or staged. A few says later she emailed me the proofs as this was to be used as our guest sign book. Everyone at my wedding In early 2012 LOVED it!! My patents were over the moon with it and they decided to order a wedding book of their own as they realized how amazing her work is. The day of our wedding she wasn't just the photographer she was there to help any way she could, I forgot to get the pens for people to use to sign (she left to buy them) my earring broke before I left the house (she fixes it with string lol) After the wedding she sent me again proofs by email and I was always in communication with her on what changes I wanted and she would fix them to my satisfaction. When we got our wedding book it was not the one we ordered she sent me 2 of the thinner ones I called her and told her we had paid for the thicker ones she apologized and said she would correct it and did! I offered to send her the wrong books back but she said to keep them so that was very nice of her as any other person would have not done that, she has also ordered more photos then what our package was for and didn't change us extra for it. Now that I've seen others not have a good experience with this photographer I think I can now say mine. I used her for my wedding two years ago. I can maybe use ten out of all the pictures I had taken for my wedding day. The rest have absolutely rookie angles, not lining up pictures to be pleasing to the eye, feet cutoffs, no pictures of my guests unless they were with my husband and I, multiple people told me she was rude to them regarding pictures, she was rude to my immediate family right in front of us, all the pictures look like she took absolutely no time to make sure would be pleasing and cut out certain things around us (aka like a wall hydrant or ugly planters or kids strollers in background), the pictures have tilts to them that are not purposeful, she insulted me regarding my own wedding makeup choice I did on myself and demanded to do it on me herself and after I let her I took it all off because I felt so ugly I had a panic attack and she made me feel terrible for not wanting to wear it and wasted my time that morning. Her light editing was terrible. My pictures have so much exposer it looks like I did them myself. She was also very rude about the entire day as it went on that I felt I had no time to myself with my husband (where she should of wandered off and taken pictures of guests...and I'm not talking about walking up to each table and taking a picture of each table...I mean candid moments that are standard for weddings to capture the joy with everyone). I have not given any of my wedding photos to absolutely anyone in my family at all because I'm so embarrassed by them that I don't even want to look at them. I don't even look at them myself. I can't use them for anything. There's only like ten good pictures out of hundreds. I still to this day regret it and am sad about it. read more

Since the day the contract was signed I had a bad experience with Nadage. I'll try to make the review short but pretty much she is rude, unprofessional, and has horrible communication skills. She went m.i.a. multiple times, I had to reach out to our venue, The Mission Inn, to get some answers!! The day of our engagement photos, she was 1 hour late and never apologized for it. I had hired a wedding planner and she would constantly ignore my wedding planner requests. She raised her prices about 1-2 weeks after we signed her contract and 2 weeks BEFORE my wedding, she wanted to raise my final price for a "miss communication". We ended up settling this by hiring her for the photo booth. we felt this last minute increase was because she was trying to make up for the difference in price increase she did AFTER our contract. But the worst was my wedding day. She was so incredibly rude to my guest. She was snapping to them when they asked if they can take pictures with my fiancé and me. But it all went down hill at the reception where her husband and her were constantly bickering in front of my guest, her husband yelled at the groom, she refused to work with my wedding planner, hardly took pictures of the guests, and hardly took pictures of myself or the groom with our guests, and her husband was drinking on the job. And although she has great equipment, great angles and lighting, the few pictures she took with guests, she would only take one shot and many were not ready with eyes closed or awkward poses. Thus I can't use those pictures. I would definitely not recommend her nor her husband to anyone, especially not a bride who should have people making things easier not harder. read more

The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because all the pictures with just the bride and groom were really good lighting angles were good, but the pictures with the family/group photos were bad...I thought she was taking multiple photos just in case someone came out bad but no she took one shot and peoples eyes were closed or not ready. I thought a professional photograpgher would at least take multiple photos now the bride is stuck with bad photos. I discovered Nadege, the photographer, at a Wedding show held at the Queen Mary in Long Beach. What she had to displayed in her booth grabbed my attention. I was instantly drawn to the designs of her guestbook and wedding albums. They were both flush mount books and I noticed the creativity and how well organized and personalized these books were. I asked Nadege who designed them and she stated herself. I complimented her deeply. I took one of her flyers and stated I would be calling her to set up an appointment. My fiancé and I met with her early October 2013 at her home where she showed us various designs and concepts for the guestbook and wedding album. When we told her we both love gardens and she instantly knew how she would design the book. She offered great packages and tips for making good pictures. On the day of our wedding she brought us our Guestbook, and Oh! How beautiful it looked! Several people complimented how great it was. Nadege worked very well with us before the ceremony trying to get many pictures taken. She took wonderful pictures during the ceremony and after, at least a good hour during the cocktail hour. She took several poses and different places outside before going into the Reception. She took any pictures we requested with our guests and was very creative with group pictures. I found Nadege just searching for a photogapher online for our wedding that took place 10/12/14. We had visited with 4 photographers prior and either their poor presentation or high costs we couldn't settle on anyone. Then I talked with Nadege and we met in person and pretty much signed on the spot with her. She had the most confidence that I have ever witnessed in one's profession that we immediately felt a close bond and that she was reasonably priced and very organized. Prior to the actual wedding she kept us informed via emails and texts. On the day of our wedding, she kept the entire wedding party on a timeline that was just to die for. We had so many people tell us who was your photographer? She was on point, professional and so nice. She even went out of her realm and laced up my dress!. I had a pendant from a very special friend who is deceased and I couldn't figure out how to wear it and she somehow incoperated it in my shoe and onto the wedding pictures which made it special for me. In our package we received a canvas picture which knocked our socks off. The amount of pictures she took not only of the wedding party but of our guests with us in the pictures.
