It's not trendy, it's not cute, and yes--you're literally hanging out in a basement. But it's got that divey charm that grows on you the longer you stay (or the more you drink). The jukebox slaps, the drinks are poured with love (and no measuring), and everything's within walking distance, so you don't even need to worry about how many shots you had. We came for "one drink" and ended up arguing over pool, slinging darts like pros, and bonding with strangers over random jukebox picks. The vibe is weird--but weirdly perfect. Come for the drinks. Stay for the vibe. Question your life choices on the walk home.

Peckhams is under new ownership this year, and we are loving what we've seen with the changes, so far. It is the same local basement bar atmosphere we love to love [I'm talking decent beer prices ("i pay less for a Wolf Hollow here than AT Wolf Hollw"), sports on TV, a pool table and space to be with your people] but with more UMPH and interest than recent years. I was THRILLED to see a live music scheduled throughout the year and have been excited by other events they've shared on social media, including offering a Turkey Dinner for anyone who may not have family and wanted to come by to eat and celebrate together on Thanksgiving. [and then my heart grew three sizes.] Added bonus: according to their website, Peckhams Place is now able to accommodate parties up to 75 people and they offer catering by Ruggiero's.

There is PLENTY of standing room (and dancing/moshing room :) ) and also a line of auditorium-type seating raised along the back wall near the sound booth. (This raised seating area is great for photo/video taking, IMHO.) The stage is low and close to the crowd, without barricades, which lends to the intimacy. Was concerned about it being too cold in the winter months, but heat was working just fine. There were some coat racks available, too. The bar prices were reasonable, with a nice selection of tap and cans, and seltzers and other options available for the non-beer drinkers among us. Sodas and non-alcoholic options were also on the menu. The staff at the Hangar was pleasant and helpful, through and through and the sound was good throughout all bands. We parked a couple of blocks up the street; parking at the venue is limited, but finding parking in Troy is rarely an issue.

Parking is along the access roads (Ashmore Avenue and Fehr Avenue). The concert we enjoyed tonight was by a Ukrainian group called Dakha Brakha. Wearing strange colorful outfits, playing numerous percussion instruments plus accordions and a cello, they created beautiful harmonies and wild animal sounds. But this is not a review of the concert. Why should you go here? The shows are always FREE!

We did the morning animal feeding and my granddaughter absolutely loved it! We spent a lot of time putting around the beautiful grounds in our golf carts and had a blast feeding the cows, chickens, and ducks with the feed you can purchase at the Pony Barn. We did not eat at June Farms, unfortunately on the evening we were going to, we got torrential down pours which led to flooding.( More on this soon) We did do bingo and had some drinks which was a great time with very tasty drinks! The only negative was not the fault of June Farms, we had a massive rain and thunder storm come through and there were flash flood warnings and lots of flooding happening. We were staying in The Hobbit Hut and it flooded. We got in touch with Michelle and she quickly provided us with different accomodations. As I said, the staff is very friendly and efficient, they really help make staying at June Farms even more enjoyable than it already is. This was a great trip with our granddaughter, but would also be a awesome place for an adult getaway. We look forward to visiting again!

However, the website says to "please check the Calendar to make sure we aren't closed for private events". So we did. The calendar showed it was open to the public 9/25/26 from 11-7. Great. We showed up around 4-4:30 & were puzzled because the bar & pizza area seemed to be closed. We walked into the gift shop to pay for admission, which we did pay for, & decided to walk around the grounds first. There were people setting up the food area so maybe they didn't start serving food until 5? No idea, no one to ask, no one to help us. When we asked the people setting up they also had no idea. Totally not their fault but everyone was confused. We walked around & really enjoyed the entire path of cows, horses, chickens, goats, ducks, pigs, sheeps & even chipmunks along the way. When we returned to the bar & pizza oven, there were a ton of people & seemingly they were up & running!! I went to ask someone if it was a private event & it was. We were not allowed to get food or drinks. We intended on eating & getting some cocktails here & were STARVING. We also had a diabetic in our group with lowering sugar by the minute. The website also states "absolutely no outside food or beverage allowed" but after paying the entry fee for 4 people, we weren't allowed to eat or drink here. Extremely frustrating & inconvenient. I'm glad they were able to get their overhead for the day with their private event AND our money though. Great for them.

The specials were written on a large white board held up on an easel, that the bartener pulled over to our table so we could read it. Lots of good karaoke singers, and we all had a blast.
