Our visit to Skyline Park marked our fifth visit to an amusement park in Germany (Legoland, Tripsdrill, Europa Park, and Schwaben Park being the other four). The park is fairly expansive and it seems like they are adding new rides, as there was some construction happening when we were there (July 2015). Skyline Park had some good rides and some original ones we haven't seen before. They had a Tarzan swing, which puts any zipline to shame. There was a boat ride which literally launches you off a ramp, then pulls you back on the ramp. My only issues with the park seemed to be the maintenance of the rides. We went in July, which should be peak season for the park. However, there were more than a few rides that were down for maintenance for half of the day and the rides that were working seemed to be in need of a mechanical and aesthetic overhaul. Overall, the park was a great way to spend a Friday afternoon, however, if given the choice, I would go with Trispdrill or Europa Park.

The stadium tours were off for the week due to Metallica concerts but it was cool that we got to listen to them warm up. You could hear them all over the park. Wow, what a pleasant surprise…read more This place isn't much to look at, but we had a terrific experience with a two year old and a four year old. The park consists of mostly three types of attractions: smaller scale theme park rides, playground type structures and animatronic storytelling scenes. So much to share, so I'm just going to bullet point it, otherwise I'm going to go off on tangents everywhere: - we went on a Wednesday morning/afternoon and it was nearly empty. Probably 30-40 people max, including the kids. We kept running into the same people all over the park. - the cafe closes early, around 2-3, so eat early. - entrance closes at 4, but you can stay later, though I'm not sure how much later. - may be different when the park is busier, but not all of the rides are constantly running. There will be posted signs of when the next ride is scheduled. For instance, the next roller coaster ride may be at 2:15, while the next time you can ride the train is 2:30. - again, this may only be on slower days, but the staff is pretty small. So, the guy who runs the train, may also be responsible for the teacup ride. It's pretty funny. He'll run the train for 10-15 minutes, then you'll see him shut up shop on that ride, then head over to operate the next ride. - some of the rides are do-it-yourself. You hop on, strap yourself in (if necessary), then press the start button. This includes some pretty elaborate rides that flip you upside down and swing you back and forth pretty wildly. Sadly, this could never work in the US, because too many people would feign injury and sue the park. When we first walked in and I saw a playground to my left, i had my doubts. But turned out to be a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I highly recommend. Definitely worth the 12-13 euros.

They have a couple of big rides but nothing that flips you upside down. I was able to take my 8 year old on everything. Safety is something of a major difference between Germany and the States. yes, our safety is controlled by some 16 year old working for minimum wage but at least there is someone checking ANYTHING! Here there was the one guy behind glass pressing the GO button. No one checks to see if your kid is tall enough. No one checks to make sure you are strapped in correctly. A couple of the rides are automated so the chair doesn't even stop! You kinda have to jump in and strap in FAST. Also there really wasn't any real souvenirs. The gift shops were filled with junky dollar store trinkets. Nothing was worth buying. You do get a free child's glass or adult wine glass with your entry ticket, which was nice. As for food, there is one inside restaurant. It was expensive and the food wasn't all that great. It was cold the day we went so we gladly paid for the heated dining experience. Like any other theme park, the kiosks and carts are expensive too. However, you can bring in your own food and drinks. I didn't know this at first so I sneaked in a drink and some small snack items. If I had known, I would have brought a picnic basket full like everyone else did! We went with friends who bought season tickets. I don't think it's a place worth season tickets. One time was enough for us. There are other places worth the money.

Traumland is more geared for the younger crowd -- 3 years to 9 years -- and the entire park has a fairy land theme to it. There are plenty of rides for the kids, young and old, and there are a fair amount of parks and climbing structures that the kids can play on if they tire of the rides. The food options are the standard German fare, but like the other parks we've been to, are priced respectively. For example, a brat with bread (rotebrat mit brotchen) will set you back 2.40 Euro, which is pretty much what it costs anywhere else. They have a good selection of Berg beer, from Kristallweisen, Hell, and Radler beers. Overall, great small theme park for the kids. Our boys enjoyed themselves, mostly because they could do all of the rides. We'll likely come back here in the future. My only point of contention is the cost (48 Euro for a family of four) for as small as it is, but when i consider how much other parks cost (Sensapolis for example), the cost is probably fair.

Ravensburger Spielland is a paradise for children, especially for young children. There is a huge…read moreamount of different attractions in this beautifully scaped amusement park, definitely worth a visit, despite the high entrance fees. What we liked a lot was the fact that despite the artifical set-up of every amusement park, it has a lot of connections to the nature and animals.
