The jist: Great clean laundromat with excellent conveniences like dry cleaning, laundry card, and laundry drop off and great service. The details: An oasis for us apartments dwellers without laundry services of our own, Freeway Laundry III: The Third One is better than the sequel but not as good as the original (I'm assuming). This particular laundromat is one of the better places I've been to. The space is very clean and the staff is friendly. Although some of their policies are geared towards soaking up any bit of cash they can. For example, do you want a plastic bag because you forgot your laundry bag? That's gonna cost ya. Lint roller? Cost ya! Paper towels? Well, those are free but there are a few things that you'd think would be free but aren't. The location itself is convenient. There's a mini mart right up the street and a few cool eateries nearby if you're the type to put your laundry in and leave. Speaking of laundry, the washers are divided into various weights, the smallest being 20lbs and the largest coming in at 75lbs. Costs increase as you go further up the washer scale. Costs also vary by the temperature of water you choose. Dryers, however, remain flat at around .30 for 7 minutes. Freeway provides the convenience of doing your laundry for you and picking it up. Just be aware, they charge by weight. The vending machines (one for snacks and soda, the other filled with small-sized laundry accoutrement) and proprietary charge card are a convenience I couldn't go there without. Not a fan of searching endlessly for coins. The dry-cleaning service is pretty quick and gets the job done for a nice price. My only quibble is with the customers themselves but they're not the worst people you could spend 2 hours on a Saturday with. Overall, this is the only place I'd want to wash my clothes...until I get a washer/dryer. Then I'll end this Tide fresh scented love affair. read more

I come here all the time (check my feed), and it's for the free 30lb wash! Of course, I wouldn't keep coming back if the laundromat wasn't clean, well lit, and comfortable (all of which it is). The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about how to correctly check in to use your free wash. Plenty of machines, and three large sofas to rest on while you wait. They also offer local magazines to keep up with all the events happening in DownCity. Nice folding tables with attached trash bins. You'll frequently see staff cleaning the dryer vents. Excellent service, the staff were very friendly and showed me how to use everything. The laundry is very clean and they have a comfy lounge area where you can wait. A wash, dry and some laundry powder cost about $7. They also offer a wash and fold service and dry cleaning. Open until 10pm so handy for travellers, and walking distance from most of the hotels. read more

This place is by far the best laundry mat ive ever been to..its clean, staff is very nice, price is good,comfy couch area, free wi-fi and not to mention hi tech washing machines. Been going here for about the last 3 months and generally 1x week. Place is super clean, prices are very reasonable and staff nice and very helpful. No need for coins, everything (including vending machines) uses laundry card, which you can purchase and reload with either cash or credit/debit cards. They also have plenty of seating, parking (both in lot and on street) and free wi-fi. Will never go to another laundromat again! read more

This place is great. Clean, lots of efficient machines and a friendly helpful staff. I'm in and out within an hour, around 30 min for most wash cycles and about 30 min to dry, about 3 or 4 drying cycles. They have plenty of clean folding tables, lots of carts, free wifi, comfortable seating and several TVs. They also will do all your laundry, fold and organize for a reasonable price. Went here twice and on Sunday and dropped off dry cleaning. Both times I asked if I could have them by Tuesday and they said sure, anytime after 4...so I dropped off my laundry. Both times showed up after 4 on Tuesday and nothing is there... No apology, no discounted price for screwing up.... If I had known I wouldn't get my clothes I would have left them. expensive. you have to have a special laundry card to use the machines and the kiosk type machine that adds money to the card sometime messes up and doesn't credit you the money you put in. when I lived on Broadway years ago this was the best laundromat. now I'm just thrilled we have a new washer and dryer at home. read more

