There is no law against roosters, a creature known for aggressive behavior and making excessive noise. For three years I have been asking the city to do something. Every night I am woken up, sometimes as early as 2:30 am. When I say every night, I mean every night, including Christmas. After visiting the code complaint office several times and opening two seperate cases, finally some action was taken. Unfortunately, it took several months and speaking in front of the city council until there was any results. Still, I am woken up in the middle of every night. The animal hoarding situation next door went from a ridiculous 30+ birds to the code compliant 4, one still being a rooster. The city says since the neighbors are now code complaint they are done. Now they don't even return my emails. The city of Seatac seems to strongly oppose any change, even something as common sense as simple legislation against roosters. Every other city and town in the tri-county area has a law in effect but Seatac. Do yourself a favor and don't move here. The city is more concerned with creating watch lists for Islamic residents than addressing any of your concerns. At one time my mail was stolen and I had to wait 8 hours for a cop who basically said I should have had a locking mailbox. I am currently saving up to move out of this noisy disappointment of a neighborhood.

It's very much like a small city but very relaxing. There are local shops and malls. Air is very clean. It's a very nice suburb. If you compare to Other city, Puyallup is much better because it has something uniqueness to it. The name Puyallup is from the name of a First Nation band.

What I find very interesting about Puyallup is downtown and then South Hill. South Hill is filled with malls, shopping galore and housing developments all living with ginormous Douglas Fir Trees. The way I would describe South Hill would be very contemporary and modern that anyone in the fast life would enjoy. On the other hand, downtown is a completely different story! Strolling downtown the feel is extremely different. It feels like a small town down there with shops still lining the streets like they did a hundred years ago, farms, cute homes, no "cookie-cutter" ones that are being built, and is an adorable area. It's awesome to have the best of both worlds! PROS: 1) The Sounder train that runs through downtown that commutes workers to and from Seattle everyday which is extremely convenient. 2) The school district is AMAZING! All the schools are clean, teachers and administrators are kind and generally want the best in kids. The schools are gorgeous and some of them (such as Meeker Elementary) are a hundred years old yet still keep some of the originals' roots such as the hardwood floors original used in classrooms. 3) Overall, it's an incredible place to raise a family. You can feel safe letting your teens roam around. There's also a lot of teen and tween safe places (ie: Elements Frozen Yogurt, Puyallup Public Library, Anthem Coffee and Tea). 4) There is some nightlife! There are bars and some great places for some adult-time! 5) There's amazing hole-in-the-wall restaurants like Trackside Pizza, Crockett's, among others. 6) The Washington State Fair brings visitors from all over the country to Puyallup and it's just an amazing time! The list is infinite. I just don't have hours to write them all....lol :) CONS: 1) Meridean is poorly constructed. Traffic is a big, fat, pain in the booty! It needs to be widened or something because this isn't working. 2) Puyallup is a growing city, and with a flourishing city comes crime, and I cannot honesty say it isn't on a rise. Of course, this isn't at an alarming rate, but it is there. Puyallup is astounding. I've fallen in love with this suburb, and I don't think I will ever be able to leave :)

In her Tik Tok she demonstrated that cops believe they are above the law. In a way this is true because of qualified immunity, but that's another topic. She informed the public that police can and do 'find' reasons to pull people over. All they have to do is follow someone long enough. This could intimidate the person they're following, making them nervous and increasing the chances they commit a minor traffic violation. Then what? Call in dogs because you 'suspect' drugs? Violate their 4th amendment rights by searching their car? Beat, arrest and trump up charges because they offended your ego? I believe this is how it works. Officer Straus' comments and countless videos on YouTube provide enough evidence that this is the case more often than not.

There is a good amount of room for a small wedding party and a kitchen area for any prep or catering work to be done. The wedding party had 6 large tables which fit comfortably in the hall with enough space for dancing and a buffet table off to the side. If you are here for a wedding they will reserve parking spots (Mainly street/parallel parking) for attendees so that you are able to park in peace!

We were married here on June 20th and we could not have imagined having it anywhere else since 2 aunts, my sister and my best friend have all used this venue for there wedding. It is a beautiful building itself on the outside, and the inside is just as beautiful with its huge windows and beautiful views of the water. I loved the look of the old dark wood floors. Heidi was our attendant that day and she provided service that was above and beyond what she was suppose to do. She assisted in the setting up and cleaning of our wedding which we did not expect at all. She was extremely helpful and we knew we could count on her. This venue has a complete kitchen with stoves, oven, microwaves, 2 refrigerator and a lot of room for any type of food prep you might need to do. I was told my the town of steilacoom that we could only have 150 people and music needed to cease by 10:00pm. It also can be a little spendy at $100.00 a hour, but compared to many other venues, it is pretty reasonable. I must say this is a great location to use if you want beautiful wedding photography because the venue itself and surrounding areas has so many opportunities for great shots.

Meanwhile, staff closely monitor parents and children who are simply browsing (security included) while large groups of kids run around causing chaos. Attending events here used to be enjoyable, but that's no longer the case. When regular patrons start leaving because of the disorder, it's something that should be taken seriously.

Steilacoom is the oldest incorporated town in Washington. A lot has changed since 1854, but I like Steilacoom because it is very old and the citizens do quite a bit to preserve the aesthetic as well as the culture of the olden days. I've used Steilacoom to ride the ferry to Anderson Island which is a small and nice get away and a close enough ferry rather than driving to Point Defiance or Seattle to get on a ferry. You can also catch the ferry to Ketron Island and I'm not quite sure if they actually still do regular ferry runs to McNeil Island now that the prison is closed and only violent sexual offenders are housed there now. One other thing I like about Steilacoom are the views. If you stand at the edge of town either at the ferry dock or at the little pavilion/park they have up on the hill behind the tennis courts you can get a magnificent view of the bay and may even be able to see the Narrows Bridge from where you stand. I think if I had real estate in Steilacoom, it would just be worth it for the views as well as the access to the beach. I usually drive through Steilacoom as a way to forego getting on I-5 when there is traffic and I just don't feel like dealing with it. This actually happens a lot since we all know about the I-5 traffic. One last thing that helped me fall more in love with Steilacoom was attending their annual Apple Squeeze. I thought it was really cool to see old-fashioned apple cider presses being used to make your own apple cider by hand. It really allowed you to see what it felt like to make juice the way possibly the pioneers did as well as see some of the old-fashioned machinery. Check out the historical society if you visit or take a ferry ride or just take in the views. You won't be disappointed.

Nobody there seems to know exactly what the schedule is or what's supposed to be happening.

They have a nice neat library. They have a nice wall of used books for sale. I go there almost once…read morea week. The only problem I've had is if I ask to break a $10 bill to pay for some books they just say no. They don't even try and find some ones among the 10 or so employees. And they don't look busy. (This seems to be the policy at these libraries.) Are they afraid my money might be fake? Not sure.

This library is great, is rather small but has a wonderful selection of books, magazines, movies…read moreand games. They feature a bunch of activities during the month. Like story times, tech help, job club, teen gaming, family game night etc. I totally recommend this library for resources. I gave a minus star because there were plentt of kiddos crying when we visit, so it is hard to enjoy a quiet moment there reading. They do have study rooms and conference rooms but if you need to use their computer then you better bring earphones.
