Worst CarPlay installation ever. Got charged 1300 to put a tiny Bluetooth Apple CarPlay screen in my car. They up charged me because I'm a female. The CarPlay barely works and my volume doesn't go up nearly as loud anymore and my speakers constantly crackle. They did a horrible job and messed up the audio for my whole car. My car (Cadillac) had a spiderweb cracked touch screen on the main control panel. Cadillac won't recall it, and quoted $1500 for replacement. No thank you. I searched and found Freeman's. The quote I received was $250, plus labor and tax. Yes! Sign me up! I brought the car in on a Thursday and the removed the entire center unit . I wasn't expecting that. The unit controlled the heat, housed the backup camera and radio. I definitely didn't think this through, it's winter! My unit was ready exactly a week later, it was installed quickly. It looks and works great. My total was around $420. A fraction of what the dealership quoted. I'll definitely be back, they offer tinting services, I may check that out. read more

Overall a great vendor to do business with. I've used them four times, twice for remote start installs and twice for car audio installs. They're often more expensive than the big box competition, but they're more versatile and more flexible in many ways. For example, Best Buy refused to do my remote start because I had some preexisting lighting I had installed myself and they said they couldn't take responsibility for anything going wrong. Freeman's didn't blink an eye and worked right around it. On the last car audio install, they nicked a safety wire that tripped a bunch of errors, but they found the issue and fixed it right there. That's the only reason for docking a star. But as I said, they made it right. My only other observation is that I found out after the second remote start install that the vehicle had that capability OEM already installed. Wish they had told me that beforehand -- assuming they knew or should have known -- but I'm not blaming them for that because I really should have known that myself. In the end, the Viper annual subscription for cellular capability was significantly less than the OEM service, so in the long run I think it still will be worth it. read more

Update - Sorry had to downgrade from 5 to 3 stars because the ceiling air vent cover fell off. Upon inspection it seems whoever did the work ripped it down with the liner and basically broke it. So instead of buying a replacement part, they used a black substance in attempts to glue it back. Bad move. A professional installation shop would not break something and just glue it back. Further, a reputable installer would know how to bring down a liner without damaging air vent covers. This is so disappointing as my initial review was glowing. I went to the dealer and bought the part and installed it myself. The other items work well but this one flaw will define how I view the place... Excellent work! I bought a used car and it had an irritating rattle inside the headliner. The dealer said the repair would be coat prohibited and on several car forums my issue was common but extremely difficult and expense to fix. I explained my case to Chin at this location and was extremely grateful for his honest and professional approach. They finished the work and absolutely no rattles! I was so pleased I had then install the Dynamat on all four doors and even had an XM module installed. Best of all, THEY DID THE WORK RIGHT YHE FIRST TIME. I can't tell you how many times I've had work done at other stereo stores and had to take it back because I heard rattles after the install or found broken clips or other annoyances. To top it off, they finished the work a day ahead of schedule! I'm definitely going back and telling all my friends. read more

Edit: I'm lowering this review from 5-stars to 3-stars. I wrote the original review prematurely. After having been around inside my car a bit I have noticed broken rivets & clips and pieces of carpet were never put back where they should have been. Also, many leftover pieces of wire and debris were left in the crevices and sides of the seat. My biggest issue is every time I turn my car on I hear a pop come from the JL subwoofer that was bought and installed at Freeman's. I brought this up to Joel (manager) and he told me to turn my stereo off before I turn the car off but the pop just returned when I turn the stereo on. I'm having to get these issues fixed elsewhere. Other than what I just mentioned everything else was done well and done just as I had requested. ______________________________________________ I would recommend Freeman's to anyone. I worked with Joel during my experience there and he was very helpful and a straight shooter with me. I called in one day and spoke to him about my issue and he briefly discussed over the phone then told me to come into to discuss further. I drove up there and he explained and demonstrated the difference of sound with various equipment. This was very helpful and informative in my decision of what equipment I was going to need. I had him make me up a quote, everything was priced great. I compared his pricing with online retailers. His original quote contained the same price for the sub on Crutchfield. Then I spoke to him again and I asked him to match Crutchfield price for the amplifier and he was able to go lower than Crutchfield. Install price was very very reasonable compared to a few other places I looked up. My total invoice when I paid came in $5 less than my quote which I was very pleased about, no extra nonsense added later. Install was great. I had a few minor requests which Joel didn't hesitate to tell me they could accomplish. I didn't notice any broken parts of anything from installation. Everything looks like it did when I dropped my car off, except when you turn up the volume! Sounded exactly the way I had described to Joel what I was looking for. One of my favorite parts was the bass control knob placement. I had only expected it to be up under the dash, but what they did was awesome. They were able to place it on the center console of my Jeep Wrangler in a vacant spot under the arm rest that makes it look as if the knob was OEM. Such a cool added feature and I've realized how much more convenient it is. Again, I would recommend Freeman's. read more
