OK, I admit, Freddy's Kitchen doesn't sound like a Mexican restaurant. But I did a drive-by and was impressed by the size of the building, originally a Shari's Restaurant. I also thought the prices were higher than average, gauging from the online menu. So I had to find out why there were so many cars parked out front. I noticed on the way in, a separate bar area on my right, but I sat in the main front dining room. Much of the original furniture from Shari's was quite worn and still being used. I chose to sit on a metal chair at a table--not great, but adequate. I ordered two enchiladas, a chili relleno, rice, and beans. It came with chips and salsa. Adding a beer to that meal, the total was $22. But the amount of food was way more than I could eat. (See the picture). The food was delicious and worth the price! The salsa was mild and rich in flavor. The chips were warm and crispy. A serving of Curtido (shredded cabbage, carrot, and bell pepper in a vinaigrette) was an unexpected and appreciated side garnish. As well, another garnish of tomato, bell pepper, and jalapeño was on the other side of the plate. The chicken enchilada in Verde sauce was covered with a light Mexican cheese. The pairing was delicious. The cheese enchilada did not appear to have onion in it, and the red sauce was way too thin, otherwise the flavors would've been well balanced. The chili relleno was huge, full of cheese and wrapped in egg. The Anaheim pepper as fresh tasting and full flavored. It was my favorite item. As I said, I couldn't eat the whole meal. I took half home to my wife. (See the to-go tray). She raved and said it was even better the next day. I recognized my waiter from when I lived here 15 years ago. He had worked several other restaurants, but chose Freddy's. We laughed, having both ended up here. If Freddy's Kitchen can upgrade the furniture and decor, this restaurant will become one of the mainliners--the food is that good! ---- read more

Walking in the ambience was nice although it was hot seems like the AC was barely working. Service was terrible as the waiter acted as if we were bothering him. He never checked on us nor refilled drinks. I had to wait for him to come back and ask about boxes at that time I told him about the food. He said nothing. Now the food was disappointing at best. The chips rated old and the salsa tasted like tomato sauce from a can with some beans and an onions. My wife and I ordered the pork tamales. They were awful. They took some cooked pork shoved it on top of masa then put it in the boiler. No sauce nothing. The masa was very very dry and crumbled apart. The meat was hard dry and gross. The beans were cold but also had chunks of uncooked beans. The rice had no taste. Hard to believe this place has this many great reviews. Save your money I would not waste my time or my money here. read more

It started with a male worker telling us to wait to be seated because I was peaking around a corner to see what type of seating they had. I was really looking forward to trying out their Chili Rellenos. Boy, what a let down. I had to use a knife to cut it? Inside were chunks of some type of cheese? Normally, it is a melted cheese. Ick. The food was mediocre at best. I ordered the shrimp tacos but the server mixed up the order and brought me fish tacos. My wife had the shrimp tacos and they weren't bad. The guacamole was not great and the salsa tasted more like tomato sauce than salsa. The margaritas tasted like they were made from a cheap mixer. I won't be going back. read more

Ok so I was told about this place and was told it was a good spot to eat. Right off from the Jump I didn't like that they weren't serving alcohol due to license not being approved yet lol so that sucked. Jumping right into the food, I ordered the Chile Relleno y " dos flautas de pollo" now I'm saying that with parentheses because that's what I thought I was getting. The Chile relleno was good, cheese inside was actual queso fresco but was not that spicy which is a hit or miss with those type of chiles. Now the sauce on top I did not like, it was more of a tomato sauce I would rather have salsa on top. The "flautas" was actually ONE cut in half lol and was decent but not great. Try the pollo asado. It is smoky, grilled, and delicious. The molcajete salsa it comes with should be the main salsa they serve. Spicy, earthy, rich. Not the same Freddy's as it used to be. Customer Service is inconsistent now that their restaurant has expanded from the "old"Freddys. Also, food has also become inconsistent. I ordered the fajita's and this is the first time I had fajita's and it did not come out sizzling. Have to remember to order Quesabirria's extra crispy otherwise they come out a little soggy. Only reason not giving it 5 starts is because they have kids meals but no kids size drinks. My son had an accident and spilled his drink the cup was way to big for him to grab. Almost don't want to recommend it others because sometimes they run out and I want it all to myself! Ribeye tacos are a close second. I ate here yesterday. To me the food was just average. The complimentary salsa that they place on the table with your chips was really not good. Not your typical salsa, you could tell that it was made from nothing but the dried chiles and it also had a slightly bitter aftertaste. The waitress was very polite and attentive, service was good and the wait for the food was rather fast. The quality of the food was just average, nothing to write home about. My party ordered the quesabirria tacos and the quesatorta which were both good. The rice and beans really did not have much flavor. The salsa cups that were placed on the plates of our entrees also was not good. It was so hot that we could not eat it and it was bitter. We are Mexicans we know good Mexican food when we eat it. This place was just mediocre. Nothing special about the place or the menu really. If you are looking for a less busy place than the other local Mexican restaurants, this is it. 7PM on Saturday we sat down right away with a larger group. The chips and salsa were tasty, nicely salted, with beans in the salsa. I highly recommend the quesabirria combo. Music was upbeat and gets the food down! The new Freddy's Kitchen in e Wenatchee is the worst restaurant I ever went to . The heat wasn't on and we all were freezing, the chairs were made of bare metal, the fountain drinks were out of order,the food was served Luke warm, and the food wasn't good at all, and server never came back after we were served.
