The front desk ladies are a pleasure to speak with and very helpful, patiently & thoughly answering all my questions. Those working on my teeth really put me at ease. I had to make separate appointments for my check-up and my cleaning, but I got the most thorough teeth cleaning ever. Every last bit of gunk was removed during a full 1-hr session and afterwards my teeth were transformed from slightly yellow to glistening white! They felt completely different - completely smooth and shiny.

She scams patients with perfectly healthy teeth into believing the have "pre-periodontal disease" I…read moreactually got a second opinion and they said she was pushing for buisness in the guise of health and that I should just floss more often. The periodontal special cleaning costs over 2000 dollars as opposed to a regular cleaning at a couple hundred. As a low income student I explained it to her that I could not afford that and I just went in for a cleaning and she insisted the disease was imperative and my teeth would rot unless I did it. she tried to set up several different sessions of my busy time. I had to pay for her to poke my gums and didn't even get my teeth cleaned, over $300 and three separate visits for nonsense! She also instructed me to NOT floss my teeth until I got through with the periodontal cleaning! A dentist instructing someone not to floss!? Greedy Scam Artist!

Withholding Test Results: This facility did not give me test…read moreresults until I happened to visit again 6 months later and asked about them. After that, the results were still not included in my notes or visible on MyChart. When I finally asked for complete records, I discovered a second important, undisclosed result 9 months after the exam. Administrative Contradictions: I arrived a few minutes late for an appointment and was told I could not be seen. However, after further discussion it became apparent that the provider was otherwise occupied and would have had to reschedule anyway. I had previously received a voicemail, but it did not relay this information. Meanwhile, I had received multiple reminders about the appointment, including one that morning. Unexplained Test Results: I requested a printout of my records and can now see that a second result was not shared with me. Had I not asked for a printout (when the provider could not see me at my scheduled appointment) 9 months after the exam, I would not have received this information at all. After asking to wait and briefly see the provider to ask what this second result means, I was refused. Patient Harassment: While looking up the result on my phone to try to understand what it means, I was asked to leave. I could then hear the office staff laughing. After leaving the office and sitting in my car looking at my phone, I was approached by security and again asked to leave. Fortunately, the security officer was empathetic and gave me a complaint form. His was the only decency and kindness I encountered during the visit.

One of his front office staff needs to check her behavior at the door to be more kind and patient. The other staff and assistants were all excellent. The reason I know Dr. Martey is excellent, is that I have gone to bad oral surgeons in the past that infected people and where pulling a tooth took weeks to heal instead of days. Santa Rosa was always good, and an Oral Surgeon in Redding is excellent, but Rog or Bog that were here years ago in Eureka were both rude, abusive, and corrupt. Thank goodness past Oral Surgeon is dead or at least gone from Humboldt County. The horrible surgeon was Rog or Bog. One was a horrible Dermatology Surgeon who mis diagnosed me and would have killed me had not Dr. Russel Pardoe saved the day. The other was a horrible Dental Surgeon. One died and the other left town, thank goodness. Hopefully, I will not need dental surgery again for a long time. However, if I do in the future I will go to Dr. Martey here locally. My teeth brake when pulled by a regular dentist, and then they need to send me to an Oral Surgeon to put me to sleep and dig the tooth fragments out. This is why I need an excellent Oral Surgeon to avoid having my roots exposed while waiting for an appointment with a proper oral surgeon to dig the tooth fragments out while asleep. My suggestion is to get Dental Insurance or have an account to save money monthly in order to have enough for to pay cash for dental emergencies not covered by Medicare.