This laundry mat is very clean and modern. The staff is very attentive and helpful. The only problem I have with Freeway, and it's a major one, is that the machines do not put enough water on the clothes. As a result your clothes don't get clean. The clothes sometimes come out dry, as if a they haven't been touched by a drop of water. I pointed this out to an attendant last week. My clothes were being turned by the machine, but you could clearly see that some were still dry. the machine had been running for ten minutes. Her suggestion was that I get a container and put more water in the machine through the soap shute. She then proceeded to do it, missing the whole point. She didn't return form the other cycles. I would either have to run the machine again or put about five articles of clothing in at a time to accommodate the small amount of water put on the clothes. Both cases would make laundry an extremely expensive proposition.As convenient as Freeway is, and they may have WiFi, which is great, because i can do my work while I wash, I might have to stop going there. Wouldn't let me wash a blanket for my dying son. What a horrible experience and terrible customer service. This incident happened over a year ago, but I feel the need to write a review because it was just awful. I had been going to Freeway for many years and raved about it to many friends, family, and acquaintances. All the staff was so kind. I used to go here even during the times when I lived an hour away. There was one time I left a throw blanket that was given to me by my grandmother and, when I went back a few days later, the girl there was really sweet and told me she wasn't sure if it was still there but that she would go downstairs to look. She found it and brought it back to me with a smile. That made me love this place even more than before. After some time, the management seemed to change and it was a new girl working there. She was always rude to me every single time I was there. I am a pretty friendly, laid-back personality, so it would catch me off-guard. A different time, I was there doing laundry with my boyfriend and he accidentally left my couch cover in the dryer. When I went there the next day, I asked the new girl if she wouldn't mind checking to see if they had it. She refused and aggressively told me that it wasn't there, even though she didn't look. On this next and final instance, the day before Thanksgiving, I called them in the morning to ask if they were operating on their normal business hours and what time is the last load. I was told that everything is the same and last load is 9:30 pm. After work, I went there with only a blanket to throw in the wash. I arrived at 9:20 pm and when I walked through the doors, the first thing I said was "Sorry! I know last load is 9:30 pm!" This girl yelled over to me with an attitude and asked me what I was washing. I told her it was just a blanket and I didn't even have to put it in the dryer. She told me I couldn't wash it. I informed her that I called that morning specifically to see if I could make it there, instead of another laundromat. She started yelling louder saying it doesn't matter. I wasn't going to get into personal details, but I told her I wanted to wash this blanket for a family member who is very sick and tomorrow is the holiday and that I was there before the last load cut-off. She came closer to me and VERY rudely said, "We ALL have people in our families who's sick. And WE want to enjoy OUR holiday too." Needless to say, I left there immediately on the brink of tears. My 7 year old son was terminally ill with cancer and he died 2 weeks later. I was looking to wash his blanket for him because I wasn't sure if it would be his last holiday. And it was. Absolutely terrible customer service. It is such a shame having that nasty girl working there, treating good customers this way. I have never stepped foot in there again, even with over $100 dollars on my Freeway laundry card, and I never recommended them to in my networks ever again, worried they will have an unsettling experience with them. It is such an upsetting memory for me as someone who has worked with the public my entire life (20 years). I had never met such a mean-hearted person before. read more

I was not disappointed, this place was a little bit on the expensive sign but it was clean and people were nice there. If I lived in the area I would definitely come back. After my first time using their wash/dry/fold service I'm very impressed. Not only are their prices totally reasonable relatively speaking ($1.15 per pound), but they're super efficient. Dropped 50lbs of laundry off on a Saturday around noon for it to be ready by 9pm that night. On top of that, their system is very updated & makes being a customer easy. You get a member card so they can swipe it and look up your order etc. They also have a punch card; after 11 drop offs, 12th is free up to 40lbs. They take cards (rather than cash only) as well. Facility is clean, and parking is available. They also complied 100% with my request to have a handful of items washed only/hung to dry. So far I'm in love with Freeway Laundry!! I have only visited this location (Broadway in Providence), as a side note. But would definitely recommend them for wash/dry/fold. They had a ton of self service machines as well so if you're looking to do your laundry yourself seems pretty legit. Lots of comfortable seating for waiting. Keep it up Freeway Laundry!! read more
