This was such an incredible experience!!! I would absolutely recommend and would gladly go again…read more Jonah was an excellent guide. Luckily it was just myself and one other participant, so it really felt like a private tour. I felt like I had plenty of time to ask questions about which fish we could shoot at and to get a better understanding of how the whole process works. Jonah also did a great job teaching us about breathing techniques and helping us to maximize breath retention in a way that was safe. Once we got in the water it was a total blast. In our case, both I and the other participant were experienced swimmers and comfortable in the water. I have to say I really appreciated that our guide gave us latitude to explore, dive deep, swim through archways underwater, etc. It was the real experience rather than having your hand held the entire time, though if one were to need more assistance I'm sure they'd be glad to give it. This really sparked a passion in me for underwater exploration and spearfishing.

Amazing Shore Dive Experience -- Ask for Joey!…read more We had an amazing shore dive with Joey at Dive Maui! We originally booked the Shark and Turtle Dive, but unfortunately, recent rain had washed out the visibility, so we had to change plans and head to Airport Beach instead. While we were initially disappointed, it turned out to be a fantastic alternative! We still got to see tons of beautiful tropical fish, eels, starfish, and other marine life. What really made the experience exceptional was Joey! He was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, patient, and genuinely passionate about what he does. Safety was clearly his top priority, and he took the time to thoroughly explain everything before getting in the water. Throughout the dive, he was attentive and reassuring, especially when we experienced some challenges with our masks and ear pressure. He never made us feel rushed or uncomfortable and made sure we felt safe and confident the entire time. Even though the original dive didn't work out as planned, Joey went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable experience. It's guides like him who truly make the difference! We highly recommend Dive Maui, and if you're booking a dive, do yourself a favor and ask for Joey! You won't be disappointed. Mahalo, Joey, for helping make our Maui honeymoon that much more special!

She did a thorough introduction before we went out on the water, helped us get on/off our kayaks with ease, and made sure we were all safe while respecting the Hawaiian waters and their majestic creatures. We saw so many whales breach in every direction, heard their songs clearly above water and under water with the paddle trick. Kris also took a few photos of us while we were out there! It can be a little difficult to hear out there on the water, so be sure to speak up and ask your tour guide to repeat if needed. Would have loved to hear more about facts about the whales and Maui in general, and it'd be cool if the tour guides used Hawaiian words like "Huli" which means "flip over". Luckily we didn't huli! Tip: Be sure to hydrate, eat a snack, wear reef safe sunscreen, long sleeves if it looks cold, stretch your hammies, and use the restroom beforehand as they don't offer these during the tour. I wish I brought my hydroflask, but I survived! Also, help out your locals and leave a tip if they meet your expectations! No need to bring cash unless you have a place for it, they'll email you with the photos and their Venmo to optionally tip.

While we didn't see much inside water, that's understandable as it not under control. However The guide didn't seem particularly interested in ensuring everyone had a good experience. To make matters worse, we paid $100 for the photo package, expecting high-quality memories of our adventure. Unfortunately, the photos were terrible--blurry, poorly framed, and far from what you'd expect for the price. It felt like a complete waste of money. I wouldn't recommend the especially given how much they charge. There are better options for snorkeling in Maui--save your money and look elsewhere.

We were able to go to 3 different locations (Molokini crater, the reef in front of Molokini and a turtle cleaning station. I didn't really know what to expect when I booked with Maui Dive Connection, and was extremely surprised when I arrived to find out it was just me and one other person booked to dive that day. But that's how Steve operates. He keeps his groups VERY small! Steve ran me through my refresher and then we got busy exploring the area around Mala pier in Lahaina. Sharks, eels, octopus, schools of fish, coral, and an abundance of turtles were all there! Truly some amazing diving! And as a plus, Steve is taking pictures throughout and emails everything to you afterward.
