Great School, teachers and admin. Love this school! We have been attending there for 9 years…read more(multiple kids) and have loved the community that makes up this school. Sure we have had our share of issues but most schools have a bad teacher or two and god forbid a bad admin. But right now in 2024 we are doing really well. Great parent organization and very supportive of all types of kids and families. Everyone is truly welcome there.

The school has a pretty tight community, mostly everyone knows each other. But unfortunately the…read morepunishments are hardly ever fair, small mistakes can lead to large punishments depending on the person that is lecturing you. The staff i recommend to stay away from is ms.liza, shes pretty awful and has managed to get half of the school to hate her, and im not exaggerating theres only around 20-30 students that actually like her.The staff are pretty bad, but a lot of them are also good; so its pretty much in between, but the fact that multiple high roles havent done anything about ALL the complaints they have got about this staff is awful. So many people have talked about her to the counselor, office lady, principal, the only ones who actually tried to do something was the 5th grade teachers, thats it. They hardly do anything whenever they get complaints, one of my friends in 3rd grade was being touched in her areas, and sexually assaulted; When this was reported by the parents they were told "its not considered assault until 4th grade" assault is assault. It does not matter the age. Now onto the community and people in the school, theres many friendly people that are worth talking to, but then 80/100 of the kids in our school are overly judgemental, no matter what you do you will most likely always be put down, looks, weight, size, eye color, skin color, hair color, style, voice, anything you can think of is talked terribly about even the things your most passionate about, the school is very opening to LGBTQ+ members though, and that does make me happy, but other then the staff, and the judgement the school is pretty cool, i only recommend it if your not too sensitive. But remember never change yourself for others no matter what.

*** NOTE: This review is NOT about Village Elementary School! (which is a FABULOUS school!!) This…read morereview is intended to describe their Parent's Club President (Sherina Saul-Tuxson) ONLY. *** I attended "Family Night" here at my 3rd grade daughter's brand new school. It was especially exciting for us since I had just got married, so we were brand new to town and couldn't wait to meet new friends here! Everything was SO much fun... all the activities we got to share in with our kids and their teachers, great food and atmosphere! Then, as i was simply filling out a raffle ticket alongside other moms for our kids to win a park-date with their teacher, this woman comes STOMPING up behind me and (literally!) RIPS out my ticket from underneath my pen!!!! ...causing it to tear. I was in shock. Why this level of aggression, and in the midst of such a good time at an elementary school, and by a woman who i'd never seen before in my entire life??? Maybe it was an accident, etc... so I laughed it off and kindly asked her for a new ticket. But instead of apologizing, or explaining, or handing me another ticket... or any of the normal reactions i expected to get back from her, she took 2 giant steps -- directly into my face!! -- and yelled, "Too bad!," then walked away. I just stood there quietly IN SHOCK and confusion by what had just happened... when another mom (who saw it all) came right over to me. She told me that nasty girl was actually the Parents Club President named Sherina Saul-Tuxson, and that she had personally WITNESSED Sherina plotting with another mom to win that very raffle that i was entering!!! I coudn't believe it -- THAT is why Sherina ripped my ticket away from me!!! This woman also said that all her friends witnessed it too! (Apparently Sherina isn't terribly good at covering up her cheating.) Sure enough, that mom who Sherina was cheating for, went on to win the raffle. I just could not believe that this so-called president was capable of such low-life behavior, especially at an elementary school!!! Her CHEATING and AGGRESSIVE behavior toward me was ATROCIOUS beyond words. The next day, i reported Sherina to the principal. Although the principal was sympathetic and apologetic, she told me that since the Parents Club is separate from the school, there was nothing she could do. That is why i'm posting here -- To inform other mothers in the school, and the parents club members, about what Sherina did to me, how physically and verbally aggressively she treated me at the very first event of our loving new school, and all for NO other reason than to BULLY an unsuspecting Mother, in order to CHEAT at an elementary school family raffle. How pathetic and shameful. I'd also like to please raise awareness to elect a NEW president! I CAN'T WAIT to join the Parents Club -- as soon as she is dismissed. There is just NO ROOM for that kind of disgraceful behavior toward our fellow moms, and especially in the midst of our elementary-aged children. Thank you.

I can not rave enough about this amazing school! We transferred into the school from another…read moredistrict and feel blessed to be a part of the school community. The Principal is dynamic, invested, focused and caring. The Teachers are superb. BUT, my FAVORITE thing about Village is the diversity! The families of Village truly represent the best of America: they stem from many backgrounds but are all focused on a successful and prosperous future for their children. A++++++++++

This summer I returned to visit Strawberry Elementary School with fond amazement: Teachers take…read morestudents on trips to Washington D.C. The science classes are insightful, intellectual, not like anything I have ever seen in New York City, Las Vegas or Santa Barbara, California. How amazing is this treasure in Sonoma County! Each class was as academic as a museum. The teachers specialize by constantly training. They are literally finding new ways to make the students brighter. Brilliance seems to follow every student as the teachers work so hard preparing new ways for them to learn. I interview them. I sat down with international visitors. We watched them prepare to make the students smarter. The teachers I met had students that went on to graduate at Harvard University and Stanford University. In Santa Rosa, they prepare young, and find themselves ready for the best university on the planet. The academic interest in the students progress is extraordinary. The teachers get the parents energized. I began decades ago with the first students when the school opened. The irony is I remember when the builders were developing the school from the ground up because the houses in the area where as new as the building of Strawberry. We played soccer in a lake of mud nearly forty years ago. Now the grass is fresh, green and lively. As children years ago, we were going to Bennett Valley and Yulupa before Strawberry opened for business. Later I won the Bennett Valley Teachers Award thanks to the excellent leadership of my teacher, role models, because they were the adults I knew as my father was sick with cancer and my mother worked full time as far away as Marinwood near San Rafael. I say that the teachers of Strawberry allowed me to succeed because the events, awards, the care they gave me led to the confidence that helped me in career today. I see that the teachers are even better now with their increased technology, new text books and the trips like that one to Washington D.C. How extraordinary!
