The optometrist, was thorough and explained everything clearly during my eye exam. The technology they use is top-notch, and I appreciated the detailed report of my eye health. The selection of glasses and contacts is impressive, and the prices are very competitive. I ended up getting a great deal on a pair of designer frames. The customer service was exceptional, from the initial consultation to the follow-up appointment to adjust my glasses. Everyone was courteous, professional, and genuinely cared about my satisfaction. I don't care how close this place is to my home, I will gladly drive to get better service! I got a new prescription and I realized about 5 months later that the reason I couldn't see my computer at work is because of my new prescription. I thought it was just my eyes getting worse since I was on vacation for the summer (3 months) until my friend gave me her glasses and I could see! I looked at her prescription and she had my OLD prescription!! I was so annoyed that I went that long not being able to see. I called and asked them to simply write me a script with my OLD prescription and explained why. They told me they would have to charge me $40 to simply write me my original prescription?!?! I said "really?! You guys got my prescription wrong and I have to pay to put it back?! She said yes because it had been past 30 days. I explained to her my situation and honestly, regardless- you got my prescription WRONG! That is a fair reason to fix it. I wasn't asking for another exam- just simply renew my old original prescription. Let's not forget the money I spent on new glasses with that bad prescription and I wasn't asking for that back. I just wanted my old prescription renewed. They refused. That alone shows me they do not care to correct their mistake. They only care about making money. A piece of paper does not cost $40! I'll take my business back to Target. Both the Moorpark and Simi locations are fantastic and have great customer service! I only came here because my medical covers the exam. I would rather pay for my prescription then have it done WRONG- spend $500 on new glasses and then be told they won't fix it for me with a piece of paper that takes 30 seconds to write. No thanks. Bye.

Bought a frame here, supposedly portion of it will be covered by insurance but I end up paying $200 more for the frame which would cost me $150 while this place was giving $350. So not only I didn't save at all, but also paid extra. Such a great deal right? 2. Outdated equipment, I was a bit surprised to see warn off seats in their exam area and overall a bit worn off office. I mean if you overcharge, why don't buy some new furniture? 3. Asked to email me the receipt, lady was nice but was not surprised when I didn't receive anything and also shared that they sold me overpriced frame, she reassured she will talk to doctor, but been weeks and nothing. Again not surprised. Will never go back, there is nothing special and personable about this place, just higher prices and outdated equipment and furniture. I'd rather choose LensCrafters - at least they won't overcharge me

Despite me insisting when I made the appointment that they check that my insurance was actually accepted (and me insisting to check the Insurance name and ID number), they said it wasn't necessary as they already found me in their computer system. However, after the eye exam and when it was time to try on glasses they had me under the wrong insurance (and an insurance I am no longer on). Thus, essentially nothing was covered and I was left without new glasses. Despite my protestations, they chalked this up as "mistakes happen." However, I am a client and a patient whose time and money is just as valuable as theirs. I had to use my precious and valuable sick time to make and keep this appointment and yet I received nothing from it. I have to now take more time off and find a new optometrist and get new lenses/frames elsewhere. This could all have been avoided if they simply listened while making the appointment and checked the insurance information I had wanted to give them. While I appreciate that they gave me my updated prescription, this does not negate the careless regard to checking insurance nor does it negate the disregard afforded to me as a patient. I would highly recommend that if you do make an appointment with this place that you insist that they confirm they have your correct insurance information.
