We carpooled to the location and arrived early, which was a surprise as traffic coming from the north of Seattle had been clear. The parking lot was large and partially full, but we still found a space without having to circle for a spot to open up. We explored a little bit of the nearby Seeley Lake Park while waiting since we had arrived early. Facilities we used for our activities were nice. Re-visiting yesterday Wednesday 2 August 2023, the parking lot was still large and the building approximately the same on the exterior.

My daughter has taken some classes here so my review is based on our experiences coming here…read more The facility has staff at the door to get you to the right place or take your payment. There is a day use fee but they offer punch cards for regular use. The gym is huge. Has upper seating area. It is 3 basketball courts they place baby gates between for multiple classes. Jazzercise is going on at one end while my daughter has volleyball at the other end. The coach struggles to talk over the music of that other class. It is carpeted as well. They have lots of kid classes available here. And there are some classroom areas, so things like Tai Chi can happen in a less loud environment, but it's not perfect. There is a walking track around the gym upstairs but it costs to walk ....$3. I like this place b/c they offer classes my kids want to try. Younger kids have plenty of sports leagues to enjoy. They have a gym and you can get a good workout here without joining a gym elsewhere. It's nice when the community center is clean and offers a lot. We enjoy utilizing this place. They do not charge extra for non city residents like most of the cities around here.

There's plenty of open space for the kids to run wild, for the adults to deploy their dancing skills and to relax on a Tuesday night with your chosen group. They don't allow you to bring beer or wine which likely keeps people under control, but, removes a certain sophistication from some meals with friends as we try to one up each others culinary whimsy for picnic dinners. I must say that a glass of wine can really up the taste of my food. Highly recommend going at least once this summer for the people watching, the competitive food selections spread out on our blankets and the joy of being outdoors on these gorgeous summer nights.

First visit here was to vote for 2024…read more What a first class experience - the line was long, but moved rather swiftly. The workers doing their duty for this country were educated, prepared, friendly, and professional. I'd vote here everytime for till 3000 :) because of them. Cool story, my co-worker and pod mate recently became a citizen. I think she was intimidated by the registration process as online there were some hiccups for her. After going to vote for myself, I pinged her and let her know while standing in line, they have workers helping those who haven't registered yet. I told her how great everyone was, how fast the line moved, and how easy peezy it all was. I had been trying all week to get her to vote, and after my experience at Crossroads Community Center, she did it!

This review is solely for the outdoor spaces of this Community Center, especially the tennis…read morecourts. My companion and I had driven to 3 parks in the evening, a week or two ago, looking for a tennis court. The tennis courts were full at every one of the 3 parks that we drove to! It was about to get dark soon, so we thought that it might get dark if we tried to wait for a court at one of the parks. So, we drove here as our last try to find an open outdoor public tennis court that evening. Thankfully both tennis courts were open here when we arrived! As you can see on the ground around me, the tennis courts had quite a bit of tree debris on them (mostly twigs and pine cones). However, we were able to play tennis here for about an hour and the pine cones and twigs didn't really interfere with our play, so 5 stars from me! The second tennis court was occupied by 2 other tennis players shortly after our arrival. They were very considerate and threw the stray ball back to us when it landed in their area, and we did the same for them. The parking lot is smallish, but it was sufficient for our needs and it was only about half full. The winding path to get to the tennis courts was a lovely place for a short stroll, with tall trees surrounding the path. There is a kids play area near the tennis courts. Kids seemed happy about playing there on the evening of our visit. There is also a 4-hoop basketball court adjacent to the tennis courts. It was full for most of the time that we were playing tennis. I liked the high fences around this space, so we didn't have to worry about a basketball getting in the way of our tennis play. It's been years since I last played tennis. I played tennis a lot growing up, mostly with my Mom, who is extremely competitive. I'm not super competitive myself, I prefer to be collaborative in most cases, but I was delighted that my companion and I each won 5 of our 10 games, because I do like doing physical activities with people of similar skill levels. Super nice and peaceful area, and a great place to play tennis. We may return!
