Everything felt thoughtful, comfortable, and inviting, with a level of peace that immediately made the choice feel like the right one. It was well worth the money, and in truth, far beyond what ordinary accommodations usually offer. We rented a condo called Sweet Clover. It was great! Since we stayed in early November, it was thoughtfully decorated for Christmas. It wasn't over done just a few nice touches. We really enjoyed the location, and everything worked as it should. We had a small hiccup, which was handled seamlessly. I've been an Airbnb customer for almost 10 years and never had an experience as bad as this one. We arrived at the cabin around 930pm the first night. The place seemed fine, but when we opened the information binder a cockroach ran out of it. Then when we opened the silverware drawer another cockroach ran across the utensils to the back of the drawer. It stayed still long enough to take a picture then I smashed it. I messaged the host and asked to be contacted asap, no response. While we were out, I was contacted around 11am the next day by the host. I explained the situation and requested to be relocated. The request was denied. When we returned to the cabin the air conditioning had not been working and the temperature was 81 degrees in the cabin. I've been a heating and cooling technician for 40 years and I knew something wasn't right with the ac because it has an extremely loud airflow noise, but barely any air blows from the vents. I checked the ac unit and found it was almost twice the size (a 3 ton ac for 800-1000 sq ft) it should be to work for the ductwork and size of the home. I messaged the host again. When I spoke to the host I explained the ac problem and again requested to be relocated. I was told the only thing available was $300-$400 more. With cockroaches and an ac that didnt work, the host should have moved us there at no extra charge but he refused. I was told I would be refunded for my stay. Once Airbnb got involved, I was told I would only receive a 30% refund. I paid a total of $595 and received only $101 refund, far from the unjust 30%. Airbnb has gone downhill recently while tacking on more fees. Guess it's time to take my business elsewhere. read more

We booked a stay through Freedom Vacation Rentals back in April of 2021 at White Wing Resort in Branson, Missouri. We called to figure out how to make a deposit on June 6th of 2021 and were told over the phone that they no longer manage that resort and they moved us to a new location. 1. We never received a call or email regarding the switch that was made on our behalf, and never received a new contract or invoice. 2. The new location was not close to an outdoor pool as we previously requested. 3. They boasted that they were able to keep our rate the same, and after some research, we found the resort we were moved to was $50 cheaper and we should have had a cheaper rate, not the same rate. 4. After calling our original resort, White Wing, we found that we still had reservations at this location and Freedom Vacation never canceled. Therefore, we were booked at two locations. We aren't sure what kind of sketchy business Freedom Vacation is running, but needless to say, we made sure to cut ties. read more

Our family of four and a newborn drove 6 hours to tablerock lake at Port of kimberling. Upon arrival at 6:30 pm we entered "the beach house" to learn there was no air-conditioning for our four day stay. Really? No one noticed in mid August that there was no a/c? We called and called and spoke to someone who said she would someone call. He did call but could offer no help, no refund nor would he let us move to a vacant unit with a/c. He said if we wanted to cancel, go to the app. When asked we could not move to another unit he said those had people coming the following day. So. We are here now and that would be their problem and he no, and then the line went dead. We slept on our boat. What a scam. read more

We booked the Lighthouse 5B in Kimberling City, MO. It was not as advertised. The hot tub and pool were green. They were supposed to be open through Dec. We called and they said it was closed for the season. The air conditioner front cover was in the floor. It had been held on with duct tape. It smelled musty. There were cigarette butts in a can on the porch. An electrical box of some sort hanging from the building. The "game room" was filled with supplies and a toilet. The "lake front" was actually on the other side of the building. What was supposed to be a propane grill was charcoal. The listing was totally inaccurate and we didn't even end up staying. Now the owner of the property is refusing to give a refund and is very unapologetic for the conditions. I will never use this company for a vacation rental again. read more

This place is a waste of money and is ran down since photos were takin . Trim rotted out on windows, ac Is disgusting also front cover was held on with duct tape , the check in email says no smoking yet there is a coffee can full of cigarette butts and nasty stagnant water. Some sort of electrical box hanging off the exterior wall with wires running into it (on the walk way ) the pool and hot tub were not working( the ad for property says it was closed Jan- Mar. I've called numerous times with the excuse the manager is not available and would call me back, never did . Been trying to get a refund since Dec 10th when our reservation was booked for and they have refused . Found Marvin's number for his realtor business and was very rude who said I would get some sort of refund , now he won't return calls , text, or emails . So I'm out 500 for a 2 night stay at some ran down dump we didn't even stay at . Read the reviews on yelp as well he seems to be rude to everyone that has confronted him with issues. read more

Dirty and gross! The property we stayed at looked great in the photos, but was really dirty and run down when we arrived. Things were broken and overall the place needed a serious deep clean. The towels and linens were stained. The customer service was disappointing and they didn't seem to care about the issues. They sent an email to check on our stay and never even responded to our concerns. While the location was great and the decor was cute our overall experience wasn't great. read more

