I'm no stranger to Fred Meyer, but usually I'm in the Portland area so I checked the yelp page first to see how late this particular store was open. 11:00 pm, ok. We walked in at 9:40 pm. Almost immediately we were greeted by a countdown on the intercom that they were closing in 20 minutes and all shoppers needed to come to the front with their items. Ok? Again 5 minutes later and again in 5 more minutes...Hmmm. So apparently the Yelp page is wrong on their hours or what? Also not appreciated to be rushed out of the store. We are new to the area and have recently discovered Fred Myers. This is the place for many of our needs. They have a wonderful produce section and also a full service deli. They also have a clothing department upstairs which has more than I expected. I plan to shop here often as it appears to be the only real choice for us here in Brookings. read more

I liked it because it was different from the stuff in used too in California, walmarts and super walmarts, the fact that full service gas stations exist and there's a star bucks inside. The staff was friendly and I caught a few Pokemon while I was shopping. read more

The store has a good selection, typical of all Fred Meyer stores. The store is easy to navigate. The employees shopping for on line orders were real rude and forced other shoppers out of the way. While this store has "everything" it's nothing like Trader Joe's, the produce is i\iffy in freshness, some of the prices are crazy. But they are the only choice. The deli is the worst deli I have ever went to in my life. Some of the staff get pissed if you want them to slice the meat fresh rather than use the preside stuff they have in the case. No quality cold cuts like Boars Head or Dietz, Salads are inconsistant. But, if you don't need to interact with the staff they do have a large selection and they are the only game in town. read more

A one stop shopping experience and great to have for this small coastal community. You'll get everything you need for groceries. They offer a small organic area that could certainly be expanded on. Although the Deli and Bakery has excellent presentation on their items...the Deli and Bakery customer service leaves something to be desired! You could literally be standing in front of either counters in view sight with a few (like 2-3) others waiting to be helped and rarely be acknowledged by the staff. Even a simple, "I'll be with you in a few moments" or just a "hello" would be assurance they are aware or care you are in line to be helped. Worst yet...you could be the only one standing waiting to be helped and Deli crew will pass by your face many times as if they don't see you and yet they do see you! I've literally been known to stand waiting for someone to help me for 15 minutes when I am the "only customer" at the counter and they pretend you are not there. It happens more often than not. Extremely offensive, annoying and lacks prompt customer service. I was teetering on a 4 star rating just because of customer service in these two departments. Aside from the customer service experience in Deli and Bakery, the home goods department, electronic, toy department is decent and is adequate for small town shopping. Clothing and shoes department is Walmart or Kmart quality. Some good finds if you look hard enough. Customer service in the following departments are excellent! I'm not sure what to make of this place. It's not like anything I've seen in the SF Bay Area. The closest thing I'd compare it to it the larger Target stores that have a full grocery department. But while those stores feel like they are first a department store with a grocery department within. This Fred Meyer feels like a grocery store first and clothing, hardware, furniture, electronics, outdoor store secondly. We stayed for a week in a motel close by for Independence Day. We were at this store almost everyday for gas and supplies and it served our needs well. We primarily got snacks and breakfast stuff, so our purchases were limited. But after a day on the beach, the pooches needed a bath before going back in the car, and this store had a good stock of pet supplies as well. read more

We ordered sandwich, meat and chocolate strawberry trays for our wedding. The food was great and super easy for our small wedding. The ladies at the deli were awesome! They were very sweet and contentious about everything going well and looking great for our wedding. They even came out to make sure that everything would be OK in the truck for the ride to the wedding location. read more

When I visited Gold Beach last year this is where I got my Starbucks coffee every morning. It was a really nice looking Fred Meyer, but kind of weird that it was two stories. The second floor felt all cramped because of the low ceiling. Really nice produce and fesh meat area. The lighting was very calming and dark. read more

This is Brooking's one-stop-shop store and has everything and everybody in it! It is very convenient, with mostly good quality and name-brand products. The employees are very helpful and friendly. About the only thing I would say could improve is that stock runs out fairly quickly, probably because it's so popular. Prices are a little higher than I am used to over all but there are some very good buys also. read more

