I can't even begin to explain how lucky we were to have Sheryl along with us on our wedding journey. My husband and I have never been the type of couple that took "cute" photos together. One of us is either making a face or glaring at the other. The first time we had taken professional photos together was right before we got engaged. It was the most awkward experience ever. We needed so much direction and were the type of people that ask, "What do we do with our hands?" Once we started the planning process, we knew we needed to find someone that could work with the awkwardness and find a way to bring out the couple that could take good photos. Sheryl was recommended to us by a co-worker. We chose a package that included both engagement and wedding photos. The advantage of doing both with the same photographer is that you're able to develop a relationship and really get to know each other. Sheryl is able to see how you are as a couple and really uses that insight to take the best possible photos of you. We did our engagement photos with Sheryl in San Francisco at the Palace of the Fine Arts and Sutro Baths. I to this day cannot believe that the couple in those photos are us. She made us feel so comfortable that we totally forgot what we were doing and why we were there. The wedding day experience with Sheryl was the best we could have asked for. Not only did she bring this incredible energy that helped calm our nerves, but she was literally the only reason I was able to successfully get into my wedding dress. She doubled as the most amazing photographer on the planet and my fairy godmother. We just got our photos back and they are better than I could have imagined. For months a searched for a perfect photographer for my big day and ended up getting handed a business card for Sheryl Bale Photography from my florist. I looked her up on Instagram and saw all the amazing wedding photos she had taken and I was in love. I had to contact her and when I did we met for a nice brunch and got to know each other. The photo package I selected from her menu included an engagement photoshoot, having more time with her before the wedding was very nice! We got to know more about each other and create a relationship that made us all comfortable with each other. When it came to the wedding day, Sheryl and her assisting photographer, Ashley, got to my venue, The Mission Inn Hotel in Riverside, CA, early and got checked in to get their vendor pass and were to my preparation room very quickly. She captured great photos with my mother and I while getting ready. She also helped calm me down after some stressors came up and made sure I was ready to go for the ceremony. Sheryl was very organized when it came to taking family and wedding party photos and cared about us all looking our best in the photo she was taking. She helped us recreate a photo from my husband's parents wedding in the same spot it was taking in 22 years prior.(Photo included in rotunda staircase) She was on top of the schedule we put in place for certain photos and helped make sure our wedding day went as smoothly as it could. She did a beautiful job on the photos of our engagement and wedding but above all she is so kind and caring. We couldn't have asked for a better photographer for our wedding. We found Sheryl on Wedding Wire, and met with her for a consultation. She was SO friendly and very funny, and we immediately knew we wanted her as our photographer. She was organized and had her prices and options available for us to choose. When I first contacted Sheryl and then decided to hire her for my wedding, she was responsive and easy to communicate with. She shot our engagement photos, which we were happy with. A couple weeks prior to the wedding she still maintained good communication and we spoke about the types of pictures I wanted and timeline of the day. The day of the wedding went well for the most part, aside from what appeared to be some miscommunication between the two photographers while shooting the ceremony. I received my pictures six weeks later and was happy with what I saw. However, as a couple weeks passed and I realized there were lots of pictures I remember posing for/that I know Sheryl took and were missing from the file. For example: my maid of honor giving her speech was not pictured, pictures that the secondary photographer posted on Instagram were not in the file, pictures of me getting ready etc. I emailed her regarding specific pictures and asked where they were. Finally after having some odd conversations via email, Sheryl ended up adding more pictures to file- pictures of my maid of honor giving her speech, me with my father during his speech, very important pictures that were originally not included. She did not apologize for anything, but told me that when she sent me the photos, it appeared that they did not all completely download which is why there were a few hundred were missing... I then asked her again about specific pictures that were posted on Instagram however were still not in the file. After sending screenshots of the Instagram pictures THREE times to her via email and text message, she found them and added them, as well as even MORE pictures to the file. At the end of the day, I am happy with my pictures, however if I had not reached out to Sheryl and asked her SEVERAL times, I would not have received hundreds of pictures that I paid for. I was very frustrated with the lack of communication and accountability from her when I addressed the missing photos and am concerned as to why she did not send me them all the first time. read more
