While I was a long time customer of Courtesy Cleaners, recent pick-ups have shown damage to clothing. From a suit with spots that had to be removed by another cleaning service, to a button melted from hear and a vest completely missing its fastener upon pickup I have been thoroughly disappointed. Five stars across the board! I sent a light colored Canada goose coat to them that had oil stains on it. The first time around they weren't able to get the stains out and the owner himself called me and gave me his expert opinion on what he would recommend. Dry cleaning service is decent and fast at around $2.95 per shirt. Usually I go to have my shirts cleaned and enjoy being greeted by the women taking the orders. However, it would be really beneficial to have the pick up service be more readily available. They mentioned that you need to be a weekly customer to get pick up service, but as someone who doesn't use the service that often, it can be extra. Besides the disappointment with the inconvenient pick up service, Courtesy Cleaners is a good spot in Providence for dry cleaning. read more

As a woman who flagrantly ignores "dry clean only" labels, I don't have much experience with dry cleaners in the area. I have no idea what a normal pricing scheme or turnaround time is for dry cleaning. But Courtesy Cleaners does a great job with my rare dry cleaning needs! My clothes are sparkling clean and good as new. The location is super convenient: it's right by Eastside Marketplace, Rite Aid, the gym, the bank, and the liquor store, so you can get all your errands done in one place! Plus you never have to worry about parking. The employees are very nice. It did take almost a week (Saturday to Friday) for my clothes to be ready, but it was a holiday week so I think they'd be faster normally. As advertised, they gave me the "new customer" offer of one free item, which was much appreciated -- I didn't even have to ask! There is not much differentiation with dry cleaners......unless you destroy clothes. I dropped off dress shirts for cleaning and they were not only returned with a rip across all of the sleeves (it looked like Freddy Krueger was chopping onions on the shirts), but they also told me it was my fault they ripped. I did not realize I paid to dry clean my own shirts then ripped them because it was a Tuesday and it sounded like fun. My recommendation, just go to a different dry cleaner. read more

A quick update for these guys as in the four plus years I've been going there, I've never once even considered going elsewhere. That's how fantastic they are. Their prices are totally reasonable and similar to what you'd find elsewhere, but the thing that set them apart is the attention to details, the efficient nature of the staff and the overall incredibly organized and customer-focused operation. They never rush through a drop-off, but take the time to ask you what the stain is, and address the likeliness of being able to get it out for you. If there's even the slightest trace of a stain remaining post-cleaning, they make sure you're aware of it, which I really appreciate (and PS, they usually are so faint you can barely see them -- I have never deemed an item unwearable after going through Courtesy). Great service! Clean, fast and a job done well! First time having them clean and press my shirts, and I was pleased. They charge 2.95$ per shirt and either can have no starch or light/medium/strong starch. Went with the light starch and felt that was good enough. They also took care of a stain on a shirt which I was about to throw away and hadn't worn for a while! Overall great service, they do have delivery and pickup but not sure how often you have to use that service. read more

Brought in my first ever garments to be dry cleaned. Traditionally I try to steer clear of purchasing these types of garments but I guess buying grown up clothes means you need to treat them like the grown ups do. Checking in the dresses were really easy and for $24 for two with same day service. They came out perfectly pressed and even sans stains were pretty great. I dropped off a number of pieces, including a white blouse with a large coffee stain right in the middle. Now, being the procrastinator that I am, this stain had been setting into this shirt for almost three months before I took it to the cleaners. The woman informed me that it may be difficult to remove since it had been there for so long, but that they would do their best. I picked my clothes up today and there is not one trace of that stain! I've only used them once, but it was for a very important item. I needed my wedding gown cleaned and pressed for my wedding. The gown I purchased was a floor sample from 2011, so the hem was a little discolored, there was a stain on the train, and the entire thing was very wrinkled from being in a bag for years on end. I took to yelp to see where I should go and this was at the top of the list. I called first to see if they could accommodate me, and the manager I spoke with was very friendly. She told me to come in with the dress and she'd assess it. When I brought it down, she checked the material, told me it could be dry cleaned, we found and marked all the stains, and she assured me it would be ready the following Wednesday (I took it in on a Friday afternoon). Wednesday came around and it was ready...I picked it up and it looked great! I was very relieved that all went well and that it was done in time, as my wedding was that Saturday! The total cost was $150 (most of that being the pressing), which I thought was totally fair. I'll admit I was apprehensive dropping my dress off someplace I'd never been so close to when I needed it ready, but they were professional and did a great job. read more

When looking for a good cleaners, location is usually my first consideration. Granted, I don't have many exotic fabrics in my wardrobe. However, I do work in a white collar environment, so having my shirts and jackets laundered is a great help to me throughout the week. This Courtesy Cleaners has been very helpful to me. Very good dry cleaners. I use then frequently and they are great at removing stains. They can be rude at times though. They offer in by 9 out by 5 service, but act as if I am am being unreasonable if I take advantage of that service. I went in the other day before 9 and asked for my clothes to be ready at 5 the following day. The woman gave a sigh and acted surprised that I would dare ask for that. She mentioned something to the effect that I was rushing them. She may not have meant to be rude but it was very off putting. Overall this is a great dry cleaner. Best dry cleaners I've ever used. They don't reuse water or chemicals, so your white clothes won't get dingy or yellow.

I got a bunch of suits and dress shirts for interviews dry cleaned here and they were very quickly and nicely cleaned (Got close to 15 items done in 2 days). I think they are on the more affordable side for dry cleaning compared to some other places in the city. However, I needed a small mend on the hem of a dress as well as needing it dry cleaned and they said it would take over a week! They don't have a tailor in house all the time like some other dry cleaners do in Providence, so I had to go elsewhere. read more

I was told today that they no longer do tailoring and do not do their own leather cleaning-they have another company do it at a markup (i.e. the clerk told me to go directly to their contractor for a cheaper price).