Great until the past few months when Simple Truth Organic greens have consistently been either dry or contain many slimy leafs. Also coupons received for preferred customers are often unavailable for sale. Latest example, frozen organic blue berries. In case one isn't informed, blue berries top the list of the "Dirty Dozen" for massive amounts of pesticides which even triple washing, power washing cannot remove. So, no availability of blue berries with the exception of toxic filled "anti toxin" blue berries. In addition, prices keep climbing monthly for meats that are far from high quality. No longer my favorite store but it will grow because there is little competition. read more

I had never even heard of Fred Meyer and this is the only location I have ever visited. I couldn't believe it. You can buy an engagement ring and toilet paper in the same shopping trip. It was awesome. They had a lot of cute shoes and clothes, a huge selection of groceries, and everything else in between. This store is something else. read more

I have to make a remark to Kenny, who was making fun of the security. All I have to say, is they don't and can't do enough to stop the thieves. Wonder why costs are going up? Thank your local meth addict and their multi-cart full of high cost items being pushed out the door without paying for it. Maybe customers could keep their eyes open to such things and report it to an employee so the person can be noted. I work there and see lots of this happening and have no way to stop it myself. Maybe someone posted at each door greeting like at Wal-Mart would do the trick. Two people at $60/day could save hundreds of dollars from being lost through this kind of theft. Think about it, Freddy managers, what would you have to loose if you tried this for 6 months and see if your shrink goes down! I love Freddies, myself, as I find most of everything I need there. I love working there, too, though it is quite stressful when we are short of employees to help customers in the apparel department because we are downstairs checking! Having moved here about 2 months ago, I have tried to be patient about what this town has to offer except really spectacular coastline and pretty good weather. Fred Meyer is such a disappointment. The produce is so bad. The simplest item, like a russet potato, bring it home, peel it, its green, this is caused by age & exposure to light, these potatoes are old. Selection of produce is terrible and the organic section is no better. They don't even seem to care. This is the OR coast, we are not that far from CA you know. If it weren't for the little market at the Grange on WED., which has become the highlight of the week, I would be so depressed. Fred Meyer has no competition, so why try harder. Living this close to the ocean, and selling fish from THAILAND is dumb. Their prices are high on most items and the sales are deceiving. The idea that this place serves the community is a joke. It serves them alot of bad overpriced goods. I feel bad the people of Brookings have no better place to shop. read more

Its been years since I've been to a Fred Meyer. They all closed down in So California years ago. This place was way bigger than I expected. Not as much stuff as say a Super WalMart or Super Target, but for a grocery store, they had a heck of a lot of other cool stuff. The full story: husband died, no insurance due to pre-existing (polio), lost everything, homeless, pension check delayed- sent to closed account, hungry & broke, signs in Fred's parking lot blurred (as if no longer applicable), others seen parking overnight - does security bother to know the truth? No! Nor do they care. 20+ years shopping at Fred's. Thousands of $'s spent over those years. They will NEVER get another dime from me and I'm spreading the word to all who will listen. read more

Great store. Everyone is always very nice and helpful! You can find just about anything here. Special kudos to Cheryl in the deli. She made me a tuna salad sandwich that was off the charts! Though it's a little annoying to have only one real option for shopping in a town, Fred Meyer isn't bad. Their prices are somewhat high overall, but they have a good organic section with bulk foods and fresh produce. Shawna, the produce manager, is really nice, and even directed me to the better avocados when she saw I was going to buy from the bunch that had not been so good lately. I called the Bakery to have a birthday cake made for a friend who was turning 74 years old. I called 24 hours prior to the day I needed the cake and these People said they would not make the cake. The order was for a simple birthday cake. They were rude to no end and shouted. I have also experienced this with different department such as the meat department and the fish department. These people lack manners and hospitality. I will no spend my hard earned cash to be treated this poorly. read more

Lived in the Brooking area for a couple years, This is a nice store with fair prices and friendly employees. The problem is that its a regular Peyton Place, You hear about what woman is having sex with with her co worker.I even came out of the mens dressing room and a woman and man came out of the other dressing room,The woman was actually buttoning her blouse coming out.Both were in Fred Meyers uniforms..I never really believed it myself untill I saw it.One of the nicest ladys is hooking up with the electronic worker and so on and so on read more
