It was on the smaller side of Safeway stores, but clean and organized throughout. We stopped here on Sunday afternoon, St. Patrick's Day to get a sweet treat. The bakery section was underwhelming to say the least. They only had 3 or 4 containers of sugar cookies with key lime icing, one container of pistachio pound cake slices, and one decent looking slice of a layered cake with the holiday theme and I was interested in the latter, BUT the top wasn't shut and securely sealed to the bottom. So yeah, no one wants that. The only employee present in the store eventually showed up to the only lit register for us to purchase what we settled for, which was a small container of assorted cookies and a pint of ice cream. On the plus side, the Safeway gentleman was a decent fellow and friendly enough.

We had about a 15 minute drive to the house & we called ahead to get the oven turned on so we could reheat the chips and water boiling. Otherwise, we got all the main dishes out and went to work on the deck. This is well prepared good food that is best eaten outside on big table covered with newspaper. Added cold beer, corn on the cob, lots of hot sauce, ketchup for the chips, and some cheese cake from a farmers market for desert. It was a perfect summer meal on a perfect summer day with the sound of waves breaking on the beach about 300 feet away. If you go to this part of the Oregon coast you should try South Beach Grocery. The young woman at the counter was patient with our questions and the folks at the cooking stations were fast and capable with seafood that is not easy to cook but easy to mess up. There was no messing up at this roadhouse. They know what they are doing. Go here, eat here, and then go back and eat some more the next day. We did but two days later.
