The Brookings Fred Meyer is among the most well stocked I have visited next to Klamath Falls store. It has a pharmacy, vision center, deli, meat department, bakery, home goods and much more. If you're visiting Brookings it is one stop shopping. All Fred Meters are doing that crazy "take a picture of this label code to get the bargains" thing which drives me nuts. If you don't do that, the prices are pretty high. The staff are friendly and helpful. Give it a try and see what you decide. read more

At fred Meyers snowfox sushi - never makes just plain vegetable sushi they would sell a lot more product if they did. Most rolls are the artificial seafood & fancy sauces. I even tried going early morning when case is full sushi & NO veg. Rolls I have seen many people looking to get veg. Rolls & we all leave with nothing but disappointment. Snowfox needs to be more business wise & give the public what they want, it would be cash in their pocket. read more

This store is unrecognizably clean and fully stocked today--it's like hell froze over. I've never been offered help before, and the staff are actually pretending to work instead of hiding and talking. I'm willing to bet this sudden efficiency is because corporate is doing an audit. This place is usually a complete mess with unopened boxes blocking the aisles. They're definitely running a big fake show for the executives, and corporate should really be asking the customers how this store normally operates. read more

In Brookings for family vacation. We live in California and as far as I know we don't have any. I think they are a small chain in Oregon and Washington. But I wished we had some here. They're kinda like a Super Walmart but nicer. They have almost everything you might need. Groceries,housewares,gardening, clothing and more. Super clean and everyone who works there was so kind and helpful. Nice deli department. And believe it or not they had delicious sushi made on the spot. Very yummy! And very reasonable priced. My grandson said he wants to go to Fred Meyer for vacation next year. read more

Their website for making a list with the discounts seems to only work if you are having the cart delivered as a pickup. Wasted many hours trying to make a shopping list to insure the lower price at checkout. Did not work, would not work, website is TERRIBLE. read more

Pharmacy!!! . Absolutely NO reason to be closed from 1: to 1:30!!!! Employees can alternate lunch hours the same way the store does!!!!! Ive shopped at many Fred Meyers in many towns, the Brookings store is the worst! Everything is over priced, and if they do mark something 'on sale' they pull the stunt where you have to buy 5 or 8 items to get the discount?! Why wont they simply have a sale and not make it so inconvenient by requiring you buy more than you want or need? The produce is horrible as well, apples are always rotten inside, very rare to see ripe bananas available. Seems like they also have a problem stocking items...every visit the shelves are out of some common items. The parking lot is the worst designed lot Ive ever seen. They took out the convenient seating area by the deli and starbucks. This store has zero concern for customer satisfaction convenience. Sad that Brookings residents dont have a nice place to shop that at least pretends to care about what the customers want. read more

Solid five stars for a very convenient and amazing variety of grocery items and everything else that you would need in every isle. They have the best prices and excellent array of fresh produce and the best cuts of meats! Occasionally salmon and Steelhead are also available along with scallops and Dungenes crab in season. The best thing is that they have fantastic clothing department upstairs that carry Two Thieves underwear and huge selections of Levi blue jeans at most reasonable price! Outside there's plenty of plants and flowers available at anytime. The gas price is also unbeatable! Must try this place and get on their membership discount group. read more

I like the store products ok. Employees need to be trained on how to talk to Hard of Hearing people. I was in the electronics department. I told them I was hard of hearing and cannot read their lips through a mask. I asked if they minded pen and paper instead and I produced my own on a clipboard. They would take the mask down and say something, then put it back up and keep talking, like that blurb would help the next few words. And I had two of them doing it, which led me to the confusion of who was speaking at any given moment. I didn't want them to take the mask off. I don't want Covid. I wanted a pen and paper conversation, which I repeatedly asked for. And I would not have been insulted had they wanted their own pen and paper, because of germs. But they talked to me in every way that I asked them not to. Repeatedly. I finally got fed up and started to leave and the lady yelled in my ear. I told her that only makes me not understand you louder and that's why I have paper and a pen. She lowered her mask and said anti-maskers have been trying to use this as an excuse. Not my concern. She had plenty of time to see me with a pen and paper, pleading, please, I have pen and paper. I got a manager and urged him that perhaps some employee training in this area would be good. On the other hand, the cashier in the grocery line with a clear face shield was awesome! I could read her lips with no problems. I will not be back to this store due to their Covid violations and treatment of someone with special needs, who specifically and precisely tells them what those needs are and asks for reasonable compliance. read more

Obviously during Covid, we can't select our own, but the prepackaged doughnuts in the fresh case were all very stale obviously atleast a day old and had sell date for 7/12, 2 days from now. They would be even far worse by then. Not a good experience when yoh have several people looking forward to breakfast. read more

Pulled into Fred Meyer in Brookings for some diesel, pulling my 5th wheel trailer. Pulled up to the outside pump as always, but that pump was u/s. continued around to the other outside pump, and pulled up next to it, ready to fuel. Was approached by a staff member from the station who informed me that I could not fuel up there - because the arrow on the pavement - pointed the other direction! I explained that the first pump was u/s, and that if I pulled in the 'correct' way, the hose would not reach! He clearly had no clue about customer service. Even though I was directly beside the correct pump, ready for a substantial purchase, he was adamant that Fred Meyer did not want my business! I left and went to Chevron, where they apparently appreciate their customers. read more

