Most times, you are 50 feet or more from the lake. Even so, it is hard to believe a trail exists so close to Broadway. Just don't set your expectations high. Upon reaching the lake, I would go left. It is a loop so it really doesn't matter, but the eastern side is more naturalistic with a view. It is the closest point of contact with the lake. If you go the other way, you abruptly come to a residential neighborhood and most head up the block to continue the trail. Picnic tables and playground on the other end (midpoint). As a side note, how are lakes the size of ponds and reservoirs the size of lakes around here?

Its also set back far away from the streets so no worries about your kids running into the street. There are smooth walkways for bikes & a more sandy nature path too for adventurous tots. Street parking only, but pro tip: if you want the shortest entry park on Tamarack Ave. No bathrooms tho!! Probably the only negative. What bothered me most, however, was the timing. I was originally scheduled for an earlier morning flight, but my departure time kept getting pushed back. When I finally arrived for my flight, clouds had moved in, which impacted the thermals and ultimately the flight duration. Two other people flew ahead of me during the time I was originally scheduled to fly. As a result, I felt like I had been bumped to a later time and, unfortunately, ended up with a much shorter and less enjoyable flight experience because of it. The experience itself was fun, but I was disappointed with how the scheduling was handled and with the overall value given the very short flight time.

I left voicemails for Emily, head of the Customer Department, for more than three weeks and never got a response. I could not send an email because my emails were hacked and I am still trying to straighten them out. At this point, I am certain that if I had been able to send an email, Emily would not have responded. After being completely ignored by Emily I wrote a letter to Cliff Bosley, director of the Bolder Boulder. I wrote the letter more than two weeks ago and am still waiting for a reply. On the morning of this year's 10K I had a family emergency and could not participate in the race. It was my intention to see if it were possible to get a credit for next year's race since I paid for this year. Obviously, the answer is no because I have been completely ignored. I have done the Bolder Boulder many times before and enjoyed it. But, I will never do it again. It will not be a loss to the 10K organizers because the race is very successful and they do not care about individuals or their complaints. Why does the Bolder Boulder even have a customer service department which does nothing? Why is Emily even employed by them when she does not do her job? And, what does Cliff Bosley direct considering that he does not supervise the staff? These questions are entirely rhetorical and I expect no answers. If it were possible I would give them ZERO STARS.

This has to be a logistical nightmare! Couldn't have been more wrong. What fantastic management. Found parking with little issue, the wave starts are well managed and the race course itself was fun. Where else will a 10k have an Elvis, belly dancers, slip-n-slides, donut stops, jello shots, etc? Such fun! AND the stadum finish with F-16 fly overs and parachute drop-ins made it such a great time. At the finish there is food and water and beer, etc. And it flows too! Not a big backup as one may imagine. The only thing that surprised me was there were no finisher's medallions. Those would have been a nice touch.

Truly great if your kids are between 2-5yrs old, this is a wonderful motor skills playground. It has a woodland theme with cute mushroom steps & faux wood decorative details. There is a permanent shaded picnic bench area with two long picnic benches. No bbq facilities anywhere. There are also benches throughout for close by seating. In the summer they put out two cloth tarps for shading the sandpit and part of the playground too. There are a few huge green grass areas great for frisbee & soccer fun. Also a long pathway around good for bikes & scooters. The neighborhood locals walk their dogs on it and it leads to a longer trail network. There is no bathroom here at all tho! Definitely worth a visit however.

Year round I have seen people fishing in it's crisp waters and you just know summer is near/here with the CU students bouncing through the rapids on air mattresses, bike tubes, and inner tubes. I highly recommend bringing out of town guests to dip their feet or just gaze at it's beauty from the shore.
