Heres an INVOICE# 28726 installed on 04/03/26 so now they cant use the excuse that they didnt see…read morean invoice number in their records. I got my RGB Halo kit, the installation was solid however they did NOT follow the instructions for the wiring part, they took the positive cable and tapped it into a fuse box that makes the halos turn on when in ACC mode and didnt fully understand WHAT that does. Doing this resulted in an over flow of current which forced the 10A fuse the halos were rated for to pop after all the research I done i've concluded that this isn't normal because I replaced the fuse 6 times within 1 week. In addition to this there was a parking cable that came with the wiring that they FAILED to connect. I contacted them to address my concerns of the 10A fuse consistently popping and the parking cable not being connected. they said they would honor their installation warranty and to bring the car back. Mind you I have to use PTO because this shop is only open Monday-friday and in addition to that I live 45 minutes away. I take PTO to go back to the shop to have them check their work. Instead of getting to the root of why the fuse was popping, their thought process was let's just insert a 15A fuse instead and tell him that the parking cable is optional but not required. then send him on his way which is what they did sadly. Installing a bigger fuse was NOT the answer and here's why. When aftermarket items come with a fuse holder and provides a fuse that its RATED for, it's extremely important to use that exact fuse for the exact reason of, if there is an overflow of current the fuse will pop, that's what the fuse is supposed to do. I don't think they fully understood what putting a bigger fuse does. When you install a bigger fuse, it completely cancels the idea of protecting the electrical system by bypassing the popping. Which means there will be an excess of current flowing through. Which means that if the fuse popping is being bypassed, you're taking a risk of the wiring getting hot and overheating, which can lead to a fire. After leaving the shop I called them back to explain it to them, and the person I spoke with told me that putting the 15A fuse is perfectly fine and that the wires will not get hot and overheat. Because I have the knowledge of what could happen with installing a bigger fuse, it made me feel like they insulted my intelligence which really pissed me off because I feel like nothing got done. No inspection, no research, NOTHING on their part which also means I wasted a whole day of PTO and wasted gas just for them to Insult my intelligence. So, I removed the 15A fuse and put the 10A fuse back in so that everything can remain protected. So if in the event there is an overflow, the fuse will still do its job and pop. Mind you I called the company that supplied me the RGB halos. They asked me to provide them with photos of how it was installed and I did. After they reviewed the photos they've concluded that I needed a brand new controller which comes with brand new wiring. They went ahead and sent it to me. And I received it as well as installed It MYSLEF as well as FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS which STATES that the parking wire is to be tapped in to a fuse box source that runs on ACC so that the halos can come on when you turn the car on and turn off when you turn the car off, which makes perfect sense and is exactly what I did. And now the halos work perfectly fine. Without the fuse popping, they also turn on when the car turns on and they also turn off when I turn the car off. Now would you look at that! All of this confirms that I knew exactly what I was talking about. Mind you I'm not an electrician, nor am I a certified auto. Mechanic, however, I have experienced in electrical and car audio which is how I knew I was right. With these photos I have, we can clearly see that this was NOT the proper way to install the wiring. This is exactly why it's important to educate ourselves on this type of stuff because these shops sit here and rely on our ignorance and yet have the audacity to tell us to come back for future work. because I had to do all of this Myself, I will NOT be going back for future work.