Please do not use this company-- We were mislead and verbally abused by the owner... he was very inappropriate when we called with an issue. A friend and I booked and paid for a condo with Freedom Vacation Rental through VRBO. My friend was called the day of arrival and told the room was double booked, that the company was refunding us and that the owner (Marvin) already had other comparable accommodations for us. We arrived after a 4 hour drive to our "comparable accommodation" that Freedom Vacation Rentals had for us. The place we arrived was smelly, dirty, and buggy.... and it turned out was not a VRBO property. We called VRBO who told us that because the Freedom Vacation Rental (Marvin) did not contact them at the time of "double booking", there was nothing they could do to help us. We then called Freedom Vacation and spoke to the owner (Marvin) to see if there was any other property available for us to stay. He was vulgar and demeaning... made us feel terrible and offered no help. He told us that maybe we should "be grateful for what we were given or go the f**k home". The conversation went downhill from there. We were lucky enough to find a beautiful hotel nearby that was accommodating and lovely. (Port of Kimberling Marina & Resort- friendly staff, beautiful and affordable rooms). Anyway, the owner of Freedom Vacation Rental (Marvin) was completely unprofessional, unhelpful, and insulting with no provocation. All we wanted was assistance to find another place to stay as it was late and we did not know the area. Instead we were met with hostility and no longer felt safe. Please don't consider booking through this company. I can't imagine my friend and I are the only ones this has happened to... and I want to warn anyone who books through this company... Horrible experience using Freedom Vacation Rentals to book a cabin in Branson, Mo. It all started by being provided the wrong address to the cabin. When arriving we were let in by the housekeeper as she was just finishing. Later in the evening, a second family showed up saying they booked the cabin. After multiple calls, we got through and we're told we were in the wrong cabin. After sorting it all out between the two companies, we were able to stay in the first cabin for the first three nights with the plan of having the original cabin cleaned for us as a new family was coming in on our last night. We never received a phone call and upon our return from the water park all day, the cabin was not cleaned after the original guest. We got in touch with a manager that promised they were scrambling to find house keepers but couldn't give us a time. House keepers ended up coming at 9 pm and after we washed our own bed sheets with four family members leaving the vacation early. Numerous calls, texts and voice mails have gone unanswered or delayed. I highly suggest against using this company for any bookings. read more

We had a good experience with our rental. We didn't receive much communication prior to attending and when we read the reviews we were super concerned. We did finally talk to some one the day before our arrival and got the email with all the information. We did find out that they had the wrong email address. Our stay at Lighthouse was nice and we had a problem with our refrigeration and they sent someone over right away. He fixed it and they even checked in the next day to make sure everything was working ok. read more

PLEASE don't use this company. Bait and switch pros. We paid our money up front for 2 - 3 bedroom 2 bath condos. They contacted us later said the condos were sold. Offered us 3 - 2 bedroom condos. But refused to send us any info. We bought all our show tickets in advance (for 10 people) The day before we were to drive 7 - 1/2 hours to get there we begged for info on how to get in. They said we would be getting 2 condos with 2 bedrooms and 2 pull outs. Would not send pictures until last minute. Said we could take it or get a refund. Unfortunatly we had all show tickets and they knew we would not refund. Said someone would be there should we need anything. Office was locked - no one was on location. Neither condo had pull outs in the living room as told. 2 towels for 5 people. One roll of toilet paper. Stair to the condo was broken and unsafe. We had 2 ladies in their 80's in our group. Where do I start???? I booked through VRBO a specific condo in Branson. I paid in full at booking. One month before my vacation I received an email from the VRBO owner that she sold to Freedom Vacation Rentals and that they would be contacting me with my information upon arrival. Freedom never called or emailed me! I do not like leaving things in limbo so I called this company numerous times and no one could find my reservation. I had to call a manager and he had my information supposedly it just wasn't input into their system since the purchase. So I get an email with the door code and instructions from VRBO right before my trip, I call Freedom vacations they tell me all is good. What do you know I drive 8 hours with my family for a 7 night stay in Branson to show up use the door code and walk in on a family that is staying there. IT WAS DOUBLE BOOKED! I called Freedom and low and behold they cannot find my reservation and I have to e-mail them all of my correspondence. in the parking lot of this condo with my family just waiting! They put me in a cabin on Table Rock Lake and out 15 minutes further out and told me I would not be charged again for my stay since it was already paid for. HA!! they charged my card $1500 and then did not return my calls and I had to file a dispute through my credit card! The place I stayed was great but the hassle of getting their was a NIGHTMARE! Apparently this company is buying up places in Branson but I suggest you find a hotel or other place to stay and not go through Freedom!! read more

I spent a lot of time deciding on a place to rent in Branson and decided we would like to stay at white wing resort. We booked the 2 bedroom condo called. "Cowboy Cabin" and paid over $800 for the four nights. The post on VRBO disappeared and I called VRBO to ask what happened. They said that freedom vacations was managing my reservation themselves. I had to email them and ask twice for the info about where to go and where to check in etc. we were given almost no info. Just an address to go to. When we got there we found out that they had moved us into a completely different condo on an older resort. I asked them what happened to the place I booked and they told me that wasn't an option. I'm still giving them 3 stars because the place we stayed was comparable but I was so mad that they gave me something else and no one called and asked or have me any heads up and we had planned our vacation around being at white wing. Tribesman resort was pretty nice, but did not have the kids playground which is a big reason I made the reservation in the first place. No explanation was given and no compensation or discount or upgrade offered. Not cool.c read more
