We sat inside for a few minutes but decided the kids would have more fun with the open and Empty space on the back patio. One of the dads walked the kids out there to give them some room to play. The kids weren't being loud or disruptive at all, just being kids and walking around. While we were at the bar ordering drinks, the bartender said, "the kids can't be alone back there." We let him know a parent was literally with them and we were all going to join them when we got our drinks, but instead of acknowledging that, he watched the security cameras and replied, "We're trying to run a restaurant here." Again, the kids were NOT being bad, not screaming, and not being disruptive. His tone and attitude were shockingly rude. We were stunned. Not once were we spoken to with kindness, understanding, or basic hospitality from this bartender. Instead, it felt like we were an inconvenience from the moment we walked in. We left after only 20 minutes and I'm so glad because upon leaving, I noticed the food looked bad as well. Extremely disappointed all around. Do better, bartender in the corduroy jacket.

Both refreshing and full bodied. The venue had a lot of indoor and outdoor seating which makes for a fun social time for friends and families. The day I stopped in the boxcars which house the eateries at the same location, were closed. Still able to peruse the menus they had posted. They offer many different flavors and types of dishes from Indian, Thai, and all American. I'm heading back on Saturday for lunch when they'll be open for business. I'll update once I've stopped in.

It is suitable for crowds. Of course, the old silos were built for grain storage in the late 40's time frame and now have been turned into a community hub of restaurants, bars, live music, outdoor dining via numerous vendors, fire pits and large screen tv's with even a rail car venue in a very eclectic and hip, urban setting. We were eating at one of the associated restaurants, Inky's, and they allow us to go to Silos Brewing and grab a beer to bring back for the meal. Very cool since Inky's sells draft, but just not this craft Silos draft. I really liked the cooperative and laid back approach by both establishments, including that Silos Brewing let me carry the glass over and not just a plastic cup. They will get it back. My choice was the "Smoke on the Lager" which is, of course, a lager base with smoky hints that went well with my Authentic Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. As their website says, "our backyard is your playground," and I bet on a warm spring or summer evening (rather than a rainy, winter Thursday), this place would be excellent fun. "A place to share stories over a pint, challenge friends to a casual game, or bask in the laid-back vibes of our beer garden." I get that from this establishment and will definitely be back to partake of this hospitality. From what I have seen, despite the less than ideal weather, this is a definite road worthy destination spot even from Greenville or Clemson.
