She has 3 horses so this is an extremely personal / intimate experience. The minimum ride is 3 hours, we chose a 4 hour ride and brought a lunch. She helps you from start to finish if you're an inexperienced rider, if you're experienced you'll also thoroughly enjoy the ride. You assist her with grooming, saddling, cooling the horses after the ride, everything. This is an option that I highly encourage as it allows you time to bond with your horse. The horses (Duke, Missy "Baby Horse") are VERY well cared for, loved, and are so responsive to Sydney. Whether you are an experienced or inexperienced rider you will love this ride. You will ALWAYS feel safe, especially since there's just 3 of you. I highly recommend Alpine Stables and Sydney for your Rocky Mountain ride. The views are spectacular!

Led by read and local people. Friendly - A local family that has owned and run Meeker Park Lodge for-ev-er comes out to greet you and welcome you to their little piece of paradise. On-site staff often feature Ms Dever's herself, but you may also meet Chloe, a local high schooler who has been working with horses since she was 13. Barb may lead your ride...and she may sing you one of her cowboy (girl?) originals. Affordable - $35/hr (summer 2017) per person is a very good price for a spry horse, expert guides, and a lifetime experience. Beautiful - If you want Rocky Mountain beauty as it was intended...this is it. We've been on 1hr and 2hr rides to stunning places at Meeker Park Stables; from babbling brooks to rocky topped mountains and beautiful wildflower meadows to scented forests. Took our deposit, called and texted multiple times the day before while we were on a white water…read moretrip, got a call from him as soon as we got back to the phone, wanted the other half of payment (which he said was supposed to be due upon arrival) , we sent the other half immediately (same as we did with the deposit 3 days prior) , got confirmation of the time/ place. Woke up early the next day, got to the spot 15 minutes early, sent a text, called... waited 40 minutes called again.. waited 5 minutes called again, spoke with neighbors around where we were supposed to Leave out from to no avail. Extremely disappointed. Been to Colorado multiple times on multiple rides with personal animals.. first time every paying for an outfitter and was sorely disappointed... do better Mr. Travis. Sharing in hopes he doesn't do it to someone else whos looked forward to something like this all week after driving 20 hours. Currently on the phone with bank getting debit card deactivated trying to recoupe some funds from it. Been to horse camps all over the south/west and never encountered this. E.g. one specifically liked playing in water, one really liked the cow's molasses in buckets nearby, some had a little bit more sass than the others, etc. The little tidbits that she gave for each horse was a clear indication that the staff & owners cared for and loved these horses - this is enough for any animal lover to want to support this business. It also made it easier to connect with and understand our horses to make the experience more enjoyable. HCT was otherwise fairly priced & reasonably understanding if customers are running late. The trails were beautiful and unique. The dogs running along with us were entertaining. I couldn't have asked for a better time! Note: They have a little outhouse on the side, but unless you're ok with those, be sure to use the bathroom before!

This was my first time in Colorado and this was my favorite experience out of the entire trip! It's such a beautiful way to see the Rocky Mountains. Everyone who works there is knowledgeable and will make you feel at ease throughout the ride. I did the three hour and I highly recommend it but be aware your legs and booty will be hurting for a couple of days haha!! Still worth it! When I visit Colorado again, I will 100% be booking a ride here.

As an experienced rider, I was looking for a trail ride that would not be the stereotypical nose-to-tail walking trail ride that is so commonly offered, and this trail ride did not disappoint! We were able to ride in a pack, side-by-side each other. We rode from the ranch, out through a pasture, and up a hillside to the top of the butte. On the butte, they let us experienced riders do more than walk on our horses. Amy, Josh, and Josh were so warm and welcoming and shared some history about the area. Fantastic tour guides, and amazing humans. My friend and I were visiting Colorado for about a week, and Amy gave us some recommendations of additional things to do/see while we were in the area, as well. Next time I make it back to Colorado, I would absolutely go back and visit Platte Ranch again. Cannot recommend this place enough for those looking for a truly awesome riding experience in the mountains!!

The horses were all fantastic, the wranglers were very friendly, very informative, and amazing at their job, and the scenery was breathtaking. I would almost go back to Colorado for another vacation just to go riding here again. I cannot recommend it enough!!! Not only was the ride amazing, and the scenery too, but our trail guides were the very best. They engaged with each one individually, tried to learn a little about each of us and made sure everyone was having a good time, that we were all comfortable, and they let us know several times to just ask if there was anything we needed.
