Take the chair lift to the top of the mountainwhich in itself is good fun and provides spectacular views of the beautiful Bavarian countryside and surrounding mountain scenery. Don't get too relaxed though, you may hear the excited screams from those travelling down the coaster through the trees to your left. The coaster (self driven) is almost 3000ft from the start to finish. If you're up for a fast ride and your nerves can handle it, take your hands off the brakes and you'll reach speeds of 40 k/per hour. A fast ride may take you approx 5 minutes or 10 minutes if you go at a more leisurely pace. We went at the height of the summer school holidays. It was busy, but the queues for the chair lift kept moving and it didn't spoil our fun. If you want to go at your own steam to the top and the start of the coaster, then there's a beautiful walk along a single lane, winding road. It's just the rather steep incline you'll have to tackle, rather than the terrain. When you're at the top, there's a welcome Bavarian tavern for those in need of refreshments and a play area for smaller children, including trampolines. To be honest, we just wanted to ride the coaster a lot! The Alpsee coaster runs throughout the year too, so no excuse not to try come sun or snow. We can't wait to go back.

Amazing! We drove nearly an hour out of our way for the Alpsee Coaster, and it was well worth it…read more The drive here and the views alone made it worth it... it was so so beautiful and green and charming and picturesque, and when we finally made it to the coaster, parked the car and got out to admire the nature around us, I caught myself thinking that this was possibly the most beautiful place I've ever seen in person. Going in late September, we walked right up to the ticket counter where there was zero line - I don't know if they get busier during the summer months (judging by some of the photos on here, I'd say it does), but there was only a handful of other people around when we came. We grabbed our tickets for one ride on the coaster which if I remember correctly was like 12 USD or so, and made our way to the ski lift that brings you up to the top of the mountain. It took a good 7+ minutes to make it up to the top, but the ride was gorgeous. You get an awesome view of the Alps and the water and the sheep grazing below you. Once you've arrived at the peak, there is a cute little restaurant there where you can grab a snack or drink, and there was a trampoline pit and a park. We made our way straight to the coaster though, where the man operating it took our ticket and briefly explained how to go faster or put on the breaks... and with that, we were on our way! The coaster takes a good 3-5 minutes to go through, which is awesome since I was expecting much shorter than that. You control your own speed, but I recommend going as fast as you can the whole way down because it was a blast and I think going slow would definitely take away from the experience. There was one point where I put on the breaks a little so I could enjoy the beautiful scenery I was rolling through, but for the most part, it was game on. I was a little iffy before we got there on how safe this thing was and remember reading somewhere about flying out if you go too fast or something like that, but it was definitely safe and there were even toddlers riding with their parents. And I'd even say that people who don't really enjoy roller coasters would probably like the Alpasee coaster since you don't do flips or have big drops or anything. Definitely recommend checking out the Alpasee coaster if you are in the general area, and I wish we had gone through a second time! So fun!

We stumbled across this park on our way to Oberammagau and decided to visit it on the way back…read morethrough. Our visit to Skyline Park marked our fifth visit to an amusement park in Germany (Legoland, Tripsdrill, Europa Park, and Schwaben Park being the other four). The park is fairly expansive and it seems like they are adding new rides, as there was some construction happening when we were there (July 2015). Skyline Park had some good rides and some original ones we haven't seen before. They had a Tarzan swing, which puts any zipline to shame. There was a boat ride which literally launches you off a ramp, then pulls you back on the ramp. My only issues with the park seemed to be the maintenance of the rides. We went in July, which should be peak season for the park. However, there were more than a few rides that were down for maintenance for half of the day and the rides that were working seemed to be in need of a mechanical and aesthetic overhaul. Overall, the park was a great way to spend a Friday afternoon, however, if given the choice, I would go with Trispdrill or Europa Park.

We arrived an hour before check in and they allowed us to check in early. They did a great job setting up and decorating the room for the birthday package. Our room was clean and had a great view overlooking the property. & yes it has air conditioning! We booked an online package deal that included the room, park tickets, breakfast & dinner. The breakfast had a wide selection of pastries, fruits, and made to order eggs. They also offered juice and coffee. I really enjoyed the convenience that we could just walk downstairs and have breakfast then go back up and get ready to head out to the park. For dinner you had to make reservations. There is a steak restaurant but it was currently closed during our stay. We went to the Pirate restaurant which is attached to the Pirate hotel and the kids loved the big pirate ship play ground. The food is served family style and you can pick either chicken or beef. The portions are HUGE! They took a lot of care in preparing the chicken. It was delicious and the kids devoured it. My daughter was excited for a photo opportunity with a Lego Pirate character. The next night we tried the buffet which has a bowling alley underneath the restaurant. With Covid guidelines in place you first must sanitize your hands and then wear a disposable glove before you are allowed to touch anything from the buffet. They offered lego French fries , chicken nuggets, & pizza for the kids. For myself the food was okay/mediocre. For the same euro amount I much rather have eaten at the Pirate restaurant again. From the hotel they give you a map where you can enter the legoland park from a back side entrance. It's a nice little 8 minute stroll through the forest. There's a little scavenger hunt you can do while walking to the park and you can turn it in the gift shop for a free gift. Luckily it wasn't too busy or crowded. We never waited in line longer than 5 mins for any of the kid rides. We were able to ride some rides multiple times because no one was in line. I had put our waters in the icebox in our room and packed them frozen with a bunch a snacks for the kids. We took a wagon with a cooler on the first day and then just an umbrella stroller the next day. Take what you are comfortable lugging around. Less is better & easier for me. Also pack some bathing suits, towels, and a change of clothes. My kids enjoyed the rides but I think they loved the splash park area even more! I also liked that they offered several baby/nursing rooms sponsored by Hipp baby company. I love that Legoland caters to kids. It was a great family experience and I highly recommend staying on the property. Looking forward to next time!

Bought my tickets on TripAdvisor's site, which was a little cheaper. While the tickets didn't scan, I was still able to get into the park. Park was nicely laid out and had a lot of things the boys enjoyed. Really love the Star Wars displays, along with the different Euro cities. Didn't buy the food packages and didn't need it since I don't have big eaters. Love the fact that I can get wine with my lunch. Great day and only got through 65% of the park. Kids had a great time and really enjoyed the driving school, even though it was in German. They loved being able to drive around the track, which they can't do in the States. Bought the parking ticket online, so was able to leave quickly. Would love to come back here again.
