For the most part it was difficult working with Kathy. I was always the one following up to ask about the next step instead of her telling me what the next step would be. My friend was smart enough to see these issues early on and was smart enough to work with another lender. However, I was far enough along it was too late for me to easily switch. I'm glad I've worked with other lenders buying other houses--I imagine it would be very difficult to work with Kathy as a first time home buyer. She forgot to update me how much money I would need at closing, resulting in me scrambling for thousands of dollars last minute, and resulting in costly unnecessary wire fees. She apologized this and said she would 'absolutely reimburse me' for these fees. It's now been almost 3 months and I haven't heard another word about it from her. She did admit she was busier than she had been in the past and hired an office assistant--maybe that will help her with her future clients. However, I will use another lender for my next purchase in Bend.
