I was looking for a quick lunch option during TIFF, and Ritual pointed me to French Made, which was offering a few bucks off several of their offerings. I decided to go with the Smoked Turkey Sandwich ("Turkey, tomatoes, shaved red onions, Dijon mustard, black peppers mayo & Havarti cheese in ciabatta") and the food was ready just as I walked in about 10 minutes later. It's a really good sandwich. All the components work really well together, and the various flavors complement one another perfectly. My only complaint would be that the bread was just a little too crusty, as the roof of my mouth was hurting pretty much for the rest of the day. I did notice that they had some tasty-looking cookies when I was in there, so I'll definitely be returning to sample some of those. read more

HUGH DISAPPOINTMENT BEWARE , every dish there from sushi roll , appetizers are spicy and EXTREMELY salty! Has cocktail , those are good. We ordered 10 different dishes and honestly only thing not having a salty kick are desserts! GO there if you have a thing for salty and spicy food. Trendy interior right next to the flashy bisha hotel, the interior is cool with lots of mirrors with electric blue and hand written menu. Went to get breakfast one day, hoping to get one of those pistachio croissants I see on photos on yelp. But sadly THEY DONT HAVE THEM THERE ANYMORE! So I settled for an almond croissant, I believe they said they sourced their croissants from another bakery on king west. So I don't think anything is made in-house. Their beverages selection is good. I just like how its in a convenient location in the heart of downtown. Hello Yelpers, Strolling towards CN Tower and I saw this cute logo of a heart with and arrow through it. I quickly peeled and saw "French Made." Intrigued by the name and logo, I went it. End of the day.l dessert before heading home I got myself a lovely Almond Tarte. It was perfectly balanced in sweetness and tarte. Yummy goodness! I failed to ask them about the ingredients. I did notice since it was end of the day... the worker wrapping up the treats. So I wonder... how long has my dessert been sitting in the display case? I don't want to eat a 3 day old treat. Popped in here late in the day and got a couple of treats to go. The service was friendly and fast. I tried the blondie, thin and soft with nice white chucks of chocolate. The brownie had the same texture as the blondie but with a rich dark flavor. But the chocolate chuck cookie hit the spot. Big, soft chocolate chunky yumminess. One of my favourite coffee shops in the area. The moment you walk in, you will get attracted to their pastries and sandwiches, which are right in front of you and nicely displayed. I tried the raspberry croissant and absolutely loved it. It's soft and filled with raspberry "jams", goes really well with a coffee or a latte or whatever floats your boat. As for the drinks, I tried the drip coffee and flat white. Both are very delicious and satisfying. read more

Overall, pretty good. Prices are a bit high here but that's to be expected given the location. I can say the drinks and food items we had here were mostly excellent. One area for improvement could be the espresso. It wasn't horrible but a bit more bitter than I prefer. read more

Quick trip into toronto to see the Arkells, and wanted to maximize by indulging in some authentic French pastries and French Made nailed it! Great customer service and a beautiful display made it hard to choose. You can tell everything is made with love and I snagged some croissants to take home to the states for my children! Wonderful drip coffee! I haven't had a chance to try the baked goods, sandwiches and salads. They look insanely good though. Prices are abbot dear, but it's part of a 5 star hotel, what can you expect. The staff was upbeat and helpful. It was sparkling and clean, but what else can you expect opening day! UPDATE. So make sure you get the cakes when they are fresh and full. Seeing as they don't have enough fridge space and the don't cover the exposed edges, some of them dry out. The sandwiches all look expensive, but don't let it fool you as they all come with salad! The fresh croissants in the morning are also one of my favorites. read more

I was surprised how nice the croissants and coffee were at this location. My cappuccino was nice and rich with tasty beans, and the croissant was huge and exceptionally tasty with the butter and slightly sweet egg wash. The location is pretty tight for seating, so this is more of a pick-up and go kinda place, but for the morning coffee run or afternoon treat this is definitely a must-try over any Starbucks--any day! read more

I had the veggie quiche tart thing and a latte. Although neither was amazing, they were good. The guy at the counter seemed to be having a bad day because he wasn't talkative or too responsive to pleasantries but he warmed up my quiche thing well making it taste better than I expected, what more do I want? There wasn't much seating but when I got there, around 7pm on a weekday, it was empty. People walked in to get stuff but I was the only one sitting. I brought my laptop to use the wifi which was good and fast. There were only four round tables that may fit one laptop each so if it's busy, it may be hard to find a spot to work. Given the above, their competitors and location, I was happiest with the prices. My large latte and rather large quiche thing cost me around $10 which is great value. If I got something similarly filling at Starbucks, it would've definitely cost at least a few dollars more. read more

I was craving something sweet after our meal at Kost. Beside the main entrance to the Bisha Hotel (where Kost is located), I saw this little pastry shop. Man, am I glad I went in. They had lots of delicious looking pastries and treats, but what really caught my eye was the Rocher, a giant version of a Fererro Rocher chocolate. It was $8 and change, but large. And the best dessert I've had in a long time. Definitely need to come back when we're not encumbered by time. read more

Best quiche I've tasted hands down. The crust was perfectly flakey and egg custardy. Like a Pablo's cheesecake in cheese form . Cappuccino also very well made with generous amount of foam. I love boutique cafes and when travelling it's nice to discover something that isn't Starbucks. This is connected to the Bisha Hotel (a beautiful 5 star boutique hotel). I had a cappuccino and what was cool was the choice of milk. You can have almond, oat, coconut or cow. I tried oat and it was a revelation! Don't add any sugar cause it has a little sweetness naturally. This has become my new "thing"! Nice pastry selection (price averaging $4+ each). The latest time I had visited I ordered a cafe mocha and it was absolutely undrinkable and tossed it before I left the cafe. I had left a review asking about what had happened with no response.. BUT my disappointment dissipated when I bit into the perfectly baked millionaire's tart--perfect crust, right amount of salted caramel and chocolate, and not cloyingly sweet as many desserts tend to be. The coffee and service is always top notch and can be the perfect wake me up before a long day at the office. The cakes are amazingly moist when fresh, although they can dry out a bit if you leave them out for too long, or go at the end of the day when there are only a few behind the counter. My personal favourite has to be the strawberry chocolate, a flavour I don't find elsewhere, especially considering that you can taste the fresh strawberries in the icing! It gets 4 stars because my dad didn't stop talking about the cappuccino he got there until a day later. My sister and I discovered French Made over the weekend and were over the moon. Amazing coffee, desserts and most importantly service. The two young ladies behind the counter took the time to talk to us, explain their favourite desserts in the shop and offered to warm up our treats in an oven! It's a great cafe and staff, but a number of items are shrinking notably in portion size while remaining the same price. The chocolate or almond bars use to be too big to eat in one sitting and went to 70% the size, 50%, and now about 30% the size without price reduction. Salads have also notably decreased in size. These are unethical tactics. read more
