I learned first-hand what apico means --twice!…read more After several novacaines, I endured forty-five minutes of cutting my gums, drilling, vibrations, picking-and-poking, pulling-and-tugging, and sewing me up on each of two teeth. As I write this review, it sounds frightening, even to me. But then what explains why I fell asleep during the second procedure? It's simple -- Dr Timothy Gabe, and his friendly and compassionate, professional and competent team worked seamlessly together to make sure that I was always comfortable. From my first visit to my last, it has been an extraordinarily rewarding experience. I hope no one else needs an apico, but if you do, I enthusiastically recommend Dr Gabe to you.

My first visit with Dr. Gabe went well. I had gotten crowns on 2 teeth and was still having pain…read more I was referred to Dr. Gabe by the dentist who did my crowns. Dr. Gabe, told me it was a muscle spasm. We agreed to meet for a second time to see how the tooth was feeling. Unfortunately, my second appointment do not go so well. I was left in the waiting area for 40 minutes after my scheduled appointment. I finally went to the desk to ask what was happening and expressed my displeasure, I wasn't rude, I was not disrespectful, I didn't raise my voice. I was disappointed and frustrated. I'm sure the frustration came across in my tone but absolutely not disrespectful. There is no way I'm letting this be put on me or turned around. If I was kept in the loop-a simple we are sorry but Dr. Gabe had an emergency or what ever the situation, I feel like that would have made all the difference. I could have made a decision earlier, to stay or reschedule-had I been informed on what was going on. Maybe the office can take a look at why this whole situation happened. I'm not retired, I do not have a lot of leisure time. When I go for an appointment I have to take time off from work-I do not get paid for that- and I need to get back to do my work as soon as I possible can. By the time I left the office it was just before 4:00(45 minutes). To have a 3:15 Appointment and sit in the waiting area until 3:53 is a long time without an update. While waiting, I had a conversation with a person in the waiting area. That person had an appointment with Dr. Gabe and his appointment was the same time as mine-3:15. When they called him before me, I thought this is not good.. At that time it was about 3:30ish. In addition, I'm not sure if Dr. Gabe is aware, I had called the office the day of the appointment-a couple hours before my appointment, to ask if I could change the appointment. I was told they change it but I would be charged, that was a bit confusing since I already paid and this was a a quick follow-up maybe that's why two people were scheduled at 3:15 - my reply was oh no I'll be there, interesting.. This also played into my frustration. After all this: I had a new appointment scheduled because of the situation mentioned above-I received a phone call a couple of days before that appointment from Dr. Gabe's office-I was told Dr. Gabe cancelled my appointment, he said the pain was a muscle spasm-without seeing me. I told the person, who called me to cancel my appointment, that this appointment was a follow up and my tooth was hurting. I never heard back. (Doesn't a dentist take an oath) I was surprised I didn't hear back-In the meantime, I went to an appointment with the Dr. who referred me to Dr. Gabe I was told that Dr. Gabe did not call me back because there was an incident?? What? What incident? What does that mean? To hear that was upsetting to say the least.. I called Dr. Gabe to see what was going on, to ask about my hurting tooth and the so called "incident." He never called me back. I find that to be unprofessional and discourteous. Dr. Gabe, could have called me to discuss whatever this is about. Instead, it was discussed with someone other than myself and my appointment was cancelled, my calls were not returned, after I had paid for a service, it does not feel good to be shut down like this. The deflection and arrogance is unbelievable.. I do not usually do reviews however, I think it was important to put this out there. I'm almost certain, if I showed up for an appointment 40 plus late I wouldn't have been seen and I would have been charged for the appointment. We as patients need to speak up in situations like this. When its the other way around, the practice speaks up. Dentist work hard and I appreciate that. Patients work hard and pay for the expensive prices for dentist services.

Tremendously great experience with Dr. Brian Chuang and the entire staff at Reading Endodontics…read more I had seen my dentist on a Friday morning about a tooth that was bothering and he suggested a specialist could get more insight. It didn't seem urgent then but in the evening, after eating something cold, the tooth got much worse. Of course, by then everything was closed but I emailed Reading Endodontics, which my wife had used before, and waited patiently until Monday 8am to talk to them. No need: Monday 8:03am I had a voicemail from Carol at Reading Endo: she had read my email, understood my problem and if I could get there right away they'd be able to take me. By 9am I was on the dentist chair getting X-rays. There's some real professionalism and responsibility and I felt 100% certain I'd made the right choice. Dr Chuang was very thorough, took about an hour and a half to do the work, explained the problem and what the next steps were. His assistant Anne was great, distracting me during the most difficult part which was injecting the anesthetic. The following day Carol called to check up on me! This was really the best possible outcome. Definitely plan on living to 120 without needing a root canal but, if that doesn't pan out, Reading Endodontics, Dr Brian Chuang and the staff there are the next best choice. I'm very grateful for the exceptional service I got there, from the very initial contact to the follow-up.

Then when she needed another implant, this time her regular dentist chose to do it (he supposedly went back to school to learn how), and he did a totally hack job and put her through so much horrible pain - it was a nightmare! I was furious to hear what had happened. Later I asked her dentist who put in the first implant b/c it was flawless and painless procedure. I got Dr. Shieh's name, and we never went back to her previous dentist, since. He's fantastic! He knows his stuff, and when I visited Boston (I'm from out of state), I had him do some dental work on me as well, and he was the best! Gentle Dental has made this easier for me and my son. The first appointment was a free consult. The process of how braces work was fully explained to us. They reviewed the payment options and lastly they talked to my son on how to take care of his new braces. The office staff has always welcomed us with professionalism. They accommodate us when scheduling the required monthly appointments. They are very patient with not just us but with every client I have seen in the office. The office is clean and the atmosphere is calm. The office staff does not seen to be rattled by the sometimes large number of clients that seem to appear out of nowhere. The staff give each client individual attention and assure them that they will be taken care. The dentist are also concerned with the needs of the patients. They do not rush the patients. They treat each patient individually. I recalled when the dentist approached me talk my son's specific needs and gave me clear instructions. If the dentist saw something that was concerning, he did not hesitate to communicate it to me. All the workers there seemed to enjoy my jokes. Always remember the following. "Laughter is the best medicine". Since I'm old with poor hearing, the following is very important. Speak with slightly raised volume. Speak slower and keep your sentences short and easy to comprehend. These things will be a big help in communicating important details to the patient. Roy Glenn
