The doctors and nurses here are great, but their front desk is awful. Their website says their office house are from 8:30am-5pm. Their automatic phone message says their office hours are from 8:30am-4:30pm BUT do not expect them to answer the phone after 4pm because they just cannot be bothered (not a one-time occurrence). read more

You have one chance to make a first impression, especially when you're a doctors office. These guys blew it. Their Facebook page and website advertise that 'you can chat online with us through our website', but when I attempted to do so (several times throughout the course of a day ) no one responded. This lack of customer service made me decide to choose another dermatology office. read more

My experience started out well here. Dr. Moe was helping me with my rosacea and then she showed me how Botox could help with some of my age lines. But then each visit turned into a sales pitch and I felt like I wasn't being heard anymore. Fillers and lasers aren't important to me! I don't think I can go back anymore because if I'm veiewed as just a 'sale' to them and the business, do they really want what's best for me and my skin? Again, things started out well, so I cannot in good faith say that I would never recommend them, but my recent experience has left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Frederick Dermatology is the only company I trust with dermatology needs for my family, which includes three children. Each time I've gone, I've not only been greeted with kindness at the front desk but the office is always very clean (which is a HUGE deal) but most importantly the Doctors take their time with their patients. I like to ask questions, lots of questions...after all, this is the health of my family. Dr. Moe and Dr. Hogan have never made me feel rushed or foolish for asking questions. I have never in my life written a bad review about a business. Ever. But after the service I received from Frederick Dermatology, I feel a public service obligation. This is an AWFUL place to do business with. After PREPAYING thousands of dollars for Dermapen, Hydrafacial and M22 laser treatments, I had to cancel 2 of my 10 appointments. Both times I called THE DAY BEFORE. I received a bill in the mail for $100 for a "no call/no show". I called them thinking it was a mistake (since I DID call) and spoke with the office manager. She informed me that she had to charge me the $100 because I cancelled my appointment (my reason was very legitimate). I explained to her that I called the day before and cancelled. She told me that Dr. Kathleen Moe insisted that the $100 had to be charged. I explained to her that I have prepaid $3,000 for services at her office. She said she still had to charge me. I couldn't believe my ears. So I told her to please cancel all of my future appointments and refund me for the services I prepaid. She didn't even try to talk me out of it. She just said "okay". All this because I cancelled an appointment THE DAY BEFORE? For a doctor to charge you $100 and lose over $3000 (plus whatever future appointments I would have scheduled and people I would have referred considering I'm a Spa Director at an exclusive golf resort) shows me that this doctor is not very bright. She is nothing short of egotistical and arrogant. I find it hard to believe that a doctors office can be so inflexible. Dr. Moe also rushes you through appointments. She spends very little time with her patients. No thanks! I'll find another doctor who cares more about their patients well being than the almighty dollar. Again, I have never been one to publicize dissatisfaction in public, but this has left me speechless. Do yourself a favor and don't use this office for your Dermatology needs. read more

Friendly and very nice place and the doctor was very nice. However, I had to wait 45 minutes and never told me why I was waiting for so long. Kind of unprofessional. They also took my co-pay before anything else, like that was the most important thing. They could have gotten a better rating if they did some of the common sense caring things. read more

Having been a past client, I made an appointment. to see Dr. Hogan about some growths/possible skin cancer that I am very concerned about. I was asked on the phone if I still had Tricare, which I do, and that was it. When I came to my appointment 10 minutes early, I was told that I didn't have a financial statement in my file. I was presented with a sheet of paper that I was asked to fill in with a credit card number, expiration date and signature. When I told the receptionist that I didn't own a credit card, she went and had the 'business manager' greet me and asked me if I could leave them a blank check for any co-insurance that may come up. I refused and they refused to see me. The office refused to treat me and honor my appointment because I did not own a credit card and wouldn't leave them a blank check. They are in-network providers and have accepted the insurance payment contractually. I should not have to leave them a credit card or blank check because they choose not to have a 'billing department'. Obviously, they have some sort of billing department as they must communicate with the insurance companies. They claim to be 'eco-friendly' on their website but its all a sham - they only care about getting a hold of money. With all the identity theft these days, I'm amazed that they would even ask. Dr. Hogan's office let me down when I needed them the most. Don't let this happen to you. Go to someone else. read more

I highly recommend Frederick Dermatology. From the very first contact with the practice, they have been nothing but professional and customer focused. I find the entire staff to be warm and friendly. I particularly recommend the Center for Aesthetic Medicine here. I have received various non-invasive cosmetic procedures there. Eileen is friendly and puts you at ease in the reception area. Dr. Moe is wonderful, capable and extremely experienced. Trish has been my favorite Aesthetician, has taken very good care of me, and has improved my overall skin health and appearance. Yes, cosmetic dermatology procedures can be expensive, but they will work with you here, to observe procedures and obtain discounts during certain promotional events. They will help you to understand which products and procedures will be the best investment for you specifically. You are not just a 'number' here. You will not be rushed through, just so they can move on to the next patient. Do your own research on procedures and medications. You can often find manufacturers coupons on their web sites. Do your part to be informed, so you can ask the necessary questions during your appointments. read more

I found the medical providers to be quite friendly and capable. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the support staff and their billing practices. The support staff (desk personnel) all seem to have an attitude problem. I even heard a staff member tell another staff member to make sure a credit card given by an African-American woman was activated. I do believe the comment was meant to be endearing. Maybe it is time to consider another office for treatment and I urge other patients to consider these practices when seeking a provider. Their website: http://frederickdermatology.com does not list an office manager, to which these concerns could be addressed. Additionally, their practice is to keep a credit card on file for payment. The credit card is charged without warning and it is up to the patient to reconcile charges, for which they are not made aware. I would be perfectly fine paying for my visit at checkout, but giving my credit card to be charged at their discretion is very questionable. read more