You think a store this big would carry some sort of carne asada meat? Skirt steak? Flap steak? Something we can make tacos with. According to the lady butcher: "No, we don't carry any of that type of meat, never have, we don't get much call for it" Yikes, I get this is a seaside town, but... And, by the way, I don't completely buy her statement, but they didn't today. When I was a kid, one of my friends Mom used to make tacos with ground beef and ketchup. This review is on the gas station not the store I went to get diesel fuel today , you can only go one direction so all the pumps that fuel on the left were FuLL , all the pumps that fuel on the right were empty... this is a stupid way to run a gas station have 1/2 your pumps empty and make people wait in line . I've debated leaving this review but it's necessary. If you have allergies to food DO NOT use the pick-up option. You must shop in-store to avoid mistakes. I've used pick-up six times and it's been right ONCE. We're talking to the point of giving me things I was very allergic to rather than what I wanted. Bad. Real bad. I really loved this store before it was bought out by kroeger. Now it seems more like a Walmart. Produce isn't as good and shelves are often empty-but that might be due to supply and too many people coming across the boarder to shop non taxable. This Freddy's is awesome. I don't know if the locals realize how nice of a store they have. Check out the Fred Meyers in Coos Bay sometime and you will see what I mean. That Freddy's is a complete dump. Tear it down, build a new one. Just please take it out of it's misery. So yeah..The Brookings Fred Meyer is bigger and newer. It even has escalators to go to the 2nd floor. Whooo hooo. Nice big organic section. Pretty much everything you need. My only suggestion. Needs a bigger local beer selection. read more

After hearing about it for some time, I finally shopped Fred Meyer. I was not bowled over. The store seems to fall somewhere between Target and Walmart. The housewares and linens sections felt like a low-end Bed, Bath, & Beyond. It's a department store in the truest sense. But as one who is used to shopping specific stores for specific needs, one-stop shopping doesn't hold much appeal for me. I'd still rather shop around for exactly what I want. I didn't notice prices any better than Target or Ross or other places, and it was still mostly Made in China stuff, nothing high-quality-for-less. If this was within walking distance of home, I'd probably go often because of the convenience. But I won't make it a point to shop here. read more

Came today during our annual camping trip to Klamath, CA. Fourth of July sale started today Thurs thru Sat. Look in the circular by the front entrance. Coupons for housewares, sporting goods, and clothing ranging from 10-15% additional off. Computer system finally upgraded into the 21st century. No longer does the checker need to key the discount per item; but the system knows if item qualifies or not. Yea! You need to know your prices because not everything here is less expensive than say Wal-Mart or Target. Funny fact - in CA. we pump our own gas; but in OR, the gas attendant pumps it. A few years ago, hubby got out of the car to the gas pump, and the attendant says "you're from California, huh?" read more

This is one for Olga from the electronics department, I went to Fred Meyers to swap something and with a issue and nobody seemed to want to help me with my issue or couldn't help me so I gave up and went on to return my item and swap it. I didn't even ask her to help me with this issue and she actually offered to do it and at first she couldn't and she wouldn't give up and finally helped me resolve my problem and I'm very thankful for her because she made my night better than what it could've been. 5 star employee and amazing customer service. read more

Thank you, Fred Meyer, for being so close to our campsite (http://www.yelp.com/biz/harris-beach-state-park-brookings). We were doing mainly Road Trip, and weren't armed with all the camping equipment such as heavy-duty coolers, but we could just come get groceries as we needed. The tomatoes and white corn were really sweet! Much better than what I would have expected of a big-box store. We also made heavy use of the camping equipment section, to supplement and replace equipment that broke. :p Good to know we could get emergency clothes as well, if necessary. Firewood, Gasoline, Beer. All the necessities. I think we came here 4 times during our one-night stay! Free WiFi would have shot this up to 6-star, in my opinion: there is no EDGE internet connection around here, and not even a regular cell phone service for (Fido roaming on) T-Mobile. The site says it closes at 9pm, but the store said 10pm (August 2010). Summer hours, maybe? read more

My husband and I came in to do grocery shopping. Went through the self checkout. We spent over $100 total. We had bought some loaf bread that was on special, buy 1 get 1 free. It was a total gimmick, switch n bait thing. We noticed that both loaves were charged and asked the attendant. She assured us that at the end when we're ready to pay, one loaf price will get taken off. WELL, IT DIDN'T! We asked the self check attendant and she said yeah too bad she couldn't do anything since we already paid and we had to go to the customer service line to get our refund. Seriously? They screwed up and we had to stand in long line, wasting more time to get our money? We were disgusted and left. Yes it was only $5.19 but we felt they basically stole it from us. So if you shop here, pay very close attention to what you buy that are on sale when they are rung up! read more
