The proprietors were really nice and brought us water, fruit, and crackers at perfectly timed moments. Like they could read our minds. It would have been unnerving if they were in a movie like "Scanners", but in this case, it was really nice. They were friendly and talkative, but not intrusive... like friendly background noise, they talked cheerfully to each other about the position of the sails and broat relative to the wind, gladly answering questions when asked but otherwise giving us space to simply relax and enjoy. My kiddo was able to steer for a while and she didn't ground us due to exceptional technology on board and the watchful eye of our captain. She thought it was fun, and added a new statement to her bragging montage. She can now state the following: "I eat Mac and Cheese on the reg... I own every Captain Underpants book... My favorite snacks are from the Philippines... I can pilot any sailboat under 50' in length..." Look, there may be other places to go sailing in Orange Beach, but why take chances? You'll enjoy these folks... go give it a try. We will, every time we visit from here on out.

While loading into the car to head to the cruise, I fell off the curb and broke my ankle. I am a nurse and immediately could tell it was broken. While waiting on the ground for the ambulance to arrive, I called Matt to explain the situation and let him know we obviously wouldn't be making it. This morning I reached out to him and sent pictures of my xray and asked if we could be refunded ($460 is what we paid). Matt told me it was not "fair for him to loose out on the money" so he would not refund us. I again asked for at least a partial refund and he offered a $150 credit towards if we book with him in the future. Obviously we will not ever use him again. We are going to likely be out 1,000s of dollars on medical bills and an impending surgery and the right thing for him to do would be to offer a refund or at least a partial refund to a repeat customer since this was a freak accident I had no control over. Very disappointed.

Make sure to mention to her though if you're celebrating a special occasion (birthday, anniversary) because she will definitely make it even more special for you. I mean, have you ever had a fishing charter provide you with a birthday cake? Personally, I'm not super into fishing but my husband is and I still had an amazing time. After fishing, he took us to the Florabama where we were able to actually get in the water and also have some drinks and food. Blue Water Charters is your one stop shop for accommodation/ dining recommendations while you're in town. Plus it really is such a great day out on the boat. I'll never book with anyone else while I'm in the area.

I discovered it because of a friend who likes to take long nature walks alone and is a nature buff. It's a walking and hiking park located at the base of the big blue water tower at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex, with the entrance at the northeast corner behind the sportsplex, that provides a convenient and accessible location. It's open to the public for daytime for locals and tourists. The park features a loop gravel path that encircles a small tranquil fishing pond, making it a nice destination for those who love to cast a line and try their luck at catching local fish species. Along the path, you'll find benches, but not in the greatest condition, gazebos, and a fishing pier, providing ample spots to relax, take in the scenery, and appreciate the natural beauty of the wetlands. One of the key highlights of Wetlands Park is its connection to the Alabama Coastal Birding Trail, making it a prime location for birdwatching enthusiasts to observe both migrating and local bird species. There's elevated boardwalks allowing you to traverse the wetlands without disturbing the ecosystem, with lovely views of the wetlands and the diverse wildlife that calls it home. We walked through the park yesterday because my friend and I have a real appreciation for reptiles and she's told me about both snakes and alligators that's she seen here over the years taking long walks here. We weren't disappointed as we approached one of the smaller ponds, with a fishing pier, we spotted a juvenile gator that seemed as anxious to see us as we were to see him, or her. It was only 2-3 feet long and swam all the way across the pond to check us out, it was cool and we enjoyed the visit :-) Also, Wade Ward Nature Park, a nearby extension of the Wetlands Park, features a boardwalk trail that further explores the wetlands ecosystem and connects Little Lagoon with Lake Shelby. This area is home to various wildlife, including otters, pelicans, and the occasional alligator, providing a fascinating glimpse into the rich biodiversity. Overall, Wetlands Park in Gulf Shores is an nice destination for nature lovers, birdwatchers, and those looking to experience the beauty and tranquility of the coastal wetlands. With its well-maintained trails, abundant wildlife, and scenic views, it offers a memorable and educational experience for visitors of all ages.
