This isn't about the park itself, it's about Tremont Pool, the public pool located by the park…read more I went with my friends almost everyday during the summer, everything was great, the prices were a bit extreme and it racked up quickly. However it soon proved to me that it's not even worth the money. The last time I went, I took my 6 year old little brother. Along with my older brother, his girlfriend and her daughter who was 2. A whole mess of things happened, and I was left with the children, which I was okay with, however problems happened with the 2 year old, and I had to get out, leaving my little brother in close eyes view, in the kiddie pool. I turn my back for 2 seconds and he's vanished. From what he said after, he was trying to swim out to our older brother, and started drowning. I saw this and immediately jumped in the 4ft of water, to save my little brother, mind you he was directly in front of 2 lifeguards, who weren't paying any attention what so ever. I did make a comment, a rude one, because this is their job. Yes leaving him unattended wasn't the responsible thing to do, but that is exactly what the lifeguards are there for. I took him out of the water, and got him relaxed, then walked over to tell my brother and his girlfriend what happened, also asking them to go grab the toy that some other family had stole from us, and in the corner of my eye I see the same lifeguards in the corner, laughing at me. This didn't bother me any, but it's the blatant disrespect this pool has shown, especially to a 6 year old. I reported this behavior, and the situation to the manager, who was also extremely careless. He was at least professional, and said he would talk to the lifeguards, but that truly isn't good enough. Being a lifeguard isn't just about spending all summer at the pool, you are there to try and save lives. We need to stop hiring disrespectful, incompetent teenagers.

Great park! Lots to do!…read more We visited this park one afternoon and it was a hot day! The playground structures are large and inviting. There are several different types of activities to do, including a scavenger hunt for little animals all over the play area. There are just a few entrances to the play area so you don't need to worry as much about little ones running off before you can catch them! There is even some shade nearby to spend a few minutes out of the sun on a hot day. The library next door has a bathroom, so you really don't need anything more!

Therefore this park then…read morebecomes the next place that comes up in that conversation where I take my pet besides my dream home, the Prairie Oaks Metro Park of course! Prairie Oaks reminds me of the days when I was a child and would wander free running much like my dog around parks. I truly miss those good ole days but try to relive my childhood through my pet who is much like a little child. This park has over so many acres of land for dirt paths, woods, ponds, etc. What is there not to love about this place? Except why I don't live nearby! I swear if this was much conveniently closer, Bella and I would be visiting this place on a daily basis for walks and play time. There's nothing like being in a metro park with fresh air and beautiful nature surrounding you. I cannot wait to come back here during a nice beautiful day with my husband and dog Bella enjoying what nature has to offer at Prairie Oaks Metro Park.

Many of the Metro Parks, though you can take your furry friend, do not allow pets on many of the trails. And if they do, it's a boring paved trail. Not at Prairie Oaks! This place loves dogs! Pets are allowed on basically every trail- and some are gravel, some are beautiful dirt paths, all through the woods and around the ponds and through the prairies- simply gorgeous!! There is even an off-leash area where your pup can hop in the water and splash around! I've always though this park to be too much of a drive, so I hadn't gone until now. But it's only ten miles outside the West Outerbelt, and only about a mile off the freeway- very convenient, and you feel like you're much farther away from the city than you are. I can't wait to go back. Maybe I'll go today!

This place holds some good memories for me as my grandma used to bring me there when I was a kid. We'd find a table and have ourselves a picnic lunch of Kentucky Fried Chicken. It was and still is a nice place for a picnic, a walk or to simply relax. It's still the same 46 acres of greenery, tall trees, paved walking pathways, along with a cement pond, shelter house and more. It's clean and attractive and it's held up well in it's 90 years. They even picked up that old chicken drumstick I dropped on the ground years ago. I know it's on the west side of Columbus but don't think that I've lost my marbles when I tell you to go there and check this place out. Don't be afraid of the area. The west side is a little shabby these days but it's not unsafe. The Westgate neighborhood though is nice, very nice actually and it shares that same middle class bourgeois lifestyle that Grandview and Clintonville have and this park reflects that. So feel free to take your KFC, bento boxes or maybe some organic chicken wraps and have yourself a picnic there. Like everyone else, I like this place so I'll give Westgate Park 4 stars.

I am also aware of the fact that time and space is a big factor for you guys, but I do hope that you can work around that, especially since activity for all ages is of utmost importance.
